Chart with DynamicHeight export issue

Posted By:      Posted Date: October 11, 2010    Points: 0   Category :Sql Server

I have developed a report, that is group by Practice/Clinic. Under this group I have added a bar chart that displays total patient count for a Provider/Doctor. I have added DynamicHeight property of the chart to (1 + (CountDistinct(Fields!ProviderUid.Value)/3)) & " in" so that it can scale up depending upon the number of providers in that practice. All works fine If I run the report for a single Practice.

When I run the same report for multiple practices,  the report viewer adjust the height of the chart properly depending upon number of provider for each group of practice, but when I try to export the report to PDF the problem starts. The height of the chart is same in all the group irrespective of the number of providers in that group, the size of the chart is decided by the number of providers in first group.

I am using Visual Studio 2010 to develop and execute the report for now.

ASP.NET Excel Export Issue

I am trying to export data from SP to a .xlsx sheet. Total no of rows is more  than 15000 with total of 13 columns. The data is generated with the help of SQL Server SP. Till this point it is working fine. However while exporting to excel I do not get any data , the excel  has blank content.

If I have records less than 12000 it generated the excel report with  relevant data. However as row increases the report is blank.

Also the excel is generated through the code but when I deploy to server and try to generate it generates a blank excel.

Please advice what needs to be done. I have tried multiple options but none works.

Issue with Picture Library Slideshow Web Part after export/import of site collection (SP2010)

I recently exported/imported an SP2010 site collection from Dev to Prod. The site collection had about 90 sites, which were all driven from a site template. Once the export/import had taken place, I created an additional 15 sites (in Prod), using the original site template that was created in the Dev environment. Everything seemed to be working just fine, but I found an issue with the Picture Library Slideshow Web Parts (PLSWP) on all the sites that were created in Prod. Basically, I have a Picture Library, and any pictures added to this library show up in the PLSWP. The original 80 site's PLSWP works fine, but the new 15 sites will not show the pictures through the PLSWP (the viewer just shows up blank). Here is the difference in the html output of the picture viewer:

Excel Export: Indentation/Padding issue

Hello Jerry and fellow RS forum members,

I noticed this section with respect to Excel export limitations from SSRS.

Show and Hide

Microsoft Excel has limitations with how it manages hidden and displayed report items when they are exported. Groups, rows, and columns that contain report items that can be toggled are rendered as Excel outlines. Excel creates outlines that expand and collapse rows and columns across the entire row or column which can cause the collapse of report items that are not intended to be collapsed. In addition, Excel's outlining symbols can become cluttered with overlapping outlines.

Now I have this basic report with a table data region having multiple groups. Each Parent Group provides a toggle capability (+/-) in front of it. Each text box for the grouped item has left padding set to provide indentation. Example:

+ Group A

    +  Group B

          + Group C

                   Detail data

The report displays perfectly fine within the HTML viewer and PDF export with proper indentation and padding obv

Export SSRS report to excel with data of pie chart

I am new to SSRS. I have a report with a pie chart . When I export the report in excel format, pie chart is displayed as picture. I want it to be displayed as editable pie chart with data.

The requirement is, if user want to change the data in excel sheet after exporting, changes should reflect in pie chart of that excel sheet.

Please suggest me the way of achieving it.

Issue with Excel and Word Export - SSRS 2008

Hi there,

I have created fairy simple report having a table in body section and Header, Footer. I have set the Report Properties

Orientation - Landscape

Paper Size - Custom

Width - 11in & Height - 8 in

Margins - Left 0.25 in , Right 0.25 in, Top 0.5 in, Botton 0.5 in

Issue NO 1: When i export the report to Excel, it takes margin as Left 0.75 in , Right 0.75 in, Top 1 in, Botton 1 in, because of this some part of my Report is cut. what should i do to keep margins of Excel as per margins set in RDL.

Issue No 2: In Footer excel shows Page 1 of 1 for all the pages

Expression used :

"Page" & Globals!PageNumber & " of " & Globals!TotalPages;

Issue No 3: when i export the Report to word, it does not consider landscape and show only middle part of report, cut rest of the report data.

Issue with SSRS Chart Dynamic width

I am using SSRS 2008. I am trying to use the Dynamic width and Dynamic height property of SSRS 2008. My SSRS chart has to display around 100 items on the x-axis. I am using the following formula depending on a report parameter =(Parameters!ReportParameter1.Value) & " in" to derive the width of the chart. The chart width is not  modified but I can see the the expression returning an valid value (ex: 10 in) and also the scroll bar size also changes but the chart's width(x-axis) is not increasing. Its still the old width.

Any help is highly appreciated.

Chart display issue with Moving Average Calculated Series

I have successfully produced a line graph containing 2 data series; a count of events by month and a moving average (5 month period) of said events.

My problem is trying to limit the chart to show ONLY a certain period of time.  In order to generate the Moving Average (calculated series) I had to make the query go further back in time to count the previous months' events.

For Example:  Chart should display Jan2010 through Oct2010, EventsPerMonth (series1), MovingAVG (series2).

At first it displayed back to the begining of the data which was Sept2009 - Oct2010.  I figured out how to cut it off at Jan2010 using the Horizontal Axis Properties > Scalar features.

Final issue: I need to get the first data point (Jan2010) off of the Y-axis as a starting point.  Basically I need to shift it one interval to right, leaving a space, so that there is no line connected between the data line and the Y-axis.

This is difficult to discribe, I apologize if this isn't super clear.

Thank you!

Export Visio Database Table Names to Excel

If you use the Enterprise Architect edition of Microsoft Visio for data modeling regularly, then there is a good chance that at some point you've wanted to export just the table names into Excel. You might want to do this to map logical ERD entities to physical data model tables, track project status by entity, or track overlap between database versions.

Export SharePoint List to Excel Spreadsheet Programmatically using C#

In SharePoint applications, Custom Lists are used to store business data and Document Libraries to store the documents. But for data manupulation and analysis, Microsoft Excel provides very rich features as compared to SharePoint Lists. That's why people still loves to work on Microsoft Excel Sheets.

Configuring Profile Image Export in SharePoint 2010

It's no secret that I am thrilled with the new social features of SharePoint 2010. I am most excited about the new Profile Picture handling. I strongly believe that the more we can show the faces of our colleagues to one another the more connected we will feel. Clearly Microsoft feels that way as witnessed by the many features that make use of the Profile Image like the Activity Feed and Colleagues list
