Adding additional fields to my custom membership provider

Hi, i have been playing around with the membership provider model for the last week and have it got it working with a basic table schema.  The trouble i have is that i wish to add an additional field (eg First Name) but am not sure how i can do this.  Here's what i have so far: public override MembershipUser CreateUser(string username, string password, string email, string passwordQuestion, string passwordAnswer, bool isApproved, object providerUserKey, out MembershipCreateStatus status)    {        MembershipUser user = new MembershipUser(Name, username, providerUserKey, email, passwordQuestion, null, isApproved, false, DateTime.Now, DateTime.Now, DateTime.Now, DateTime.Now, DateTime.Now);        string sql = "INSERT INTO USERS(USERNAME,PASSWORD,EMAIL,ISACTIVE) VALUES(@UID,@PWD,@EMAIL,@ISACTIVE)";        db.AddParameter("@UID", username);        db.AddParameter("@PWD", password);        db.AddParameter("@EMAIL", email);        db.AddParameter("@ISACTIVE", (isApproved == true ? "Y" : "N"));        int i = db.ExecuteNonQuery(sql);

Cutting Edge: Custom Data Control Fields

In ASP. NET 2. 0, the GridView and DetailsView controls are designed to work together. They don't merely provide complementary services, they also share a number of helper classes and components. The output of the GridView control consists of a sequence of rows, each with a fixed number of columns.

Need to pass parameters from URL to fields in Custom List

I have a complex customized list and I need to pass parameters of two fields so that when the 'Questionnaire' is completed and subsequentially opened after initial submission, it will retrieve the Number and GUID automatically in respective fields. I send an email out with a link to the 'Form' that carries the parameters. I am trying to use the following javaScript but am unsure as to where to place this on the SharePoint page for it to work.

<script type="text/javascript">

function loadFormVars()
getQuerystring('CustodianGUID', 'ctl00_m_g_d08916d8_7224_4665_be72_2de381f45985_ff46_1'); ///replace
customerGUID and form field name
'ctl00_m_g_d08916d8_7224_4665_be72_2de381f45985_FormField11_ctl00_ctl00_TextField'); ///replace customerGUID
and form field name

alert("it works");

function getQuerystring(key, field)
key = key.replace(/[\[]/,"\\\[").replace(/[\]]/,"\\\]");
var regex = new RegExp("[\\?&]"+key+"=([^&#]*)");
var qs = regex.exec(window.location.href);
document.getElementById(field).value = qs[1];

SharePoint makes Office Document custom fields unreadable

We're using WSS 3.0SP2 with a Document Library that has document-level columns (fields) added. The columns (fields) are defined as single-line text; nothing fancy. In SharePoint we can set the field values no problem. When we pull the documents back out of SharePoint to the file systsem, and look at the Custom Fields, the values are unreadable gibberish. They look like graphics lines and boxes and the Type is set to Unknown.

Any ideas why this is happening and how to fix it?

How do you add duplicate fields to a SSRS custom report and receive differtent output values.

I have built a custom report in SSRS 2008 using fields for supplier and customer.   I have added a Parent Row Group using the Supplier field for the group expression and used the Customer Details as my child details group. This returns a list of all customers for each supplier.   (Supplier | = Customer details ( Name, Dob etc.)   How would I add an additional Supplier field to the customer details returning only values for other Suppliers used by a customer, not the value of the Supplier listed in the Parent Group?

Customized list forms and additional fields afterwards

Hello, Sometimes I need to customize a list form, e.g. when some fields should not be displayed when adding an item, but they should be displayed when editing an item. In those cases I open SharePoint Designer, and I search the form that needs customisation. I hide the original (default) form, and I add a customized list form and delete the fields that I don't need in that form. It also happens that afterwards I need to add a new column to the list, that should also be displayed in the customized form. On default forms, this field will be added automatically, but not in customized forms. Currently I just go to the code view, and type in the code myself, with the correct internalfieldnames etc. Is there an easier way to do this, e.g. with some kind of wizard to add a list column to the customized form that will generate the correct code automatically for me ? That would be easier than thinking of unique field ids every time (I use date/time for that now, but it gives large ids...). Thanks in advance!

