Yesterday Fast search service (and MOSS) works fine. But today after restarting Fast search service I've got an error in client applications: The
search request was unable to execute on FAST Search Server.
Anyway Fast Search for Sharepoint (node controller) service is running, but every ~30 seconds my Windows Event Log fills with an exception:
Faulting application name: fsearch.exe,
version: 14.0.313.0, time stamp: 0x4ba1ef55
I recently ran out of space using WS 3.0 and I used Microsoft KB to move the 3 databases (Admin_Content, Config and Search). That took care of the space problem but now i receive this error message every time we perform a search.
In Event Viewer I have several errors: mostly:
All SP services are running.
Any help will be great.
According to the following TechNet article
http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/ff381239.aspx, "Do not install FAST Search Server 2010 for SharePoint on the same server as SharePoint Server 2010." is commented in the Important section but there are no justifications to this "non-recommended"
approach. I've searched for an explanation but only found one entry that mentioned for performance reason.
Would you please provide me with an article to substantiate this performance or some other reasons as to why FAST Search Server "should" be installed on its own box?
I've seen other related threads and I've tried all the tricks in getting through the post-setup configuration, but I can't get by the "ValidationException 1034: Username or domain is incorrect." error message taken from the FAST psconfig log. I've tried
both the wizard and the psconfig, but get the same results. I'm attempting to deploy the single server (stand-alone) on a single x64 box, under ws2008 SP2, w/SP2010, the server is also the domain controller, and i've been passing the FQDN to the post-setup
script as described in the FAST deployment document (see log below):

FAST Search crawling doesn't work. Event log has an error message "unable to resolve contentdistributor".
Information from TechNet and FAST Forum seems to be conflicting, which one is correct?
Error Message - Unable to resolve ContentDistributor
Suggested resolution in FAST forum is to use port 13390
The knowledge worker is greatly empowered if she is able to access information across the enterprise from a central access point. With the SharePoint Portal Server 2001 Search Service you can catalogue information stored in Exchange public folders, on the Web, in the file system, and even in Lotus Notes databases. This article discusses the use of ActiveX Data Objects and the Web-based Distributed Authoring and Versioning protocol for creating search solutions based on SharePoint Portal Server 2001.
