How to programmatically POST data to an aspx page?

Hi everyone,

I'm trying to POST data to an aspx page.

I've got a button click event (btnSend_Click) within which I want to programmatically POST data ("key1=value1", "key2=value2") to another aspx page ("ReceivingPage.aspx") on my site.  It would be very easy to do if it were a GET, cos I'd just append the data key/values to a query string of a HyperLink control. But How do I do this as a POST?

Thanks for the help.

Note Board Web Part usage for video comments

I have developed a video sharing website. I actually wants all the videos to be commented. Only one video can be viewed as a time, it is the behavior of the page. I have added Note Board web part to this page. Videos are displaying on the basis of query string parameter ID. I want that only comments for specific video which is currently being played will be visible in this web part rather than displaying all comments.

Can you please help me out to solve my problem?

Using the social comment note board in a web part page results in incomplete URL

Hi

If I create a wiki page and add the note board webpart, then construct a URL for the page which contains a parameter (ie.  home.aspx?tn=1), and add a note, then that note will only display if the "?tn=1" parameter is included in the URL.

However, if instead I use a web part page, (and leave the URL for Notes property blank) the Note Board ignores the parameter in the URL.   I can add the full url with parameters in the "URL for Notes" property for the web part, and it will store and retrieve properly.

I want to use a web part page with a Note Board web part,  but have it act like the wiki page when saving notes to specific URLs, including parameters.  Is there a work around for this?

Note Board Web Part : How to make links clickable?

Greetings,

A growing number of people within our org are using the Note Board webpart (a great thing!). However, it turns out that the Web Part doesn't handle links very well; they can be pasted into a note, but when pasted, they're not active as hyperlinks (need to be copied and pasted to be used).

Is there any way to add clickable links to notes?

Thanks for your help!

SharePoint 2010 - Note Board Webpart Setting

In SharePoint 2010 we have the "Note Board" webpart on the user profile page. We can set how many items it should show before the pagination occurs(default is 3). However I cannot find any setting(or any documentation) about how long(1 month,6 month,etc.) the comment will show up on the note board. What's the default duration of a comment on a user's "Note Board" before it expires? Can we override this setting?

SharePoint Social Computing - "Note Board" posts not visible to other users

The "Note Board" feature does not seem to be work correctly for me. As per the documentation, Note Board is a place where users can post comments which can viewed by other users.

However in my 2010 site, only the user who adds the comment can see it. [i..e If user A adds "post1" to the note board of a page, then the post does not appear for User B. If user A checks, the post is available.]

For tags, it is possible for an user to mark the tag as private. there is no such provision for a note.

Adding a second (unique) Note Board web part to a single Web Page?

Greetings,

I was asked by a user if she could add a second Note Board web part to a single web page. It seems - and I just want to confirm - that the answer is no.

Adding a second note board web part results in a second note board being added, but pulling the same content as the 1st part - replicating the 1st, rather than creating a unique second.

In that way, the Note Board web part seems tied very closely to the page (since I can't find its related list or other information elsewhere through GUI).

But, perhaps there's a way, on a single page, to tell the page to distinguish between two different note board web parts and their respective content/lists?

Thanks!

Post back puzzle

Hi, I have a website where the user makes a selection from a combo box and it then fills a couple text boxes with text based upon the selection. I'm sure as you know it could take a second for the text to appear in the text box due to the post back. I know there is no way to make it instantanious, so what I would like to do it fill the text box with somthing like "Loading Info..." so the user does not type in it while the information is loading.

If you would like to see what I mean please go to this page: www.epiclinks.com/create.aspx and mess around with the combo boxes and You'll see what I mean.

What I would like to do is have it do a post back to write "Loading Info..." and then do another post back to fill it in based upon their selection. How would I do this?

I'm up for anything, so if you have a better solution than that please let me know.

Thanks.

using the linqDataSource control programmatically (dynamically)

Hello,

my scenario is this: I want to use the linqDataSource control to bind data to a gridview for it's efficient built-in paging and sorting features *but* I don't want the data to be bound until the user has input various search parameters, so I need to bind the data from a button click event. Also, the search options will be somewhat complex in that there will be several optional search parameters, via various dropdowns and textboxes, so I can't just declaratively/statically setup all the WHERE parameters on the linqDataSource (at least I'm assuming I can't, or that it may result in poor performance if I do and just assign default values like the everything wildcard '%' for the cases the user doesn't use a particular search parameter). Given that brief description, here is an example of what I'm doing, but with only one WHERE parameter for simplicity, the real code will be adding anywhere from 1 to about 12 WHERE parameters depending on how the user sets the search options in the GUI.

the linqDataSource on the aspx page:

<asp:LinqDataSource ID="ldsMain" runat="server"
        ContextTypeName="myProject.myProjectDataContext"
        Select="new (field1, field2, field3, etc..)"
        TableName="theTableName">
</asp:LinqDat