Details View Biding Custom Object with Enum properties fields

Hello, I'm trying to bind custom object to details view. The problem is that enum property fields are not show.Is there any way to show enum property fields in details view ?I put some example code below (I do not specify any rows mappings, they are generated dynamically because different kind of objects are bound to details view):// My object public class OrderItem { public ItemKindEnum unitemizedItemKind { get { return (ItemKindEnum)this.unitemizedItemKindID; } } ... } // Details view configuration <asp:DetailsView ID="dvOperationDetails" runat="server" DefaultMode="ReadOnly" ... />

How do I add additional information to email message

I have a contact form that has the standard email fields such as name, email, street address, city, state, and body.  This is being done with System.Net.Mail.  I understand how to use the body, to/from address, and subject.  I don't understand how to include the street address, city, and state with the email though.  I want this additional information to be sent with the email some how so the recipient can have access to it.  I assume this should be included with the body when the email is sent.  I don't understand the best way to so this though.  I thought about appending the values of these fields to the body of the email.  I don't know how to format this so it looks good though.  The formatting I want to do is very basic.  I would like each of these values to be on a separate line before or after the body of the email.  I'm not interested in colors or anything too fancy.   I prefer to send a plain text email, if possible, if these values can be included on their own line.Can anyone provide an example or a link to an article on this?  Do I have to use an html formatted email and create new lines with in the body for these fields?

Custom Fields not showing up in NewForm

Hello everybody,   I have got a very strange problem. I got two SP-Websites with several lists on them. Both have the same ContentTypes added (Standard CT is a Document-derived CT) however the 'Folder'-derived CT (including some additional fields like internal SAP numbers) is behaving differently in the lists. On the one List when I click on 'New Document'-'TestFolder' it is displaying all the added fields and in the other list it is only displaying the 'Name'-Field.   I have compared all the attributes of the Lists and also of the added Columen via Sharepoint Manager 2010 and found no differences whatsoever between them. It seems to be another problem caused by via Site-Template generated SP-Websites (including the libaries). When I create a new List on the Website and add the CT to the List all fields get displayed correctly? What could be the problem here with the Template-based lists?   Has anyone encountered the same problem once? Thank you for your help! Best regards, Martin

Problem with Update of Sharepoint Taxonomy Fields in custom developed Content Types

Dear all, we developed an solution on sharepoint 2010 for one of our customers with custom lists and content types with fields from the managed meta data store. As recommended we developed everything in features & solutions so that easy deployment is possible. Adding metadata to the termstore seems to work without problems, but today we stepped over an confusing issue: Our customer changed the default label of an term in the metadata term store, but the label did not change in listviews and detailviews of items in the specific sitecollection. In editview we see the correct label. After searching a while we discovered the connection between the sitecollection and the term store, the hidden Taxonomylist (/Lists/TaxonomyHiddenList/AllItems.aspx) in the sitecollection, which seems to map the terms. After testing we discovered that the term/label did also not change in the hidden taxonomy list. The Timerjob “Taxonomy Update Scheduler“ is running hourly with success and we also tried to start the job manually, but the label did not change in the hidden list. Also there are no errors in the logfiles in verbose mode. We also tested to create a managed metadata field manually, put it in a list and after that, changed the label. For whatever reason the update of labels on manually created fields works without a problem. Our lists, content types etc get created pr

supported column types that can be used as additional fields with a Lookup column?

Can anyone tell me which types of columns can be used as additional fields for a Lookup column? Are they the same as the column types that can be used to create Lookup columns? Choice columns are currently not available (known issue) but I think they are officially supported. What about Managed Metadata columns? Thanks
