WCF The request failed with HTTP status 404: Not Found

I get the error above with a WCF service I've deployed to a Windows Server 2008 box (with IIS 7). When using a test client with a proxy WSDL class to try to consume the service this error pops up while debugging. Using http is fine, however using https causes the error. We do have an SSL on the URL for the WCF service.

Is there a setting I'm missing?

Webs Webservices problem : The request failed with HTTP status 401: Unauthorized

I am trying to run this code to get the web collection details. I am running this code in debug mode in Visual Studio 2005. I am running this code on sharepoint.acme.com, the same machine on which MOSS 2007 is installed.

        Webs websService = new Webs();
        System.Net.SystemNetworkCredential credentials =
        websService.Credentials = System.Net.CredentialCache.DefaultCredentials;
        websService.Url = "http://sharepoint.acme.com/_vti_bin/Webs.asmx";

        System.Xml.XmlNode myNode = websService.GetAllSubWebCollection();

I get this error. "The request failed with HTTP status 401: Unauthorized" in the last line while debug mode running. Earlier it used to work fine, but today I see this problem. Both acme\administrator and sharepoint\administrator can log into SharePoint. I tried running this code by logging in to my win2k3 desktop as acme\administrator once and launching Visual Studio 2005 and sharepoint\administrator another time. Both time it I got the same error.

Could someone please help me in resolving this error?

Anonymous Web Site receives "The request failed with HTTP status 401: Unauthorized"

I set up a test website on my local box and was able to access sharepoint search using the querySearch web service from SP.  After I got it all working properly I transferred the code to the target website that is set up with anonymous access for all people on the fab floor.  However from this website I keep getting the 401 error.  It can't be SP because the same code worked from my local website "localhost".  Any suggestions?  we don't want to have to have the fab people log in so we can't not have the box anonymous.  I would appreciate any suggestions very much!!!

SQL Server Reporting Service 2008 R2 - The request failed with HTTP status 401: Unauthorized.

I got the error "The request failed with HTTP status 401: Unauthorized." when I call the Reporting Service Web Service.

The code is very simple:

// Initialise the reporting service Web Service

this.RSWebService = new ReportingService2010();

// Pass windos authentication credentials to Web Service

this.RSWebService.Credentials = System.Net.CredentialCache.DefaultCredentials;

// List children

List<CatalogItem> reports = this.RSWebService.ListChildren(folder, false).ToList();

The SQL Server is installed on a different machine (say server A) from the Web server (say server B). We are using Windows Server 2003.

The code work fine for all the scenario below:

i) Run locally (XP) to call the web service on the sql server

ii) Provide the Network Credentials with the username, password, and domain when calling the web service

iii) If the web server and sql server is using same server (i.e. not distributed)

I'm using windows authentication and impersonation. Any idea?

The request failed with HTTP status 407: Proxy Authentication Required (the ISA server requires auth

I'm new to webservice. I writed an example to work with a web service which is supplied on Internet (its url: http://ws.cdyne.com/delayedstockquote/delayedstockquote.asmx ) when i tried running i got an error message as System.Net.WebException was unhandled
  Message="The request failed with HTTP status 407: Proxy Authentication Required ( The ISA Server requires authorization to fulfill the request. Access to the Web Proxy service is denied.  )."

I had found some solutions such as:
+ using ISA firewall
+ configuring proxy from Machine.config
+ inside coding

The first:  I used ISA firewall but i still got the same error, my problem didn't resolve. I guessed that is because ISA firewall needn't use Credentials (username/password).

The second:
 I tried coding in my source, it was okie. This solution is good because following this way i can get defaultCredentials from cache but needn't define straightforwardly my credentials as username/password
my code is as follows:

DelayedStockQuote wsStock =

I have SQL'08r2x64 freshly installed on a WS'03r2x64sp2 box and WS is also a DC (sorry).  Previously, there was a SQL'05sp3 installation on this box and it worked splendito.  I used the SQL'05 for some minor devel and to host a Backup Exec 11D db/installation; it all was splendito.   Then, i removed SQL'05&BE11D to prepare for an upgrade of this arrangement.  Next, i installed said SQL'08 to be the foundation for a planned Backup Exec 12.5 install.  To date, I can't get to a clean install of SQL'08 and thus have not progressed to installing BE12.5.  I now have this painfully annoying situation (as i've been beating on it for 2 days) where a series of errors occur during boot: 1st: srmSvc; Event ID 12317; File Server Resource Manager failed to enumerate share paths or DFS paths.  Mappings from local file paths to share and DFS paths may be incomplete or temporarily unavailable.  FSRM will retry the operation at a later time. 2nd & 3rd (occurs twice): MsSQL$buExpressSQL; Event ID 18456; Login failed for user 'BOWMAN\ExecSQL'. Reason: Failed to open the explicitly specified database. [CLIENT: <local machine>] 4th: Report Server Windows; Event ID 107; Report Server Windows Service (SQLEXPRESS) cannot connect to the report server database. I couldn't find anything to sink my teeth into for the 12317 error; i

The remote server returned an error: (550) File unavailable (e.g., file not found, no access).

Hi.   I have read the other threads regarding this but they do not solve my problem. All i am trying to do is upload a file from the webserver onto another server via FTP. But i get the above error and am at my wits end as to why.   below is the code:   Dim fs As New FileStream("H:\Visual Studio 2005\Websites\Website1\testfile.txt", FileMode.Open) Dim filecontents(fs.Length) As Byte fs.Read(filecontents, 0, fs.Length)   Dim remotePath As String = "ftp://elonwactd.uk.ml.com/apps/files/IPBHVGTRADE/QA5/in/testfile.txt" Dim ftp As FtpWebRequest = FtpWebRequest.Create(remotePath) ftp.Credentials = New System.Net.NetworkCredential("user1", "passwd1") ftp.KeepAlive = False ftp.UseBinary = True   ' (have tried UploadFile as well instead of UploadFileWithUniqueName) ftp.Method = WebRequestMethods.Ftp.UploadFileWithUniqueName     fs.Close()   ftp.GetRequestStream.Write(filecontents, 0, filecontents.Length) ftp.GetRequestStream.Close() ftp.GetResponse.Close()     Below is the stack trace that i get. "Access Denied" and RunwithElevatedPrivilages issue (Yes, I've found the other posts in the Forum)

I just *KNEW* I had found a fix for my issue in the forums at http://social.msdn.microsoft.com/Forums/en-US/sharepointdevelopment/thread/c3d2b304-7fcc-40d2-86ce-61d9b21b03d7/ However, I've tried every suggestion made in this thread and *still* get issues in that the 'normal' end user cannot see the form. I have any overly simple form in the layouts folder with a lable and a table. I can write the Site Title to the label, and need to add rows to the table, one for each Site Owner (Full Control user) found for the site. This form will be available to anyone with access to the site. However all I get is: Access is denied. (Exception from HRESULT: 0x80070005 (E_ACCESSDENIED)) I have confirmed the application pool identity is the correct service account for the farm.  Here is the code I'm using; can anyone advise where I'm stepping on my own toes? protected override void OnInit(EventArgs e) { try { SPSecurity.RunWithElevatedPrivileges( delegate() { using (SPSite site = SPContext.Current.Site) { site.AllowUnsafeUpdates = true; SPWeb web = SPContext.Current.Web; web.Site.CatchAccessDeniedException = false; thisSiteTitle.Text = web.Title.ToString(); //FindSO(web); //BEGINNING OF COPIED FINDSO CODE writeToEventLog(app, "2", "2"); ArrayList allOwner
