As an ASP.NET newbie I'm trying to get an initial project going without laying out huge sums for advanced visual components. Can anybody recommend any good open source control libraries for ASP.NET? Something that includes a table, tree, calendar, and the usual mix of input/display controls.
I am trying to use ReportViewer 9 in Visual Studio 8 but I get this error when I try to run the page:
The base class includes the field 'ReportViewer1', but its type (Microsoft.Reporting.WebForms.ReportViewer) is not compatible with the type of control (Microsoft.Reporting.WebForms.ReportViewer).
Please help if you can!
Hi guys really new to ASP.NET I was trying to install the CSS Friendly control adapter but for some reason the instructions on the website seems outdated. I downloaded all the files (Source Code, DLL, Browser) I believe I need to add the DLL file to my website's Bin folder and the Browser file to the APP_Browsers folder is this correct? After I place this files how to I get it working? what do I have to do? Also if I want to create a new DLL file from the Source code how do I do these? I opened the web-site with Visual Studio 2008 and I can see all the files in the solution explorer? But how do I compile this to a DLL file? I tried doing a build solution but all I get is an .sln file???
Any help would be greatly appreciated
Thanks in advance

LinkLabels are Windows Forms controls that enable a user to hyperlink to a URL that points to either the Web or the local directory system. While the SDK documentation discusses the control, it does not demonstrate how linking is accomplished, nor does it outline the power and flexibility the control provides. This article fills those gaps, showing how to link using the LinkLabel control. It also shows the flexibility of this control for the programmer using the .NET Framework. In addition, the author covers the large number of properties that allow you to customize your controls and accurately place them. Their built-in behaviors are also discussed, along with their use in both Visual Basic .NET and C#.
