Unable to construct SerializerProvider on Windows 7(64-Bit machine)

Posted By:      Posted Date: October 12, 2010    Points: 0   Category :.NET Framework

I have an application which is target at any CPU.  Under 32-bit system, it works fine, but on Windows 7(64-bit machine), I have an exception when trying to construct SerializerProvider, which seems trying to read the registry key "HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\WinFX Serializers" and get access is denied error. I do find out that if I build the application target at x86 and run the application as Administrator, it works fine, but that is not I wanted and also restrict to do so.

Does anyone know a solution to this? Thank you in advance.

Do SharePoint 2007 and VS2010 have to be installed to the same Windows Server machine?

For WSS 3.0 development using VS 2005, I learned that we need to install VSeWSS to the Windows Server where the WSS 3.0 was installed.  For MOSS 2007 development using VS 2010, do we need to have VS 2010  nstalled to the same Windows Server?  Thanks, Jeffrey

Unable to install SQL Server 2005 SP2 - Unable to install Windows Installer MSI File

I have been trying to figure out how to fix this problem for the past couple of days and I was unable to find an answer to my specific problem in the forum. My OS is Windows XP Professional SP3 on MacBook Pro, using Parallels Desktop 4.0. Every single time Windows update tries to install SQL Server 2005 SP2, it fails. I am using Business Contact Manager with Outlook 2007 and SQL Server stops randomly and I am forced to restart the software. I am not sure if it is relevant to this specific problem but I thought I would make a note of this.I have downloaded SP2 and tried to install it locally but that did not work. Error installing SQL Server 2008 R2 on a Windows 7 Ultimate 32 machine

HI all, I'm installing the Developer edition of MS SQL Server 2008 R2 (downloaded today) on a Windows 7 Ultimate 32bit virtual machine (using VMWare Workstation 6.5).  Yesterday I had tried MS SQL Server 2008 R0 with the same results.  Both give an error about 30% into the installation process: "An error occurred during the installation of assembly 'VSLangProj80,Version="8.0.0.0",PublicKeyToken="b03f5f7f11d50a3a",Culture="neutral",FileVersion="8.0.50727.1826"' When I click the OK button, the install rolls that last bit back and then continues.  Unfortunatly I didn't take a screenshot of the main install window, just the error window. Any ideas what this error means?  The install yesterday seemed to work, but I'm not through the R2 install yet.  The R0 install also failed to install the documentation for some reason (I left it running during the night) Note that I have VS2010 (original release plus downloaded updates) installed and then just some small stuff like Snagit and Skype on this VM.  I updated Windows 7 completely before I started installing R2 so it is completely up to date as of midnight! Using WCF unable to transfer bulk data in windows base application

Hi, I am testing bulk data transfer over WCF service and my project structure is as follows. Project Structure: 1> One Console application that have the WCF service reside of it. 2> One Class library that contain the interface and a class file that implement the interface. 3> Another Windows Application type project act as a client interface that call the service using proxy. Now the scenario I have is as follows: 1> Inside of the console application their is a module that have the (following server side code) .This service is hosted in the Console app programmatically (No config file). Server Code: Dim x As New NetTcpBinding(SecurityMode.None)         With x             .TransactionFlow = False             .TransferMode = TransferMode.Streamed             .MaxReceivedMessageSize = Integer.MaxValue             .CloseTimeout = New TimeSpan(0, 10000, 0)             .OpenTimeout = New TimeSpan(0, 10000, 0)             .ReceiveTimeout = New TimeSpan(0, 10000, 0)       &n

windows 7/vista unable to remember

I don't know if this is the right place for the question. It's related to sharepoint.. but the problem (i think) lies in the client side.
We've got a problem with remembering credentials on a network drive to a sharepoint portal. A client vista or W7 computer maps z: to a sharepoint portal for easy access to a document library. Everything works, but after every reboot the client has to reenter the password. The client os displays the password in the vault. But is doesn't remember the password for the mapping. adding ip, dns name etc to trusted or intranet zones didn't work. setting the security in the GPO Network security: LAN Manager authentication level to "Send LM & NTLM - use NTLMv2 session security if negotiated" didn't work either.

Is there something I'm missing here?

SQL Server 2008 r2 developer RTM edition not installing on windows 7 64 bit machine with latest serv

This machine had sql server 2008 installed.  I removed it since the upgrade would not work.   The machine currently doesn't have any sql installs.    The error fails during the Setup Support Files step.    Any help on this would be greatly appreciated.  I've included last part of file since you can only include 60k chars here.

Execute process on remote machine from windows service

Hi,

I am using Windows Management Instrumentation (WMI) to connect to a remote system. I am connecting to a remote system and executing an exe on the remote system. This works if it is a normal exe. I am passing the user name and the password as well.

But when I use the same code in a Windows Service, I get an error which says "Access is Denied." My requirement is to invoke the exe (every 2 hours) on client system from a windows service on the server.

My code looks like this:

Dim

processHandle As Integer
Dim connection
