Compare two XML fiels and replace data by using C#.net code

Posted By: Posted Date: October 13, 2010 Points: 0 Category :ASP.Net

I have two xml files. The XMLFile1.xml and XMLFile2.xml both files have same nodes but with different text. Now I want to compare both the xml files and want to replace the text of XMLFile1.xml with the text of XMLFile2.xml for those matching nodes like <![CDATA[Student Center]]> will be replace by <![CDATA[????]]>. I want to built a windows application for this with C#.net code. The structure of two xml files as shown below:

<?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?>
<phraseroot isocode="ISO-1" langname="English">

Know Thy Code: Simplify Data Layer Unit Testing using Enterprise Services

If you want to employ unit testing and test-driven development techniques in your database application development process, you'll have different factors to consider than you do when you're not involving a database. For example, you have to maintain a consistent state within the database and be able to roll back transactions when necessary. This article shows you how to get the best of unit testing for your database apps in a safe, usable manner.

Trustworthy Code: Exchange Data More Securely with XML Signatures and Encryption

You can sign any kind of data using XML Signature, including part of an XML document, other XML documents, or other data of any format. However, in practice, XML signatures are most frequently used to sign other data represented in XML. In this article, the authors discuss the new standard and how you can benefit from it in your apps.

Data: More Load, Less Code with the Data Enhancements of ASP.NET 2.0

A data source control is a server control that wraps some basic functions of a data source - be it a SQL Server database, an XML document, an Excel worksheet, or a sitemap description. Through the services of a similar component, data-bound controls can fetch data as well as insert new records or update and delete existing ones. Data source controls enable a consistent model across a variety of data sources and dramatically reduce the amount of code needed to implement a two-way data-binding scenario. This article provides an introduction to data source controls and other related data binding features.

Trying to run a stored procedure from vb code with oracle data provider.

Here is my SP:

create or replace
Open p_getuserssignon_recordset1 for
SELECT Distinct(Userid), UserPassword, SecurityLevel, ActiveStatus
WHERE substr(UserId,1,2) <> vUid
Order By UserId;

I would like to run this SP from code and fill a gridview with the result.

I am not sure how to go about this, as I have found several different examples, other than the one I think I need.

I am using the oracle data provider and I have an input parameter (vUid, which will equal "zz").

First question. When filling a gridview with a result set from a stored procedure should the recordset OUT be defined as a REFCURSOR (like i did above)?

Do you have example code as to how to execute the SP and fill a gridview? I keep trying different variations of code i've found on the internet without any success other than getting more confused.

(I am using VS 2005, VB).

Thank you.

DataGrid ValidationRule or IDataErrorInfo validation code called multiple times for each data change

Following my enquiry regarding a problem in Datagrid validation, for which managing exceptions is apparently a problem, I tested the two other methods: using validation rules, or implementing the IDataErrorInfo interface. I ran into other problems there, more insidious this time. This has been done on Windows7 (32-bit), .NET 4.0.30319. 1) IDataErrorInfo When this interface is implemented, the this[string columnName] property is called four times for each modification: two times before the cell enters edit mode (with the old value in the corresponding property) two times when the new value has to be validated (with the new value) It strikes me as not really efficient, is there something wrong with my code? Here's the C# part: using System; using System.Windows; using System.Collections.ObjectModel; using System.ComponentModel; namespace DataGridTest2 { public partial class MainWindow : Window { ObservableCollection<User> users; public MainWindow() { InitializeComponent(); users = new ObservableCollection<User>() { new User { Name = "Teddy", Age = "2" }, new User { Name = "Avi", Age = "19" } }; datagrid.ItemsSource = users; datagrid.Focus(); } } public class User : INotifyPropertyChanged, IDataErrorInfo { string name; public string Name

Solved: LDAP authentication: error code 49 - 80090308, comment: AcceptSecurityContext error, data 52

Hi, I have a problem conneting to another domain (far.away.domain). We have a two-way trust to this domain. Also I can access the DS using ADSI edit and our Administrator account (ourdomain.com). I tried several types of credentials (userid = "CN=Administrator,CN=Users,DC=ourdomain,DC=com", "Administrator @ ourdomain.com" (without blanks)...). Connecting to ourdomain.com is no problem, but to far.away.domain I can't connect, I always get the error 525 (user not found). What could be the problem? Have I to use an entry from the ForeignSecurityPrincipals CN of the far.away.domain? I also tried to connect using Softerra LDAPBrowser and a command line ldapsearch without succes and with not a better error message. But why is it not possible to use a trusted account, or is this a active directory feature and does not work with pure LDAP bindings? Best regards, Nils.

