Rename Picture Library Image File Programmatically

Dear Experts and Forum Users,

I am stuck with renaming an image file type before it is actually saved to picture library. I am achieving this using a custom web part with file upload and a simple button control.

Please look at the code below (I have added comments so that it is easy for you to understand excactly what I am doing)

If FileUpload.HasFile Then
' Get extension of existing file
Dim ext as String = Path.GetExtension(FileUpload.PostedFile.FileName)
' Assign New Name - 'Test'
FileUpload.SaveAs(how to declare this path + "Test" + ext)
' Upload the Image to Picture Library
pictureLibraryList.RootFolder.Files.Add(FileUpload.FileName, streamImage)
' Finally Update the Picture Library
End If

Problems with this code

Firstly, it is not working because fileupload control method saveAs() and fileupload control method postedFile.saveAs() both require a rooted path in this case C:\inetput\images and not http:\\url\ some url pointing to picture library - how do I actually rename the file and also save it to the picture library ?

Please can you suggest a workaround for this.

Many Thanks,

Upload Multiple Documents to Asset Library fails for files >100 MB

The upload of large files > 100 MB fails with the "Upload Multiple Documents / Drag & Drop"-Feature, where it is no problem to upload the failed files as single file via Upload Document - "Browse..." with filesize up to 2GB.

Any workaround or configuration tricks known?

failed to upload multiple files to a document library!

I have a document library. I have upload a lots of files by upload multiple documents function several days ago. When I tried to upload some files today. It always failed if I drag a folder into the upload multiple documents dialog.

Drag a folder with any number of files in it to the upload multiple documents dialog. Failed.
Drag files into the upload multiple documents dialog. Sucess.
Create a folder manually, then upload files into the new folder. success.

Anybody have some clues for this problem. Why today I always failed to upload files when I drag a folder?

Thanks very much.

User Profile Picture Mapping - Use existing SharePoint image library?

In SharePoint 2007 we did not use the Profile Pictures, but would like to start using them.  At the time, a consultant set up a separate picture library for the employee photos that was managed by the HR department.  Is it possible to somehow map the Profile Picture property to the images in this library?  Or do we have to upload them to each user's profile?  Our AD administrators do not know how to set AD up to use the URLs, so coming at it from that angle was a dead end.

Upload a File to a SharePoint Document Library - Part I

The following helper class demonstrates a few techniques that allow documents to be uploaded to a SharePoint document library programmatically without using the API or a custom web service. You don't need to specify a document library name, and it will create any folders specified in the URL as required. File meta data will be updated if any properties are passed.

Issue With MOSS 2007 Picture library

We have a MOSS 2007 publishing portal. We are currently facing issues with Picture library created with default picture library template.Whenever we have tried to upload an image to the picture library I am getting "acess denied" error message, though I have full permission to the site level as well as to the library level.I have seen the pictures are getting uploaded and in "checked out" state. It does not show the "edit properties" page on upload and does not even allow the owner of the image to edit the properties, gives the same access denied error message.

I have also tried to check in the image files through the "management and content structure", but the images are not getting checked in. Please let me know the root cause of this and how we can resolve this.
