WebBrowser loses CSS float styles

Posted By:      Posted Date: October 12, 2010    Points: 0   Category :WPF

I've created a web page that will be displayed in a WebBrowser control in my WPF app. I would normally use a table, but decided to get with the times and use floating divs instead. I got it displaying how I want it in Firefox and more importantly IE, but when I load the page in the WebBrowser control, all of the controls are out of place. Below is a screen shot of the same page in IE vs. the WebBrowser control in my application:

Why is it doing this?

Conditional styles for selected Html.ActionLink

Hi, I am trying to add an item selected class to an Html.ActionLink, I am very new to MVC so its all a bit confusing.

So far i have each of my ActionLinks lookins like this

<li><%: Html.ActionLink("Home", "Index", "Home", new { @class = ViewData["current"] == "Home" ? "selected" : "" })%></li>

And in the controller i have

public ActionResult Index() {
            ViewData.Add("current", "Home");
            return View();

Can any one tell where i am going wrong because the links now fail to respond, basically it isn't checking the condition == Home and if it is then its failing because it doesn't get to the controller.

Any ideas would be appreciated

Changing folder name loses Person attributes

I have a custom folder content type. These folders have several attributes including text fields, choice, dates, and person lookups from AD. When I change the folder name, the folder will keep its date, choice and text box attributes, but lose the person attributes. If I change it back to its old name then it regains the person attributes. The ID is stays the same. One of the person fields is a required field, but that it still saves as an empty field. If anyone has a work around or even a suggestion as to what might be causing this it would help a lot.

Can't change Gridview row colors or styles in the DataBound event

I was highlighting certain rows in my gridview using code like this in the DataBound event:

        if (e.Row.RowType == DataControlRowType.DataRow)
            int vendorCheck = 0;
            //TODO make this shorter
            if (DataBinder.Eval(e.Row.DataItem, "vendorId") != System.DBNull.Value)

Extract a number from WebBrowser component

Basically, I am using this program that goes to this webpage, and tells the user how much points they have.   <div class="profileresults"><b>Gift Point Balance: 485</b></div>   That's the html. I am looking the extract just the 485 part. Just to note, this number value can be anywhere between 5 and 1000 or HIGHER. I know I'm going to have to use regex for this, so please help me, as I have no clue what do work from next.

SQL Server Compact loses change tracking anchors when copied to device

I have a device app that use SQL Compact and uses sync framework to synchronize to a SQL Server 2008 instance.  In order to speed up the initial synchronization of my device app, I'm creating the database (.sdf) using the sync framework on the server based on the suggestion in this article: http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/dd938879.aspx#HandlingInitialSynchronizationandExpiredSubscriptions Then I get it via a WCF service down to the device app.  I'm able to download the db and it has data.  When I sync however, the database doesn't seem to think it is syncronized.  It seems to have lost it's anchors.   The following code returns an anchor for my State table on the server, but not after copying it to the device. Any suggestions are appreciated.  Thanks FPASQLCeClientSyncProvider).GetTableReceivedAnchor("State")

Styles based on themselves?

Hi, I'd like to create e.g. a button style, change the template but keep the rest of the original button style (like minheight/height). How do I achieve this? Atm, I'm using this: <Style x:Key="Button" TargetType="Button" BasedOn="{StaticResource {x:Type Button}}"> <Setter Property="Template"> <Setter.Value> <...> </Setter.Value> </Setter> </Style> I get the following exception in visual studio (note: it just shows up in vs error window, it compiles and runs fine): "In den Eigenschaftsausdrücken wurde eine Schleife erkannt." (Unfortunately, I don't have the English excpetion message, as far as I understood it basically says you should not create a style based on itself) If I remove the BasedOn-thingy, my buttons get smaller than the normal ones and I'd like to have a solution for this where I don't have to set all the original controls' behaviors and which works also for other controls.   Tobi

Styles and derived styles at the app.xaml level

Hi, We have a bunch of standard styles (in XAML Resource Dictionaries) that are defined for company wide consumption and we merge them into our App.XAML in all our applications. In some applications we want to override some portions of the standard company wide styles again at the application level (we could do this at the window level but that is not preferrable and maintainable). But this doesn't work. What we notice is that if we have a style defined for Button in our company-wide style definition (merged into App.XAML), then we cannot derive from it and override it within our App.XAML - this probably is because there are multiple style definitions for Button and the last one replaces (rather than override) the previous. So, can anyone suggest a good way to handle this scenario? Again, we don't want to override styles at Window level, we want to do so preferrably at App level. Thanks

