I want to get the history/audit log of particular Document in my Library. When was it updated, who did checkin/checkout  on which date on this file?

Is there a way to get these information using Client Object Model?

Can someone give me a hint as to how to pull a view definition? Thanks, Andrew

SharePoint 2010 Client Object Model Issue

Hi,

I want to make a windows form (VS 2010, C#.NET), where you can connect to a specific list on a SP site and display all the items in a Data Grid View.

I made the connection to x site and y list and display them to a treeview. When i add the list to the tree view, i set the property Tag to it and assign as value the name of the list. Then through the NodeMouseClick event handler i get the current list is selected in the tree view.

The next step i want to display all the items from the list in a Data Grid View (windows form).

The event handler code is here:

    private void farmExplorer_NodeMouseClick(object sender, TreeNodeMouseClickEventArgs e)
    {
      try
      {
        colNames.Items.Clear();
        if (e.Node.Tag != null)
        {
          selectedList = ((SP.List)e.Node.Tag);
          String newUrlToLoad = currentUrl.ToString() + selectedList.ParentWebUrl;

          using (SP.ClientContext ctx = new SP.ClientContext(newUrlToLoad))
          {
            SP.Web webToLoad = ctx.Web;
            SP.List myLis

2010 FullTextSearch with Client Object Model

Hi,

for SharePoint Server 2007 i developed a wrapper around the standard search web service (QueryService-Class) for FullTextSearch outside of the server.

Now i start to develop a new version of my wrapper by using the client object model of SharePoint 2010. But i did not find a method or class in the Microsoft.SharePoint.Client namespace to start a FullTextSearch in SP 2010.

Can someone tell me if it is possible to start a FullTextSearch with the Client Object Model?

Thx!

View previous version of a file in document library using Client Object Model

Hi,

Using Server-side object model, it is pretty simple to get the previous file versions. Say I wanted to view a file in its initial version, all I’d need to do is :

file.Versions[0].File

When using Client object model, I couldn’t any analogous method/property which would let me fetch the previous version of file.

Can somebody point me to a sample or the property which would serve my purpose?

SharePoint 2010 Client Object Model upload size limit

Hello,

for the client object model i found 2 methods for uploading files:

  • Microsoft.SharePoint.Client.File.SaveBinaryDirect
  • Mircrosoft.SharePoint.Client.FileCollection.Add

The 1st methods use a stream and the 2nd use a byte-array as parameter. This morning i noticed that with the Add-Method of the FileCollection-Class I only can upload files which are smaller than 3 MB. With larger files I get always the exception (400 - Bad request).

The SaveBinaryDirect-Method seem to have no upload size limit. I can upload files which are 50 MB large. Unfortunatley it gives me no return value, but i like to get an object with id/guid for later operations (update/delete).

Is it possile to change the upload size limit for the add-method?

Thanks for help!
