Flash Video not loading when my site is published

Posted By:      Posted Date: October 13, 2010    Points: 0   Category :ASP.Net

I have a WebForm which has an ImageButton. When clicked, it will open a new window (using javascript). This new window,will load an html page (video.html).

Page.ClientScript.RegisterStartupScript(this.GetType(), "Open", "<script>window.open('Video/video.html','mywindow','menubar=0,resizable=1,width=420,height=310');</script>");

This html page contains a FLV Player, that loads a flv movie (myMovie.flv):

<table width="500" border="0" align="center" cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0">
    <td height="374" class="bgvideo">
    <table border="0" align="left" cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0">
        <td width="166" align="left" valign="top" style="padding-left:25px; padding-bottom:95px;"><object classid="clsid:D27CDB6E-AE6D-11cf-96B8-444553540000" width="352" height="240" id="FLVPlayer">
          <param name="movie" value="FLVPlayer_Progressive.swf" />
          <param name="quality" value="high" />

Can we add a video or flash content to sharepoint site

    Is there any possibility to add a video or a flash content  to a sharepoint page. Suppose when a page is loaded, the video or the flash file shoul automatically start to play.

I´m aware that video can be added through content editor webpart, but it does not plays the video file automatically. Only if the play button is pressed, the video starts playing. I want it to be automated. Is there any possible ways?

Thanks in advance..

Published site - wrong links

we have published our sharepoint site outside domain.

Unfortunately big problems with links in document library appeared.

The url for outside users is "it.company.cz", the internal url is "sp001:55680".

When I open the page and select Shared Documents, the site is still it.company.cz. But when select any folder in document library the site url changes to sp001:55680.

Strange is that the mouseover url is correct but when I click it, it changes to internal url.

Mouseover url: http://it.compay.cz/Shared%20Documents/Forms/AllItems.aspx?RootFolder=%2fShared%20Documents%2fProjects&FolderCTID=&View=%7bBEBFF1D2%2d5910%2d4A36%2dB049%2d971F95E752E7%7d

After click url: http://sp001:55680/Shared%20Documents/Forms/AllItems.aspx?RootFolder=%2fShared%20Documents%2fProjects&FolderCTID=&View=%7bBEBFF1D2%2d5910%2d4A36%2dB049%2d971F95E752E7%7d

Please help.

Placeholder Until Flash Video Loads

 VWD 2008 Express.  Adobe Captivate 3.  Visual Basic. I have a page onto which a flash video loads.  The flash video was created in Adobe Captivate.  Usually the 665x335 area where the flash video object loads just shows as an empty 665x335 frame (with a little picture icon in the upper lefthand corner) for a few seconds until the flash video finishes loading.  Then the video appears and starts running.  It makes the page look unprofessional.  Does anyone have an idea how I could have a default image show in the 665x335 space until the video loads, then to have the video take over?  Perhaps the flash player has an event that fires when it finishes loading and initializing?  Below is the flash video object that is embedded in my page: <div style="width: 665px; height: 335px" class="clickarea"> <object id="OneDay" codebase="http://fpdownload.macro../media.com/pub/shockwave/cabs/flash/swflash.cab#version=9,0,0,0" classid="clsid:d27cdb6e-ae6d-11cf-96b8-444553540000" data="../media/video/homepage/OneDayAlternate.swf" width="658" height="335"> <param name="allowScriptAccess" value="sameDomain" /> <param name="movie" value="../media/video/hom

Site collection Ribbon "loading"

After a reboot of my server, if I try and access the ribbon, on one of the site collections (through selecting a document library, and clicking the library tab), it comes up "loading", and never shows me the ribbon.  The other site collections work just fine. What is all that about???

Everything on subsite published but site is still not public

Hi all,

This is my first forum post accompanying my first try with SharePoint.

I have set up af set as subsite to a larger general site. Now that pretty much all the customization of the master and layout pages is done I want to see how it looks like to the public. So I tried publishing all the sites and everything, but user credentials are still necessary to access the site.

Honestly I don't understand it, for I have set all pages, layouts, masterpages and everything I can think of to published, but still, no luck. What am I missing? When i press the 'Check for un-pubslished items'-button on any page it says that there is nothing unpublished. I is really getting quite frustrating. Especially because this page needs to be done sunday or monday at best.

Do the welcome pages of the site (and my subsites of which i have 8-9) have to by of the type 'Welcome Page' in orden for the page to be public? It doesn't seem to make any difference, when I change the page type to welcome page in stead of ordinary (custom made) page layout. Although I haven't tried making all the chosen welcoma pages of the whole subsite (child subsites included) Welcome Pages.

But I'm now reaching the pulling-out-my-hairs stage of frustration. Can you help me in any way?

Thanks in advance

Published Sharepoint through ISA, but only the main site works

I have created a publishing rule on ISA 2006, and tested connecting from the Internet, through address https://www.company.com/ to our Sharepoint site successfully; however,  I could only open pages and libraries under the main site, not any other sites under the farm, such as https://www.company.com/Dept1, https://www.company.com/Dept2.

The error message in web browser was HTTP404, just as if the web sites do not exisit.

What's the actions I need to do to make them to work?

flv video handling and streaming capabilities of a sharepoint site, thoughts and ideas :)

Here is the thing.

We are re-designing an already working site but now we are using moss 2007.

In the new site we want an area where are users can see videos of the company. We will use the flv format for our videos. How does moss handle these kind of files? Is it easy to create lists with these kind of files and then using a gridview to lets say make a shocase of the data stored there? I mean the videos, perhaps a thumbnail and some metadata etc. When something is uploaded to a sharepoint list everything is stored in the data base, so if I use a grid view i will pull the data out of the data base?

I am walking blind here, this is more of a general discussion question. I have no idea on how to even start to implement this sort of thing, I am just trying to figure it out and see how I can go about this.

Thank you all in advance, hope my post is clear.

I need some help quickly please, here is my problem: I made a mp3 player with flash, with xml everything seems to work good in flash but when i added the swf to dreamweaver it appears as a grey gradient box (background i choosed in flash) and a text that says LOADING XML DATA.... but the songs never play or you know anything else happens is like it's stuck on that text.

Then I moved on and published the page and all the files like I always do, but still the box continues with the background and same text.

Hope someone can help me, if you do please e-mail me at: lagueritika89@hotmail.com

Changing the graphics on the home page of a SharePoint site

When you create a site in Microsoft Windows SharePoint Services by using the default Team Site template, the home page includes two default graphics. A Windows SharePoint Services graphic appears in the body of the page, and a picture of a house in a circle appears near the site title. You can change these graphics to customize your site. Changing the smaller graphic requires a Windows SharePoint Services compatible Web page editor

Take a tour of your SharePoint site

What is a SharePoint site for?
A SharePoint site is a Web site that provides a central storage and collaboration space for documents, information, and ideas. A SharePoint site is a tool for collaboration, just like a telephone is a tool for communication, or a meeting is a tool for decision making. A SharePoint site helps groups of people (whether work teams or social groups) share information and work together. For example, a SharePoint site can help you:

Coordinate projects, calendars, and schedules.
Discuss ideas and review documents or proposals.
Share information and keep in touch with other people.

Six easy ways to customize your site using Web Parts in SharePoint

Becoming familiar with Web Part customization techniques gives you a range of page-customization choices. For example, you can customize your site's home page so that it displays the specific information that your team needs. You can rearrange the list items on the home page, add lists, and even change the images on the home page. As you become more familiar with Web Part Page customization techniques, you can build interactive Web Part Pages that makes the data in lists more dynamic and useful, and you can add new Web Parts that provide access to external data and Web services.
