When I try and add a reference to Microsoft.Sharepoint.Search.dll, it does not appear in the "Add Reference" dialog under the ".NET" tab. I can browse to the file under program files\common files\microsoft shared\web server extensions\12\isapi\microsoft.sharepoint.search.dll.
If I select it there it adds the assembly into the web.config, but it will not compile due to "Could not load file or assembly" error.
Why is the dll not in the .Net tab? The sharepoint application is currently installed and running on the same server that I am trying to make the development changes on, so I believe that all should be working properly I just can't figure out why it
can't find the file to compile.
