SP 2010 Content Organizer between sites (instructions linked)

Posted By:      Posted Date: October 12, 2010    Points: 0   Category :SharePoint

Anyone that can comment on this, please do.  I am on a client site and I am setting up a poc for a client using the Content Organizer feature.  I wanted to use the Content Organizer to move a document from a top-level site to a subsite but was unable to until I created a submission point using the instructions linked below.

Only when I created that entry in Central Administration, did the subsite become available in the Content Organizer Rule drop-down with the heading "Target Location > Another content organizer in a different site:"

It works great now, I could have used an SPD workflow as well but I wanted to see if I could get the Content Organizer to go what I wanted it to first.

web sites made with visual webdeveloper express 2010

Good evening,

just a quick question, are there a lot of developers using  the express edition to make web sites, or is it limited to what you can do, and I would be  better getting the full edition visual studio 2010. I have been using dreamweaver, but I wanted to try my hand at asp.net, thx for any info you can offer.

Linked server to access 2010

I keep getting an error when setting up a linked server in sql 2008 R2 x64 to a microsoft access database file (mdb or accdb file).  (The problem occurs on computers with either the 32-bit or 64-bit version of ms office installed).  What are the proper connection string settings?  (This is after right clicking linked servers in ssms and selecting "add new linked server")  The below settings don't work: Provider (from dropdown): Microsoft Office 12.0 Access Database ENgine OLE DB Provider Product name: Access Data source: C:\foopath\foo.mdb  --also doesn't work for foo.accdb Provider string: Microsoft.ACE.OLEDB.12.0 An exception occurred while executing a Transact-SQL statement or batch. OLE DB provider "Microsoft.ACE.OLEDB.12.0" for linked server "MYLINKEDSERVER" returned message "Could not find installable ISAM.". (Microsoft SQL Server, Error: 7303) I got some exotic errors when following the directions in Books Online (under sp_addlinkedserver). For example: OLE DB provider 'Microsoft.Jet.OLEDB.4.0' cannot be used for distributed queries because the provider is configured to run in single-threaded apa

How to develop Common Content or Application pages in Sharepoint 2010, with respect to the customiz

I have a top level site and subsites (which might be around 10). Where as the top level site represents a common landing page and each sub site represents a client site to which user will be directed upon login. This is a PUBLISHING web site. I need to design to start with common pages across all clients and if there is a need let the client to customize the common page accroding to their need. This is a PUBLISHING site so all these common pages should have Web parts zones with authoring capabilities. What is the best way of achieving this?

SharePoint 2010 Search Service Application: "All Content" scope contains 0 items?

I've encountered a nasty bug in our setup. Our Search Service Application manages to crawl all content just fine. However, the scopes don't work. We've got a total of 570 items currently in our crawl database. 350 of these are of class 'People', and appear in the 'People' scope. The remaining 220 items should appear in 'All Content' as part of the intra (sites, documents etc), however the 'All Content' scope reports 0 items. I've tried the following: -Creating custom scopes (still 0 items) -Recreating the Search Service Application twice -Tried different accounts as the content access account. -Ensuring that the content access accounts do have 'full read policy' -Checked the crawl log for successful content (such as sites and documents). However, despite my efforts I still get 0 items for 'All Content'.  Has anyone else encountered this problem, or do you have any recommendation for us? Currently I don't see any other option than to reinstall everything.
