I have an Intranet site that contains several departmental intranet sites.
Is it possible to have a web part on the homepage of the top level intranet that displays all recently added content to the various sub sites ?
I would like to present users with unique content based on certain conditions being met as they land on the home page (default.aspx). The condition logic will be in the VB code behind Page Load event. The content will go in a content placeholder as specificed from the master page.
However, the content change wouldn't be something small (ie making a panel or label visible or not) but rather it will be different HTML, Divs and databound gridview content. The HTML content will be stored in the database.
Can someone point me in the right direction for best practices on how to accomplish this?
I usually work with windows forms, and am just starting to work with ASP.Net, so appologies if this is a dumb question!
I have a master page which has a search button on it. The results of this are built up using a Linq statement and if there are any results, I want to display the results in a contents page.
On the masterpage, I have the following code:
Public Overridable ReadOnly Property SearchRes()
Private Sub DoSearch()
'some code to get a linq result
If res.Any Then
_res = res
LabelNoRes.Visible = True
On the SearchResults.aspx page I have this code.
Dim m As pxSite = CType(Page.Master, MasterPage)
If m.SearchRes IsNot Nothing Then
Label1.Text = "Results found = " & m.SearchRes.Count
m.searchRes is always nothing.
What am I doing wrong here?
Here is the content page:
iam using master page and i am using update panel in content pages (child pages)

I have a user request to access the user's Outlook In-Box from the home page in SP 2010. The OWS In Box web part requires a hard-coded email address. Is there any way to have the web part accept a variable? That way I
could pass the email address from AD.
One of the user got My owa link in place of my site on the my home page ( go to my site --> my home --> top right corner shows My owa insead of my site ) and he wants to edit that my owa link now. first of all i dont know how he got that
My owa link in the place of my site on my home page. When he surfs any other page than he is getting my site on all other pages. so he is just getting My owa link in place of my site only on the my home page.
At the first glanse, i think it would be master page issue but if that would be the case than it shold apply all the users but this is happening just for one user and we are not using custom master page.

I'm using Request.PathInfo to response.redirect as user to a different page ( based on the content after .aspx ). It redirect just fine however, once redirected, the page loses all content from the master page and the CSS link. I've searched and can't find an answer.
Does anyone have a solution for this?
