Sharepoint 2010 + SSRS 2008 R2 (CU3)

Posted By:      Posted Date: October 11, 2010    Points: 0   Category :SharePoint

Scenario:

An RDL is added to a list.  The RDL is clicked and it renders the report and data , while the parameters have a non empty default value. (pefect world)

An RDL is added to a list.  the RDL is clicked and it renders, you fill the parameters, and click apply, then the reports renders fine (Again perfect world).  From here you change a parameter and click apply to see the changes, and a javascript error occurrs, with 'null' is not an object error.  And ideas?

Thanks.

AAM Problem with SSRS 2008 R2 and Sharepoint 2010

I have a single server farm with Sharepoint 2010 and SQL 2008 R2 installed. I have an extranet zone configured - and this is working fine from the internet via a Forefront TMG box.  All features in the farm, including Performance Point pieces (reports/dashboards etc) are working fine via the extranet zone except for Reporting Services reports (these are working fine in the internal/default zone).  I can see the report library, and the individual report items via the extranet, but when I try to view a report, I get this:

" The Web application at https://extranet.company.asia/client/Report Library/Spend by Media Owner.rdl could not be found. Verify that you have typed the URL correctly. If the URL should be serving existing content, the system administrator may need to add a new request URL mapping to the intended application."

My understanding is that multiple zones are now supported in Sharepoint 2010/SSRS 2008 integrations, and that AAM should propagate automatically (?).  Can anyone assist in helping me understand where to look next?

many thanks,

Steve.

SSRS 2008 R2 and Sharepoint 2010 - performance problems

Hi all,

I'm currently in a DWH project using SSRS 2008 R2 x64 in Sharepoint Integrated mode along with Sharepoint 2010, and we're seeing massive performance problems even though traffic on the server is at a bare minimum. We're in development with a maximum of a few users online at any given time and the server itself isn't doing a whole lot...cpu is usually < 20%. We have timed the database queries and 90% of them are taking less than a second to execute while reports takes anywhere from 5 to 30 seconds to load (some heavier reports can occasionally take a lot longer). I am simply unable to get anything to load in less than 5 seconds, even the simples grid from a SELECT TOP 5 * FROM table query takes this long.

The server setup is suboptimal as SQL Server, Reporting Services and Sharepoint are all running on the same virtual machine but with the minimal amount of traffic we have this shouldn't really be a problem. The server is a Win 2008 x64 Datacenter with 4 CPU's and 16GB RAM.

A standard sharepoint page that gets data from the database is returned in milliseconds...why doesn't reporting services do the same? What can I do to increase performance?

Sharepoint 2010 and SSRS 2008 R2 deployment issue and Globals!ReportName issue

1. Does Sharepoint 2010 in integrated mode Support =Globals!ReportName

Or is there any equivalent of the above expression to work in sharepoint

2. I tried to Deploy Reports from BIDS 2008 to Sharepoint 2010. No matter what settings i choose for OverWriteDatsources, it always redeploys the Datasources.

Thanks,

Sandeep

SharePoint 2010 and SSRS 2008 R2 Problem

I'm having problems configuring SSRS in integrated mode, whenever I try to do anything with SSRS (including create a data source in a report library) I get a 401 Error. I'll try to describe my setup the best I can.

My farm consists of 3 servers.

SPSQL1 - Contains all the databases needed for SharePoint
SPAPP1 - Central Admin and SSRS (DNS Alias REPORT1)
SPWFE1 - Web Front End

Outside of the environment I have

CUBE1 - SSAS
SQL1 - RDB

I have the following SPN's setup:

On spapp_user (Which also is the service account for SSRS)
HTTP/spwfe1
HTTP/spwfe1.local
HTTP/spapp1
HTTP/spassp1.local
HTTP/report1
HTTP/report1.local

On cube_user I have
MSOLAPSvc.v3/CUBE1
MSOLAPSvc.v3/CUBE1.LOCAL

On sql_usre I have
MSSQLSvc/SQL1
MSSQLSvc/SQ1.LOCAL

On spwfe1, spapp1, and spapp_user I have setup constrained delegations to
MSSQLSvc/SQL1
MSSQLSvc/SQ1.LOCAL
MSSQLSvc/SQL1
MSSQLSvc/SQ1.LOCAL
HTTP/REPORT1
HTTP/REPORT1.LOCAL

I also have setup the reporting services config file to negotiate instead of use NTLM. And the Applicaon is using classic authentication since we're trying to use Windows Authentication in the reports we want to create when we can actually create them.

