javascript to hide ModalPopupExtender not working

Hello, I've seen some other posts about this but never found a resolution to it. I have a gridview control with another gridview inside each row. I'm using a masterpage and I have a TabContainer to boot and of course updatepanels. I'm showing my gridview child via a modal popup extender. It shows great and other JQuery operations are working as expected. I have a pageLoad javascript that does the following: function pageLoad(sender, args) {      $addHandler(document, "keydown", OnKeyPress);   } And, function OnKeyPress(args) {      if (args.keyCode == Sys.UI.Key.esc) {         var mp = $find('<%=mpe1.clientid%>');         mp.hide();      }   } The var mp seems to be returning an object as '<%=mpe1.clientid%>' returns the clientid, and the mp.hide() line executes without error. It doesn't hide the popup however. What can be the problem?S

ModalPopupExtender allows content panel to show, but everything is disabled

I have a user control (ascx) vs 2010 that contains a modalpopup extender thats popup control is an asp:panel.  In that Panel I have an update panel and a contenttemplate inside the upd panel.  It is a pretty simple example of its use, in that I have list box allowing the users to create a new row in a table.  However, when I click targetcontrol, the background changes to the expended modal background, but instead of being able to use the listbox, everything in the content panel is the same as the background and none of the controls on the panel are enabled.  In other words, the entire page is loaded dimgray, including the updatearea. Not sure what is going on here, but any help would be appreciated.

Using Javascript to show/hide asp elements

I have an address page that validates via USPS.  The user inputs their address and clicks the "validate" button.  The "validate" button goes away, the validated address is displayed and a "submit" button shows up.  If a user makes a change to their address after they have validated, they need to be forced to validate again.  However that's not happening.  The visibility doesn't change at all.

Here is my script:

<script language="javascript" type="text/javascript">
    function HideValidated(form) {
        document.getElementById('<%= trValidate.ClientID %>').style.display = "inline";
        document.getElementById('<%= trCorrected.ClientID %>').style.display = "none";
        document.getElementById('<%= trSubmit.ClientID %>').style.display = "none";
    }
</script>

Here is part of my HTML:

<asp:TableRow runat="server" ID="trValidate">
        <asp:TableCell><asp:LinkButton ID="btnValidate" runat="server" OnClick="btnVa

Toggle show/hide details in datalist using javascript

Hi,

I have a datalist bound to a sql source having two columns: Name and Description. The datalist contains a "Show Description" link as follows on clicking on which it calls the javascript which shows the description div.

    <script type="text/javascript">
        function toggle_visibility(id) {
           var e = document.getElementById(id);
           if(e.style.display == 'block')
           {
              e.style.display = 'none';
           }
           else
           {
              e.style.display = 'block';
           }
        }
    </script>

 The asp.net page source for itemtemplate of the datalist is as follows.The problem is that since the div id "Description" is applicable to multiple records, no matter I click on whichever "show details" link, the description of first record in the datalist is shwon and hidden since its the first div encountred by the javascript. In other words, I want a way to show/hide the description of each record in datalist indivigdually. Please provide your input. Thank you in advance.

<ItemTemplate>
<asp:Label ID="TPlaceLabel" runat="server" Text

ASP.NET, HTML, JavaScript Snippet Support (VS 2010 and .NET 4.0 Series)

This post covers another useful improvement in VS 2010 - HTML/ASP.NET/JavaScript snippet support. Snippets allow you to be more productive within source view by allowing you to create chunks of code and markup that you can quickly apply and use in your application with a minimum of character typing.

Visual Studio has supported the concept of "snippets" for VB and C# in previous releases - but not for HTML, ASP.NET markup and JavaScript. With VS 2010 we now support snippets for these content types as well.

call JavaScript - jQuery code from ASP.NET Server-Side

jQuery got so close to me lately that I can see myself adding the scripts to my project almost unconsciously. The thing is, jQuery is very useful for me, in almost all situations and it has been a do or die enhancement for all my project since I first put my hands on it.

Of course while using it, you encounter few situations which need a bit of research to solve, mostly when you are trying to combine it with some other technologies like: UpdatePanels and ASP.NET Ajax. For instance there are many situations when I would like to run some jQuery magic based on some decision that I make on the server side.

How Do I Enable Inline GridView Editing?

Now that you have created a site with Edit and Details views, how do you enable inline editing in a GridView control? This video shows you how, and also touches on routing.

GridView control to show master-child or master-slave data, written in c#, asp.net

I previously made a master slave datagrid using Visual Studio 2003 .Net (original article) that would allow users to show data to clients using collapse and expand features. These features however did not carry over to gridview for many users. This tutorial will explaing how to create a collapsable/expandable gridview in frameworks 2.0 and higher