Convert float to String

HI, I am creating a derived column in my workflow. This derived column would have a concatenated value or Currency + [Account No]. Derived column is of type DT_STR. Currency is string (which is fine). I am having trouble converting [Account No] from float to string I tried Currency + (DT_WSTR)[Account No] and Currency + (DT_STR)[Account No] I am a newbie here... so, excuse my stupid question

Winforms running in WPF solution loses XP style

We have a Winforms solution that we are converting to a WPF solution.  In our WPF solution, we add existing Winforms objects which works great.  My problem is when I compile and run the new .exe created from the WPF solution, my Winforms which appeared as XP style in the Winforms solution, now appears like the old Win95 style (buttons are square instead of rounded corners, etc.)... just kinda ugly. Is there some setting in the WPF solution where I can tell it to make my Winforms appear in the XP style? Thanks in advance for your help.

Possible bug in WebBrowser Control realization in WPF and Windows Phone 7

Hello, I'm tried to make authentication component for russian social network Vkontakte.ru (vk.com). In russian forum nobody answered me. The proplem: When authentication is complete WebBrowser component must be redirected to page like: http://vkontakte.ru/login_success.html#session={%22expire%22%3A%221272008089%22%2C%22mid%22%3A%22100172%22%2C%22secret%22%3A%229c8d8f0305%22%2C%22sid%22%3A%221131703552161ae352a1256402e3140d7cbde41b1602a93d15472c82%22} In Windows Form application all works normal. But in WPF browser was redirected to http://vkontakte.ru/login_success.html Without #session.... It happened not only in WPF Applications, but even in Windows Phone 7. It is a bug? Or this parameter can be accessed from another place?

I have found an option for windows forms: http://slingkid.blogsome.com/2007/04/13/ie-zoom/ , but I cannot see how/if this applies to the WPF WebBrowser control. Any help would be appreciated

CreateWindowEx(...) P/Invoke Confusions with Window Styles and Extended Window Styles?

I am trying to create a window manually from C# using P/Invoke in order to make a tiny wrapper for some calls into Direct2D for a small application that is written in a functional idiom.  However, I am having a problem with a basic call: IntPtr hwnd = CreateWindowEx(0x16010000u, sWindowName, sClassName, 0x00050000u, cw_default, cw_default, cw_default, cw_default, (IntPtr)0, (IntPtr)0, hInstance, IntPtr.Zero); The first and fourth arguments which I state numerically here are bitmasks for the extended window style and the window style respectively.  I find (from Spy++) that the resulting window on execution has these style values instead: 0x16C10000u and 0x00050100u respectively.  Apparently a WS_CAPTION style is being added to my style bitmask at some point, and (perhaps consequently) WS_EX_WINDOWEDGE is being added to my extended styles.  I do not work with UIs much and have not used the window APIs from Win32 for a very long time, so perhaps I am making a silly mistake; perhaps there is some value in WNDCLASSEX that can somehow force WS_CAPTION to be added?  I am unsure if there is something obvious I am doing wrong either with the API or from the C# side.  Could I be making a marshalling mistake in the P/Invoke itself?  My extern declaration looks like this: [(DllImport("user32.dll")] s

Float the Page Title Zone when scrolling down the page?

I would like the horizontal nav and everything above it to float (stay in view) as a user scrolls down the page, like the Ribbon (SharePoint:SPRibbon) does. Basically, this tag <div id="s4-workspace">     /bac

Capturing each frame of WebBrowser

I need to capture each frame of System.Windows.Controls.WebBrowser Windows 7 does that nicely, you can notice that if you open a browser with some dynamic animated content like Flash or Sliverlight and look at the previews hovering over the taskbar or Win+Tab screens with Aero enabled, you can see the performance displayed there matches usual performance of the browser. I have prepared a code trying to achieve the same, but this code runs much slower, the frames per second rate is very low, and causes different exceptions after few minutes of running the application. Please take a look and tell me how to achieve the same high performance of capturing a browser rendering window each frame? The solution is a WPF Application named "WpfWebBrowserApplication" and requires PresentationCore, PresentationFramework, ShDocVw, System.Drawing references. <Window x:Class="WpfWebBrowserApplication.MainWindow" xmlns="http://schemas.microsoft.com/winfx/2006/xaml/presentation" xmlns:x="http://schemas.microsoft.com/winfx/2006/xaml" Title="MainWindow" Height="350" Width="525" Loaded="Window_Loaded"> <Grid> <Grid.ColumnDefinitions> <ColumnDefinition Width="0.5*"></ColumnDefinition> <ColumnDefinition Width="0.5*"></ColumnDefinition> </Grid.Co