So far I have had no luck, however I am able to succe

SSRS 2008 R2 running in SharePoint 2010 Integration mode - Not able to schedule reports.

Hi,

I am unable to schedule report am getting following error when trying to schedule an SSRS report from ReportViewer Webpart in SharePoint 2010.

  • The current action cannot be completed. The user data source credentials do not meet the requirements to run this report. Either the user data source credentials are not stored in the report server database, or the user data source is configured not to require credentials but the unattended execution account is not specified. (rsInvalidDataSourceCredentialSetting)

I have SSRS 2008 R2 running in SharePoint 2010 Integration mode on Win 2008 R2 System.

I have also setup the unattended execution account from the Reporting Services Configuration Manager, which has appropriate privilates on the database to generate report.

Also, I have reporting webservice setup @ following url (am using the named instance of SQL Server):

http://<Servername>/ReportServer_SQLSERVER97170

Am able to view the report from report viewer webpart but unable to schedule it.

Kindly let me know what's going wrong.

Thanks in Advance,

Sachin R. Chavan.

SSRS 2008 R2 and sharepoint 2007 report builder problems

I upgraded our enterprise sql server 2008 to sql server 2008 r2 last weekend.  Along with this i installed the report builder 3.0 on the servers as well and the updated ssrs add in for sharepoint.  The upgrade went fine, no errors that i could find.  The problem is now when i go to a library that has the report builder content type enabled and click report builder report under new it does not load report builder 3.0.

I updated the custom report builder url in central administration from /_vti_bin/ReportBuilder/ReportBuilder_2_0_0_0.application to /_vti_bin/ReportBuilder/ReportBuilder_3_0_0_0.application

however when i do click the new report builder report it kicks me over to http://company.com/ReportServer_MossEnt  which itemizes out each individual sharepoint site in the farm.

Is the integration of ssrs 2008 r2, sharepoint 2007 and report builder 3.0 work?  did i install the wrong version of the report builder add in?  The above is the only problem i am having now.

all servers are server 2008, 64 bit and moss 2007 enterprise with sp2 & april 2010 cu

Cannot add SQL Server 2008 R2 Report items to SharePoint Server 2010 document library

Using account which is the primary parent site administrator, can upload RDS and RDL files to the document library (however, cannot open report). User is also a domain admin with SA on the database instances. Cannot add Report Data Source with "New Document" icon. The permissions granted to user '[domain]\[user]' are insufficient for performing this operation. Under "Site Settings", "Managed Shared Schedules" fails with same error. Attempting to deploy from BIDS results in the same permissions error. Sharepoint Server 2010, Report Server 2008 R2. RS and SP databases hosted on remote server (SQL Server 2008 R2). All connections (SharePoint services, RS services, users) except SQLAgent authenticating to remote SQL Server with Kerberos (all SPNs look correct). Single site, site collection "/". Document directory called "Reports". Windows Integrated Security (Negotiate). How would I troubleshoot/solve problem?

SSRS 2008 R2 - Sharepoint list item hyperlink bug?

