ws:securityPolicy 1.3 - when will it be supported?

Posted By:      Posted Date: October 11, 2010    Points: 0   Category :WCF
.Net 3.0 and 3.5 support the ws:securityPolicy 1.2 (http://docs.oasis-open.org/ws-sx/ws-securitypolicy/v1.2/ws-securitypolicy.html - namespace http://docs.oasis-open.org/ws-sx/ws-securitypolicy/200702 )

In 2009, a new version was published - v1.3 http://docs.oasis-open.org/ws-sx/ws-securitypolicy/v1.3/ws-securitypolicy.html - namespace http://docs.oasis-open.org/ws-sx/ws-securitypolicy/200802

It's understandable it's not in 3.5, but it doesn't seem to be supported in .net 4 either.

Are there any plans to support it?

Can Not load WPF project in Visual Studio 2005 on Win7 64 system, says "Project file not supported b

Dear all I am facing an issue in creating new wpf project or loading a WPF project in Visual studio 2005. I have installed Visual Studio 2005 Service pack - 1 (http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?familyid=bb4a75ab-e2d4-4c96-b39d-37baf6b5b1dc&displaylang=en) but still I can not see the option for wpf project  while creating a new project. Generally we can see WPF listing under item File -->New-->Project--> ".Net Framework 3.0" in VS 2005. I have few WPF project and when i try to load them it says "Project file not supported by this Installation". My System Config is given below: OS: Windows 7 (64 Bit) VS: Visual Studio 2005 with Service Pack 1 .Net Framework: 3.5 (By default inbuilt in Win7 OS)   I am suspecting something bugging related to .Net framework 3.0 in Win7. We have one option in control panel to alter .NetFramework 3.5 under "Turn Windows Features on or Off" but there I can not see something related to 3.0 :-(.   Kindly suggest how can I load my existing project and how can enable option to create new wpf Projects.   I saw few solutions suggested by people on following Thread bt most of them related to Windows XP or Vista: http://social.msdn.microsoft.com/Forums/en/vswpfdesigner/thread/06cf7bca-982c-44cf-aec9-99cf399b3000 Do someone has solution for Windows 7 (64 bit OS)

Is there an official and supported forum where I can ask a PowerPivot question?

I have a question about installing the SQL Server PowerPivot for Excel add-in. I realize that there is a Microsoft forum specifically for this add-in at http://social.msdn.microsoft.com/Forums/en-US/sqlkjpowerpivotforexcel/threads, however, that forum is not listed on the MSDN Subscriptions page of forums with Priority Subscriber Support. I asked my question there but no one responded to me. Is there a forum with Priority Subscriber Support where I can get an official response for my question? Basically, I can't get the add-in to install on Windows 7 64-bit, for either the 32-bit version of Excel 2010 (my preferred scenario) or even the 64-bit version of Excel 2010. I mean, it installs fine but Excel won't load it. Thanks, Chuck

Convert Q&A database (symantec) to SSIS supported database?

Hi Guys, What are the possible ways of converting Q&A  database (symantec) to SSIS supported database? Any clue will be of great help~Technology Analyst~

How to fix "Validation(): Element 'xxxx' is not supported" Visual Studio 2010

Since about a month ago,I started to get validation warnings at design time on asp.net server controls (any control actually) within the html design view for VS 2010,intellisense on all controls would not work at all,the messages look like this: Validation(): Element 'Label' is not supported. Validation(): Element 'GridView' is not supported ....etc The compilation done successfully but the warnings still exist and intellisense is not working at the source tab I tried to reset the settings of VS 2010 ,disabled all extensions and few other ideas but none of them solved the issue,I got stuck. I did a search over the internet about this issue and found this article on Doug Kennard's blog: http://www.gotknowhow.com/articles/fix-validation-element-not-supported-visual-studio-2010 Splendid, that article is a life savior.

Installing Microsoft.ACE.OLEDB.12.0 on a shared server--supported or not?

Here's the scenario: we have a Web application that needs to open an Excel 2007 file, read the sheet names and pass the sheet selected by a user to a SSIS package for processing on the DB server. During development, we discovered that the Microsoft Access Database engine (Microsoft.ACE.OLEDB.12.0) is required for our application to perform these tasks when running on a 64-bit server. Details: ASP.NET 4/VS 2010/SSIS on SQL 2008 R2; 32-bit environments have no issues; 64-bit requires installation of the provider. We followed this link to get the components: http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?familyid=C06B8369-60DD-4B64-A44B-84B371EDE16D&displaylang=en We have installed the components and everything works great in our development and test environments. However, we must deploy to a 64-bit environment that is controlled by our customer's IT group, not by us. They are balking at installing the components because of the following statements that appear on the download page in the "Additional Information" section: "The Office System Drivers are only supported under certain scenarios, including: " Desktop applications which read from and write to various files formats including Microsoft Office Access, Microsoft Office Excel and text files. To transfer data between supported file formats and a database repository such as SQL Server; in the

SSRS 2008 on cluster suggested/supported?