Adding source redirect code to end of a URL which used a dynamic data value

I'm trying to add some source redirect code to the end of a URL in a Data Form Web Part on a simple SharePoint aspx page. This is the basic url: /itservices/helpdesk/Lists/Service%20Requests/DispForm.aspx?ID={@ID} However I want to add a source redirect to the end of the URL so that it returns to a particular page rather than the list's default page. I have tried all of the following: /itservices/helpdesk/Lists/Service%20Requests/DispForm.aspx?ID={@ID}&source=/itservices/Pages/MyOverview.aspx That causes an error in the web part stating "This Web Part does not have a valid XSLT stylesheet: Error; A semi colon character was expected". I tried replacing the ampersand with the URL encoded character: /itservices/helpdesk/Lists/Service%20Requests/DispForm.aspx?ID={@ID}%26source=/itservices/Pages/MyOverview.aspx But when opening from this URL the form contains no data. What am I missing or can this not be done? Thanks.

Data from text files, What's wrong with my code?

Hi all, I have uploaded some tab-delimited .txt files on my web site (actually run on my computer, ie localhost, for now), and now I try to retrieve the data from those files. I do this by calling a vb file containg the sub below. Everything works great, except that the sub won't recognise unicode characters. I can split the resulting string using vbnewline and vbtab, but already in the sub in question, the string doesn't understand the Swedish letters åäö, apostrophes and more. Any help would be greatly appreciated! /Pettrer Shared Function getTextfile(ByVal FullPath As String, Optional ByRef ErrInfo As String = "") As String Dim strContents As String = "" Dim objReader As StreamReader Try objReader =New StreamReader(FullPath) 'UTF8Encoding? strContents = objReader.ReadToEnd() objReader.Close() ErrInfo = Ex.MessageCatch Ex As Exception End Try Return strContents End Function

Set up a validator that compare the value of the current field with an other (using Dynamic Data)

Hi! Most of it is in the title : I'd like have a validator on the DateTime_Edit template for example that allows to compare this field with an other DateTime field. My problem is when I am in the DateTime_Edit template of my "master field" (the one I want to check), how can I access to the other field given the architecture of Dynamic Data FieldTemplates? But perhaps I'm not thinking in a good way on this control. Any advice will be welcome. Thanks Raphaelp

data contract code generation for large/complex schema (HR-XML/OAGIS) - is there an alternative?

Hello, and thank you for reading.I am implementing a Service based on a predefined specification (HR-XML 3.0). As such, I am starting with the schema, and working my way back to code. There are a number of large Schema documents (which import yet more Schema documents) related to my implementation, provided by this specification.I am able to generate code using xsd.exe, by supplying the "main" and "supporting" xsd files as arguments. But there are several issues, and I am wondering if this is the right approach.- there are litterally hundreds of classes - the code file is half a meg in size- duplicate classes (ex. Type, Type1 - which both represent the same type)- there are classes declared as inheriting from a base class, but that base class is not generated/definedI understand that there are limitations to the types of Schema supported by svcutil.exe/xsd.exe when targeting the DataContractSerializer and even XmlSerializer. My question is two-fold:1. Are code generation "issues" fairly common when dealing with larger, modular xsd files? Has anyone had success with generating data contracts from OAGIS or HR-XML schema?2. Given the above issues, are there better approaches to this task, avoiding generating code and working with concrete objects? Does it make better sence to read and compose a SOAP message directly, while sti

SvcUtil-generated code or shared interface/data contract assembly?

If you control both service and client is there any benefit in using svcutil.exe to generate client proxies? Or is it better to share interface/data contract assembly between client and service?
