HTMLeditor, always paste with word clean up on?

Posted By:      Posted Date: October 11, 2010    Points: 0   Category :ASP.Net

I haven't been able to find a post about this, but the HTMLEditor is finally a rich text editor that properly removes word formatting without messaging up other stuff (thank god!). However, because I know my users, I would like for this 'paste as word' mode to be always on whenever they paste, how can I accomplish this?

Clean Web.Config Files (VS 2010 and .NET 4.0 Series)

.NET 4 includes a new version of the CLR, and a new .NET 4 specific machine.config file (which is installed side-by-side with the one used by .NET 2, .NET 3 and .NET 3.5).

The new .NET 4 machine.config file now automatically registers all of the ASP.NET tag sections, handlers and modules that we've added over the years, including the functionality for:

.ASP.NET AJAX
.ASP.NET Dynamic Data
.ASP.NET Routing (which can now be used for both ASP.NET WebForms and ASP.NET MVC)
.ASP.NET Chart Control (which now ships built-into ASP.NET V4)
What this means is that when you create a new "Empty ASP.NET application" project in VS 2010, you'll find that the new default application-level web.config file is now clean and simple:

MS Word style comments in asp.net

Hello.

I need to create a system, that will be similar to ms word style comments. So the idea is the following: on the page there are a pack of text boxes labels and so on, and user need have the way to comment each control, and save commented text, for example to DB, so the others can reed comments too.

I tried PopUpControlExtender, but it works in single way, and i cannot view all the popups in one time. Or may be i missed something and there is a way to popup all the controls at one time?

Therefore, are there any known solutions for a discribed task, based on PopUpControlExtender or something else?

Sorting ORDER BY - WORD

Is it possible with SQL sorted in descending order according to the word?
In Table I shrajeno Mastercard, Visa, Diners etc ...

All Visa are the first in the order, another Mastercard, etc. ...

Something does not work: ORDER BY PaymentType = 'Visa';

I would not want to work in one field PaymentId (111,222,33, etc. ..) and then use the ORDER BY.

Is this possible in such a way?

Word Automation Issue in Windows Server 2008 Hosting

Hi,

The problem I am posting here is that I was facing nearly 2 weeks around. Any body comes with this stuff please help.

Word Automation in sample ASP.NET(C#) application.

I am using Microsoft.Office.Inetrop.Word Assembly for automation. Here I am reading a XXX.dot template file and fill the contents with dynamic data.

When i am executing my code in localhost:someportnumber the automation is working fine and I could get expected result and when I am hosting in my inetmgr(Windows XP is my OS) it is also working fine.

But the problem is that when I am hosting in my production server(Windows Server 2008 Standard Edition) I am not able to perform automation and results in the following error.

Data: System.Collections.ListDictionaryInternal
Message: Word has encountered a problem.
Source: Microsoft Word

The code gets failed in the following line:

ApplicationClass wordApp = new Microsoft.Office.Interop.Word.ApplicationClass();

Document wordDoc = wordApp.Documents.Add(ref oTemplate, ref oFalse, ref oMissing, ref oMissing); // Error in this line

I cannot able to proceed further. Can anybody please help me in solving this issue?

Thank you.

With Regards,

Ashok

Word Automation - Multiple DCOM Errors/Behavior

Before I get started, I already know that Microsoft does not support and highly discourages server-based MS Office automation.  I've read a multitude of posts and smarmy "*wink*, here's a link" replies, so I'm looking for actual help here, not condescending reprimands.

That notwithstanding, here is my problem.  I have developed a simple method that will open a local Word document, modify some header information, and then save the document as a new file.  As expected, it works great as a console/windows app, but as soon as I went to ASP.NET, DCOM jacked my world up when accessing the app remotely from a different domain account (that has access to the ASP.NET app.  For reference, my method is shown below:

1 public static string ModifyAndSaveBuildDocument(string localFilePath, BuildDocumentType docType, string buildNumber, DateTime buildDate, string projectName)
2            {
3                try
4                {
5                    ProjectConfiguration config = (ProjectConfiguration)ConfigurationManager.GetSection("ProjectConfiguration");

Charset Problem with dynamically generated Word Document

in my asp.net web application i am dynamically generating a word documnet out of a sql data. I have set the char set UTF-8 during the doument creation in code but still when i open the generated document and check it char set .. it is always windows-1252 not the one that i have set. My sql data in the document have special characters whihc can only be understandable using the UTF-8 charset otherwise its always ?T written in place of an apostrophy . Pasting my code here..

         HttpContext.Current.Response.Clear();
         HttpContext.Current.Response.ContentType = "application/msword";
         HttpContext.Current.Response.ContentEncoding = System.Text.UnicodeEncoding.UTF8;
         HttpContext.Current.Response.Charset = "utf-8";
         string strFileName = "Details" + ".doc";
        HttpContext.Current.Response.AddHeader("Content-Disposition", "inline;filename=" + strFileName);
        StringBuilder strHTMLContent = new StringBuilder();
        string strMessage = " ";
        DataView abstractview = (DataView)dsAbstract.Select(DataSourceSelectArguments.Empty);
        foreach (DataRowView row1 in abstractview)
        {
            strMessage += "<table border='1' cellspacing='0' cellpadding='5' width
