I've a problem with my Visual Studio.
On the 13th of August 2010 i installed a Windows update on my vista sp2 pc. For this date my Visual Studio 2008 sp 1 always has closed itself by opening an aspx-page in designer view. There is no error message just closing the window. I restored a backup of my windows from the time before updating it and it helped, i could open aspx pages in the design view till the update has been installed again automatically after rebooting the pc. I can't disable windows updates, cause it's my pc at work and safety is very important. I hope you could help me out of this disaster.
hi i am having a gridview on each row i am having a update and add button.
on click of either of the button i am opening a popup where the end user will enter data and on clck of ok button in the child page
based on the click ie
if i clicked update i need to update that particular row with the values from child page.
if i clicked on add i need to add a row below the row where i clicked add button .
can anyone help me with this?
iam using master page and i am using update panel in content pages (child pages)
my questions is that can use updatepanel in every child page or master page only.
give ur suggestions, i have senario , in a page i have file upload concept ,updatepanel
is not support that fileupload.
the app I am working with is made up of three nested master pages that have the following design:
The first master page ha only realize the HEADER, BODY and FOOTER divs.
The second one specialize the Body content placeholder and divide it in three more layers: NAVIGATOR, PAGE TITLE, BODY CONTENT.
The final layer specialize the BODY CONTENT in PAGE CONTENT and ACTIONS.
In one of my content pages I have (inside the PAGE CONTENT area)
The PopupModalExtender can be either triggered from inside the gridView and also from a series of LinkButtons that are in the ACTIONS area.
The problem is that when the PopupModalExtender shows the FOOTER and the ACTIONS areas are not dimmed from the style I apply as background to the modal popup. An example of what I am trying to explain can be viewed in the following screenshot.
Why this is going to happen? Has anybody any suggestion on how to solve this problem?
Thanks a lot
I have many controls like dropdown, radiobuttonlist, etc on my page and I put all these controls inside the update panel so that the page doesn't look to be posting back when something is selected. Now the working on the page is very smooth. But the session object isn't getting refreshed even if I postback to the server and as a result even if the users are working on the page they are being sent to the login screen after 20 mins.
Is there anyway where I could put all the controls in update panel and still refresh the session after any postback(dropdown selection)
Any help is greatly appreciated.
Thanks in advance
I have a Formview that is only showing a question, and two checkboxes (True / False). It's cumbersome for the client to have to click "Update" every time they click a checkbox.
Is there a way to have Formview update the data when the page is changed, or form is closed? (I see those events, but know how to force data to update from in them).
The application is testing individuals, so 95% of the time the person navigating through the forms will be updating data.
We have custom control on Publishin page layout, that add/update values in a metadata of the page. Code is written in 'Button click' event that update/add new values to the metadata. Following is the code snippet, which is working fine in Stage and Acceptance
servers. Publishin page doesn't update Draft version with SPListItem.SystemUpdate instead it updates to last published major version.
currentPublishingPage = PublishingPage.GetPubl
I just started working with Dynamic Data (asp.net 4, VS 2010 express, C#) and have tried to simplify the displaying/not displaying of columns by using a simple, single table, updatable SQL view. Adding and displaying the view work and the in-line edit and update controls are there and seem functional but I can't access any of the columns.
Does DD not support updatable views or have I missed something?
When an asynchronous postback happened inside update panel, another postback happens also for MasterPage not only update panel embedded page .
I want to prevent this MasterPage postback .
is this possible ?
think like i have a MasterPage
and another page which is test.aspx which is content page of MasterPage
i have update panel at test.aspx
when asynchronous postback happens at this test.aspx update panel it also loads MasterPage Page_Load
i want to prevent this (it should not also load MasterPage Page_Load)
we are using a customized meeting workspace template for recurring meetings. These meetings series are not ending soon and we want to update the default.aspx page in every existing meeting workspace instance automatically with our latest changes.
Is this possible?
I have problem where i get authentication popup rises in the middle of the page process. Let me explain the scenario in detail.
I have an asp.net application developed and hosted in intranet which is used by finance team for some monthly calculation purpose.
Since it involves calculation of huge data i just did the calculation process alone with multithreading concept and implemented the same.
When we tried in our local and System testing environment we achieved the results in great success as the calculation took 6 minutes instead of normal 22 minutes and we happily proceded for production movement but we got stuck up in production environment with the following issue.
The moment we hit the calculation run button it started calculating and exactly after 5 mins we got a popup for authentication (it uses windows authentication) and if we give credentials it went to session timeout page.
We thought session timeout might be an issue and we increased all the timeouts as far as we know:
- Session timeout (gave 30 mins)
- HTTP runtime execution timeout (1000 secs)
- Connection timeout (sql) (300 secs)
- Command Timeout (300 secs)
The application is hosted with the following environment
- Windows server 2008
- MS SQ
