Unable to open a site in Sharepoint Designer

I am trying to connect my SharePoint Designer 2007 to sharepoint sites on a remote Windows Server 2003 created on ports other than 80. But it throws an error "The folder ['http://servername:12345/'] isn't accessible. The folder may be located in an unavailable location, protected with a password, or the filename contains a / or \."

But when I try to connect the port 80, it successfully does.

Unable to open document in IE From Sharepoint Site using Form authentication

I have created sharepoint site using MOSS 2007 and am using  "Form” Authentication.

After Successfully logging into site, when I attempt to open an MS office document from the document library, It pops up an authentication window. Once I close the authentication window, the document Opens, if I don’t close the authentication window, the document does not open.

This is happening only in Internet Explorer.Documents are opening without entering credentials in “google chrome” and “Mozilla”. The authentication pop-up itself does not appear.

Unable to open pdf from document library MOSS 2007

When I click on a pdf document uploaded in a document library it comes up with a blank page.

I guess it's trying to open pdf on the browser. I turned off "Display PDF in browser " option in Adobe Preferences, but it doesn't help, same issue.

I tried other browsers too, it's the same issue.

I am able to open all other pdf files local to my machine fine.

I am using IE 8 on my machine (Windows 7) and the Sharepoint server is MOSS 2007.

Anonymous Web Site receives "The request failed with HTTP status 401: Unauthorized"

I set up a test website on my local box and was able to access sharepoint search using the querySearch web service from SP.  After I got it all working properly I transferred the code to the target website that is set up with anonymous access for all people on the fab floor.  However from this website I keep getting the 401 error.  It can't be SP because the same code worked from my local website "localhost".  Any suggestions?  we don't want to have to have the fab people log in so we can't not have the box anonymous.  I would appreciate any suggestions very much!!!

Can't open site in Designer/ Can't open files in Designer

I'm having trouble in Designer 2007.  I can not open any sites files on sites on our prodution server.  I get "Couldn't open file ..........aspx".  On our development server I can't even open sites.  I get "Invalid folder name".  Can anyone please advise?  I have seen other posts about this behavior, but none of the solutions have worked for me.  I've uninstalled Expression Web, I don't have Front Page installed, and I ran a repair installation on Designer.  Still no luck.  Any ideas please?

On previos Domain our webiste is running smooth, but i copied all webiste data and put in new server. I restore  the database from Old server to New server. I craeted a Virtual directory in IIS and set all net neccesssy parameters as required. But when I am trying to access the website I am Facing this Problem       Description: An application error occurred on the server. The current custom error settings for this application prevent the details of the application error from being viewed remotely (for security reasons). It could, however, be viewed by browsers running on the local server machine. Details: To enable the details of this specific error message to be viewable on remote machines, please create a <customErrors> tag within a "web.config" configuration file located in the root directory of the current web application. POSTing to a remote site and HTTP 302 redirection

hello everyone, Objective: POST data to a remote website and follow the 302 redirect response Synopsis: This works quite well in plain ASP.NET. I can POST to the remote site either using the asp form's action attribute or a button and it's PostBackUrl property. However as soon as I try to accomplish the same behavior inside a Sharepoint page it causes a lot of trouble. Scenario 1 (changing the form's action attribute - less preferred): Imagine this simple publishing aspx page (for what it's worth I encountered the exact same behavior using an application page). <input type="text" name="myField1" value="abc" /> <input type="text" name="myField2" value="abcdef" /> <input type="text" name="myField3" value="123" /> <input type="submit" value="submit now" /> Note that I need to use pure html controls because the remote site expects pre-defined names for these fields. And as we all know control naming is something we cannot really influence up to .NET framework 3.5SP1 (4.0 is supposed to help, right?). Anyway we still need to set the action attribute of the form. This is being done in the page's OnLoad() method. Result: The aspform is being posted to the remote site, the remote site responds with 302 and the browser redirects to the returned ur

can't open a site (new installation)

I've been using Sharepoint Designer 2007 on several different web servers.  So, I just installed 2010.  However, I cannot open a single site.  I can see the sites I've opened in the past, and when I double-click them, it gives a progress bar, but then fails after a while and doesn't even give an error message. Also, I must say, the user interface is just horrible.  Whose bright idea was it to force people not to have menus? But more urgently, can anyone tell me how to open a site?  Very, very disappointed here. - Pat

Unable to open design view

I have SSRS 2008(native), BIDS and VS  2008 (9.0.30729.1 SP) on Windows 7 Pro.I have a working report and today I cannot "View Designer" for my report. When I load the project, it automatically goes into rdl:code view. When I right click on the report, I see the option to view code or view designer, and select view designer, it produces a second copy of the rdl:code view. The rdl is good because: - I can build the project and the build succeeds. - I can run the rdl (right click, run) and it produces the preview of the report. Then, I started a new simple project, went through the wizard and still - no design view. This simple project also builds correctly and produces a preview report.I have checked this, and other forums but I find myself (sort of) alone in this quandary! So, how (and why) did I lose the designer view? Please help....Usman Suleman
