Workflow Configuration Forms

Posted By:      Posted Date: October 13, 2010    Points: 0   Category :SharePoint

I want to make a workflow configuration form, which will be filled on the administrator level only.

For example, when configuring OOB Approval WF there are 2 forms in list properties:

  1. first is common - for setting up name of workflow, history and task lists
  2. second is specific for a workflow type - is what i want

Now i have Initiation Form working fine, but it lauches each time i start workflow over item. I want to do it only once in list properties.

Using Workflow to create an InfoPath item in a Forms Library

Hi Experts: Here is my situation: I have a MOSS 2007 server with list A (regular sharepoint list) and List B (InfoPath form library with a published form) This is what I am trying to accomplish using SharePoint Designer: List A is just a basic list User changes a column in list A to a specific value A new form needs to be added to the forms library B SharePoint designer Workflow will not create a valid xml file in the List B forms library. It just creates an invalid file based on the .xsn file template. Does anyone have any experience creating a valid xml form in a forms library using SharePoint Designer workflow? I can't migrate to 2010 so that is not an option. Thanks for all your advise.

Error Publishing Workflow - : Activation could not be completed because the InfoPath Forms Services

Recently our when trying to publish a new workflow we are getting the following error: Activation could not be completed because the InfoPath Forms Services support feature is not present. Another symptom is any existing custom workflows are not running. There are several older posts from SharePoint 2007 that indicate to disable and re-enable the SharePoint Server Enterprise Site features. I have tried that and I still get the error.  Looking through the ULS I see the following when I try and publish a workflow: 09/16/2010 15:04:29.48 w3wp.exe (0x2070) 0x0718 SharePoint Foundation General 8e2s Medium Unknown SPRequest error occurred. Is there anyway to re-associate a workflow with my ASPX forms after XSN forms have been created?

Hello!

I had a very complicated workflow created in SP 2007 that was working fine, until our IT migrated the site over to SP 2010.  There was one minor thing that wasn't working.  I opened the WF in SP 2010 (my first time using this for WFs) and when editing it changed all my forms to XSN forms that did not have any of the text / coding that I had spent a lot of time on for my ASPX forms.

Currently I have to get this back to working asap and don't have time to recreate all this with XSN forms just yet.  My ASPX forms are still there but I can't figure out how to get the workflow to refer to them instead of the XSN forms.  I edited the filename.xoml.wfconfig.xml to change all the .xsn extensions to .aspx but it still is looking for xsn forms.

Is there anyway to do this or am I forced to recreate all my forms with XSN now?

Please help!

How to create Approval Workflow with ASPX forms in Visual Studio 2008?

Help Renaming Workflow Custom Task Forms

I've got a custom workflow which has a few "Start Custom Task Process" actions. When I created them, the default names were Task (1), Task (2), etc. But I have renamed the Task within the Workflow. When I look at the Form's section of my Workflow in SharePoint Designer, the File Names for those forms are Task_x0028_1_x0029_.xsn, Task_x0028_2_x0029_.xsn, etc. I can open the Form's in InfoPath and do the editing I want to, but I cannot get them renamed on the SharePoint server.

I've tried going to the Task Lists from within the Workflow via Customization>Open Task List, and then renaming them from there but that doesn't work. I've also tried renaming the actual file via Navigation>All Files>Workflows>Workflow Name but that just breaks the link to the form when the task is executed.

Does anyone have any suggestions on how to rename these and have them show up with the proper name within the "Forms" section when working on the workflow?

How to host Workflow Designer in Windows Forms

I want to host windows workflow foundation designer into windows forms so that our client can use this designer to change his design according to his needs in the future once project is completed.

But I am not getting the idea of designer hosting and which functionalities to provide while re-hosting workflow which is designed in Visual Studio.

I want to re-host the same workflow designed in visual studio in Windows Forms.

Routing for Web Forms in ASP.NET 4.0

posted a prototype demonstrating how one could use Routing within Web Forms. This is something you can do today with ASP.NET 3.5 SP1, because of the work we did to separate Routing from ASP.NET MVC. I would have liked to include Web Form Routing as part of the Routing feature when we were working on SP1, but we didn't have the time to do so in a robust manner before SP1 was locked down.

Application Architecture in Windows Forms 2.0

Applications have special support in Windows Forms. For starters, you can manage and tailor your application's lifetime, and, when the work flow is disrupted by an unhandled exception, you can choose from several methods of response. Then, there are several application models that you can employ, including Single Document Interface (SDI) and Multiple Document Interface (MDI) applications, each of which can support either multiple-instance or single-instance mode, the former the VS05 default and the latter requiring special consideration. All applications, however, can discover and use a wide variety of information about the system and environment they execute in.
