Error Message: The attempt to connect to the report server failed. Check your connection informatio

I have a web page that contains a ReportViewer control.  I am trying to display a report, which is an .rdl file located on the SSRS server, in this ReportViewer control.  I have set the ReportPath and ReportServerUrl correctly.  I am getting an error message. Am I suppose to use an .rdlc file rather than a .rdl file?  Does the web server configuration need to use a certain account?  I am getting the following error message: The attempt to connect to the report server failed. Check your connection information and that the report server is a compatible version. The request failed with HTTP status 404: Not Found.

Adding an SP 2010 server to an existing farm. "Failed to connect to the configuration database." dur

I have an existing sp 2010 enterprise server hosting websites and central administration.  I have a seperate sql 2008 r2 server holding the databases.  My goal is to setup another sp 2010 enterprise server to provide redundancy for the websites and central admin.  I believe I am able to accomplish this by adding another web front end to the farm.  On the second server, I install sp 2010, run the config wizard and connect to the config database located on the sql server, however, I am interrupted at step 3 when I am notified of the following:

Failed to connect to the configuration database.
An exception of type System.InvalidOperationException was thrown.  Additional exception information: There was an error encrypting or decrypting credentials. Either a credential update is currently being performed, or you must update the farm account credentials on this server before you can perform this task.

Hi, I am trying to use TLS to connect to the Windows 2008 Server from windows XP, I set Authentication=False.

It throws the below authentication exception when connected to WIN 2008 Server with SP2, where as it used to work fine with WIN 2003:

System.IO.IOException: Unable to read data from the transport connection: An existing connection was forcibly closed by the remote host. ---> System.Net.Sockets.SocketException: An existing connection was forcibly closed by the remote host

Below is the sample code.

////////

protected Stream stream;

IPEndPoint ipe = new IPEndPoint(addr, port);

Socket socket = new Socket(ipe.AddressFamily, SocketType.Stream, ProtocolType.Tcp);

socket.Connect(ipe);

socket .SetSocketOption(SocketOptionLevel.Socket, SocketOptionName.KeepAlive, options.keepAlive);
socket .LingerState = new LingerOption(options.lingerTime >= 0, options.lingerTime >= 0 ? options.lingerTime : 0);
socket .NoDelay = options.noDelay;

stream = new SslStream(stream, false, new RemoteCertificateValidationCallback(true), null);
((SslStream)stream).AuthenticateAsClient(certName);

I am using .Net 3.0 Frame work & VS 2005

need help about "Unable to connect to remote server." using HttpWebRequest

Hello friends
I am creating an application where I want to store an html page from one of my websites into another web site.
For the same purpose I am taking the url of the html pages
for example if I want to copy this page "http://mydomain.com/html/page1.html" then i take this url from a text box which user enters.

Server 2008 R2 -> Failed to decrypt using provider 'RsaProtectedConfigurationProvider'. Error mess

So I am using the aspnet_regiis.exe tool to encrypt sections of the web.config in my asp.net applications and services.  I have done this for years successfully on Windows Server 2003 (IIS 6).  However I just moved some apps over to Windows Server 2008 R2 (with IIS 7.5) and I am now receiving the following error at runtime:

"Server was unable to process request. ---> Failed to decrypt using provider 'RsaProtectedConfigurationProvider'. Error message from the provider: Bad Data."

Now I am quite familiar with this process and am stumped at what I have missed this time around.  I have done ALL of the following which typically suffices for the process on the server. PLEASE READ ALL AND DO NOT PROVIDE RESPONSES OR LINKS FOR THINGS I HAVE ALREADY DONE Thanks!!  Wink

  1. Imported the keys to the server using aspnet_regiis -pi  Result: Success
  2. Given FULL permission (using -full switch) using aspnet_regiis -pa to ALL of the following accounts  Result: Success

Proxy failed to create remote object on the server

Hi, I am using .net remoting for inter-process communication between two processes on the same machine 1.   The first process is one of the Office application: Ecxel /   Word /   PP 2.   The other process is another application that interacts with one of the above. For that it needs office application object. For example: Excel The solution is comprised with 3 projects: Project #1: The remote object is a simple Called RemoteOfficeApplication – that simply wraps the required application object (Word / Excel / PP).   Project #2: The Server is a simple Office add-in, written with a Visual Studio Extensibility -> Shared project. This add-in is instantiated whenever Excel is lunched. This project reference project #1. Code: var channel = new TcpChannel (5003); ChannelServices.RegisterChannel(channel,true ); RemotingConfiguration.RegisterWellKnownServiceType( typeof (RemoteOfficeApplication.RemoteOfficeApplication ), “AppObj”, WellKnownObjectMode .Singleton);   Project #3: The Client is the process that requires the application object. This project also reference project #1. Code:   //Get Remote object proxy object remoteAppObject = Activator.GetObject(typeof(RemoteOfficeApplication.RemoteOfficeApplication), “tcp://localhost:5003/AppObj" ); //Cast the proxy var r

sqlcmd, cannot connect to server

I have SQL Server installed on a machine called SQLDEV. I log on to that machine and I run the command sqlcmd -s SQLDEV -Q "select * from <db>.<schema>.<some_table> -E This command works and returns a result set.   Next, I go to a different machine. On that machine I can use SQL Mgmt Studio to log on to SQLDEV using window authentication. However, if I run the same command as above, I get some kind of a connection error. The error says, ".... When connecting to SQL Server 2005, this failure may be caused by the fact that under the default settings SQL Server does not allow remote connections .....   Any suggestions/ideas why I am getting this error?
