Posted By:      Posted Date: October 12, 2010    Points: 0   Category :SharePoint

I have recently noticed that ,my list edit form page load time is more compare to old version .

I have a large list with 15,000 items and 43 fields. Out of 43 fields only 25 fields available for edit in edit form.

and 12 fields are lookup and I have field edit permissions(code art codeplex solution http://sppex.codeplex.com/) enabled for different users.

My new item form is loading very quickly but edit form taking more than a minute. I tried with helath reports and firebug and yslow tools.

I didn't success with any reason. I request you to send me why it is happening to the edit form page only and that too with IE 8

In mozilla it is loading in max 20 seconds. I tried all IE 8 testings but no success.

Let me know what can I do to improve page load time for my list edit form.

Please help it out.

I am reposting again in this forum from other sp2010 forum

Infopath cannot load this form. Either the signature is corrupted, or the certificatie used to sign

I have a whole bunch of forms contains errors like whenever you try to open it up.

Infopath cannot load this form.  Either the signature is corrupted, or the certificatie used to sign this form is expired or revoked.

The forms were orginally created with digital signature with it.  But we were in the middle of transition from one company to another company.  The digital signature was no longer valid.  Actually, the certificate should have been expired by now.  I removed all the signatures for all of the forms.  So they can continue using the forms to fill in the information.  The problem right now, is trying to open the old forms with digital signature on it.   Not only the company has changed.  We also moved sharepoint from the old server to the new server.

Slow page load during a list query one time during the day

We have a monitoring tool set to check to see if the home pages for our 3 web apps load in under 60 seconds every 10 minutes.  All 3 web apps load in under 3 seconds on every 10 minute check except for one exception.  One check every day one of the web app's home page takes longer than 60 seconds to load.  This happens at 11:45PM when there is very little user usage on the environment.  The characteristics of this page are as follows: The only thing on the page is a list view web part which was added by the browser.  The page has not been customized with SPD or code at all.  The list that it pulls is a simple links list that has 281 items on it.  The view pulls all 281 items and displays them in sets of 100.  I cannot find any associated event in the server events and/or SharePoint ULS logs nor are there any daily sharepoint timer jobs running at that time.  Our full index happens at midnight with incremental happening hourly.  Our enviroment is 2 WFEs, 1 App/indexer and we have a separate SQL cluster backend.

Could someone lead me possibly in the direction I should take next in my troubleshooting?

How to dynamically hide stock edit/display form?

Slow load time of custom assembly on x64 compared to x86.

I am developing an application that automatically generates assemblies using the CSharpCodeProvider (.Net Framework 3.5).  These assemblies contain a single class with a very large number of local variables and methods.  After compilation I create an instance of this class (using Activator.CreateInstance) to be used elsewhere in the application.  When the application is deployed on a 32-bit system (tested on Win 7 Prof 32-bit and on Win XP) the CreateInstance method returns after 1 or 2 seconds, i.e. it first JITs the assembly before creating the instance.  However, on a 64-bit system (tested on Win 7 Home 64-bit, Win Server 2003 64-bit and Win Server 2008 64-bit) CreateInstance takes up to 5 minutes to return. Is there any reason why it would be that much slower on a 64-bit machine? I have tried many different options when compiling, such as setting the platform to x64, using the /optimize flag, etc, but none of these have made a difference. I also tried calling PrepareMethod on all the method in the class.  When I do this in the 32-bit environment, it takes approximately 10 seconds.  In the 64-bit environment it takes more than 3 minutes. As a last resort I tried ngen before constructing the object, but this made no difference in the execution time.