I have created a report based on a sharepoint list and I am using a subscription in WSS 3.0 to email the report to the users once a week. I want one column in the report to act as a hyperlink to the sharepoint list item but in the email version of the report, the URL has the list item ID repeated twice, which renders the link invalid. Initially, I tried using the 'Encoded Absolute URL' from the sharepoint list query to populate the hyperlink but this just gives a 404 NOT FOUND error and I have found documented in several places on the web that this link only works with document libraries. So instead, I decided to create the URL for the action using an expression, like this: ="http://myserver/mysite/Lists/mylist/DispForm.aspx?ID=" & ListItemID.Value This works perfectly in the development environment and when people run the report for themselves in the sharepoint document library where it is deployed but, for some reason, if I send the report on a schedule then I get the ID parameter repeated at the end twice. Like this: http://myserver/mysite/Lists/mylist/DispForm.aspx?ID=999&ID=999 I have tried rendering the report in several different formats (Word, PDF, MHTML, HTML) and they all seem to work fine in the development and when run within SharePoint but not when they are rendered and emailed using the scheduler. Is this a bug or am I missing so

Upgrading to SharePoint 2010 Foundation on SBS Server 2008

Hi all, I've just tried to install SharePoint Foundation on 2010 on Windows Small Business Server 2008 and whilst the literature I've found suggests that this is supported, I receive the following error: SharePoint 2010 Products cannot be installed in Stand-alone mode on a Domain Controller.  For more information on upgrading, see http://support.microsoft.com/?kbid=975805. What's funny about the KB ID, is that it doesn't exist.  The pre-requisites for SharePoint 2010 Foundation installed OK and the SharePoint installer has detected that it will perform an in-place upgrade.  the STSADM -o preupgradecheck output is below. Any idea's?  It would be really great if we could start using the shared workspace and ribbon features that are inherent with SPF2010. Jason.

HTTP 500 After Sharepoint 2010 Install on Win 2008 R2

Environment specifics: Windows 2008 R2 SQL 2008 (Version: 10.0.2746.0) No internet connection so I installed all the prerequisite software. I have two domain accounts: SPAdmin and SPFarm SPAdmin is what I use to install Sharepoint. SPFarm runs the app pool, timer service etc. Domain: Development domain. Scenario: After the SP Setup Wizard, Central admin is inaccessible and gives a HTTP 500 error. I checked the recommended permissions for both accounts and they both appear to be in the correct groups. The only way I can get it to work is to add the SPFarm account as a local admin. So it appears to be a permissions issue. But I can't figure out what the issue is or even where to start. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Can WEBDAV be disabled in Sharepoint 2010 on a Windows Server 2008 R2?

Hello, we had some issues with WEBDAV use with Sharepoint 2010 placed behind WEBSeal proxies. We decided to only use FPSE (front page server extensions) for an external access to this portal. I cannot find a way, how to disable WEBDAV, or how to force clients to only use FPSE with this portal. It is fair, to say, that we would like to make such configuration on a server side, rather then configure client computers. We are running Sharepoint 2010 on a Windows Server 2008R2 server (i.e. IIS 7.5) thank you in advance for help/ideas Roman Cernovsky

Migrate from SPS 3.0 to SharePoint Foundation 2010 on SBS 2008

Good news is a white paper and technet article came out on how to do this.  Bad news is that it had a significant error, and when I downloaded to follow, it was the day before the correction. I have finished the migration almost, but there are some issues that manifest itself on IIS and in trying to attach the saved configuration database. When I launch SPF Management Console, I get a warning message that"the security token service is not available." I also get two application event log postings, the first an error and the second right after a warning as follows: Event ID 8306 Category Claims Authentication.   Description: An exception occurred when trying to issue security token: Could not connect to http://localhost:32843/SecurityTokenServiceApplication/securitytoken.svc . Windows Sharepoint Foundation 2010 - Document Library Settings with Reporting Services 2008 R2 in in

I have a client who has recently upgraded their SharePoint system to Windows Sharepoint Foundation 2010 with Reporting Services 2008 R2 in integrated mode. I have configured reporting services and am able to deploy reports to SharePoint. The client created a document library before the upgrade to WSF 2010. I need to add Report Builder 3.0 to the New Document menu and found the following article. http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/bb326289.aspx "Allow management of content types?" is set to yes under the advanced document library settings. The problem is that when I try to "add from existing site content types" the reporting services content types are not in the list. I appreciate any help you can give me.