Hello all, I am a windows admin with intermediate knowledge of SQL Server and its components like SSRS. Anyway, I built a production SQL2008 cluster successfully. The head developer also wanted to install SSRS2008 on one of the nodes along with a custom .NET framework application. Needless to say I did get SSRS2008 installed on the active node, but starting having problems with the cluster services and other strange happenings. So I removed SSRS2008 from the node and created a VM, installed SSRS2008 ENT(gonna have to uninstall/reinstall Standard) on that and created the databases via the config wizard and this vm is also running the custom .NET framework application. All of the DBAs agreed that this should have not been installed on the cluster. Now I have to justify why I did this...... 1. For a Production cluster environment isn't is suggested to have ssrs installed on a separate server with it's database housed on the cluster? ( I was told this was an "old school" way of thinking by the developer). 2. Is having SSRS installed on one node of the cluster supported by Microsoft?  In my humble opinion, a database cluster is meant for housing databases only for high availability and nothing else should be present on these two nodes.  Is there any documentation for SSRS that suggests the seperate server deployment rather than including t

The project type is not supported by this installation

Hi, We have moved a Visual Studio 2008 project (containing a few web parts) from MOSS 2007 to a SP 2010 server. When we try to load the project in Visual Studio 2008 on the SP 2010 server we see: "The project file xxx cannot be opened. The project type is not supported by this installation". Ok - we then remembered that VSeWSS 1.3 was installed on the MOSS 2007 server when the project was created. Trying to install VSeWSS 1.3 on the SP 2010 server we see: "This product can only be installed if WSS 3.0 has been installed first". What now? Must we install VS 2010 on the SP 2010 server and then convert all VS 2008 projects to VS 2010? Can we (for a while) install solutions (on the SP 2010 server) developed in VS 2008 on MOSS 2007 server?

Only a single enumeration is supported by this IEnumerable.

I've only seen a few other posts on the internet about this error message, and none of them seem to give an answer that's relevant to Silverlight asynchronous code. I have a data service operation, I call it from a Silverlight client. I know the service operation is returning the desired data, because I have tested the code in a synchronous aspx page load and browsed it with the debugger. However, whether I have the service operation method return an IQueryable or an IEnumerable, I can't iterate through the results in the Silverlight client code - I receive the error in the title of this post. I can't do a foreach, I can't do a for loop, I can't do a ToList, they all give that error. private void on_oppquery(IAsyncResult result) { /*Use dispatcher to ensure that the asynch call returns in the correct thread*/ Dispatcher.BeginInvoke(() => { IEnumerable<opportunity> response = null; try { /*Since this is the first page, we get back the query*/ var query = result.AsyncState as DataContext; /*Get the response of the query*/ response = query.EndExecute<opportunity>(result); /*Enumeration executes the query*/ //THIS BREAKS //response.ToList<opportunity>(); //THIS BREAKS //foreach (opportunity o

SS2008 Supported on Windows Server 2008 Small Business

I am planning to install Sql Server 2008 x64 on Windows Server 2008 x64. My question : Is it only SqlServer2008 Standard Edition x32 supported on SBS2008? I checked the chart of the SW requirements and I am not sure about it.

protocol version is not supported

Hi, I encountered an exception when running an application on Windows 7: the code: skt = new Socket(AddressFamily.InterNetwork, SocketType.Stream, ProtocolType.Tcp); skt.Connect(ipAddress, 7000); threw  "procotol version is not supported" exception. The same application runs correctly on Windows XP. Is there any settings I need to do on Windows 7, or I need to change my C# code?   Thanks a lot!

Requested Conversion is not supported, error while processing the partition

I have read the other topics that are related this issue and I thought that my issue was related as well until I checked the datatypes of all my measures and made sure that they indeed could be inherited properly.   I even went as far as deleting all measures out the measure group and I still recieved this error.   Is there a way I get more detailed information on what is not being converted properly?  The error is so vague and again, I have thouroughly checked my datatypes and they are fine and why would the partition not process, throwing me the exact same error when I decided to take out all measures in the measure group.   Here the second strange thing, I know that it has to be data related because I also ran the process structure and that finished with success. Please let me know if there is a better way to find the problem child or problem children pertaining to my measure group when processing data Here is a last thought, do you think that it could have something to do with the datasize?  I know SSAS automatically converts the datasize and I see several in my measures that have a zero for the size, I am speculating that could be wrong but is there a way I can check the datasize by running the script on my fact table?   ThanksNetwork Analyst