simple form for single record edit

I've been asked to create a web form to edit a couple of fields in one record in an Access database. The database is on the same server as the website. This is part of a simple CMS that someone developed a long time ago in traditional ASP with VB. I don't know VB well and am trying to get something working by adapting the existing code used in the CMS. I can get the form to display the current values in the record (there are only two fields that need to be edited), but I can't get the form to successfully update the record when the user clicks the submit button. I'm sure the solution  is simple but I've googled up down and sideways and can't seem to get this to work. If anybody with a little patience has a minute to look at this and offer a solution, I'd be grateful. Here's a link to the page in questsion: http://www.penobscotbayinn.com/admin/AdminFrameDefault.asp (click on "edit rates page text") on the  menu. If you submit the form you get a HTTP500 error. Thanks for your time. This seems like it must be a dirt simple procedure, but I'm not very conversant in VB.Here's the code: 1. <%@ Language=VBScript %> 2. <% option Explicit %> 3. <% 'Response.Buffer = true %> 4. <!--#include file="../adovbs.inc"--> 5. <!--#include fi

Unable to Show Edit item Links in Data Form Web Part

I have a DFWP connected to custom list and the boxes to Show Edit Item Links, Show Delete item links and Show Insert Item links are grayed out so that they can not be checked. This works fine when I use a DFWP connected to a standard list (i.e., Contacts). Is there something special that needs to be done to activate this functionality?ThanksDean

Custom Edit form - close modal dialog and navigate to page

Hi, I created one custom edit form for my document library, replaced default save and cancel buttons with input buttons and added the form action to them. Then I set my page as default edit form. When I click edit button, my custom form opens in modal pop up. When I try to save the item by clicking new save button, item gets saved but pop remains as it is. Now, I want the modal pop up to get closed and navigate to page other than the parent page with some parameters after I click save button. How can I achieve this? Thanks!!

Form Display is very slow to display, (using large multi-select lists)

Hi, I am looking for some suggestions on how to speed up a few very slow forms. We have created some Leaver and Joiner type forms for our IT guys. They contain some lookup data , and we need to pick multiple values from a hidden list. Unfortunately this (Systems/Roles) list is large (3000 rows and growing). On a couple of forms there are 2 of these multi-select boxes, and things are getting pretty slow to display. Any suggestions? ---------- Background Info / things I have tried: The forms are based on Site content types and Site Columns. A set of 5 Combo boxes is slower than one Multi-select list. SPDesigner is available but I do not have Central Admin rights I am not alowed to write/install custom code on the server. (Visual Studio code / Codeplex code / extra Features etc) :-( I have had to resize the Multi-select list, so am using the SPServices JQuery call to make the multi-select box wide enough for the text. But this is extra overhead so I might have to back that out / replace with a fixed width for the multiselect box (if I can find it's id, so I can do that in Javascript). Filtering the Multi-select box is possible, but only after the page has initially loaded (it seems) (again I tried the SPServices Jquery call) The Company intend to add more Content types, so I am trying to avoid a custom Newform.aspx for each type (Leaver / New Joiner / Transfer/ C

Using the Inventory Tracking Template - how to edit the "log a sale" form

We are using the Inventory Tracking Template.  Although its a good form as is there are a few modifications that would make it even better.

When you use the "Log a sale" feature - the new form pops up with the title "Transactions: New Item"   - every item has an associated Category.   We have many items and need a way to filter them so the user doesn't have to scroll through so many items.  I thought using the category field would be best.   In a perfect world the user selects the category in the form and then the form only shows the items in that category that are available.  How do i acomplish this?

Thanks in advance for your help (and patience)

Page load very slow

I've developed a web page Client.aspx that is used for  editing a client. This application has been deployed and I made sure that debug='false'.
Upon selecting a client from the dropdownlist, his/her information is retrieved for editing. This retrieving process is very slow( about 9 seconds).
Except this DropDownList, all the other controls on this page are within the Update Panel. There are 2-3 other Update Panels within the main Update Panel.

When a client is selected from the DropDownList, the Client_ID (DataValueField) is used to retrive the information
This method returns a dataset.
In the calling method I'm assigning these values to the respective fields.

Some JavaScript is used for validating Phone#.

I also have a RadioButtonList on this page. When one of the ListItem is selected I need to disable a TextBox. Even this process is taking much time than expected.

Any suggestions on speeding up my application would be greatly appreciated.
