I just recently moved from Win XP Pro SP3 to Win 7 32-bit Pro. I am logging into domain X normally. Our Sharepoint 2007 server authenticates only on domain Y. So I start Internet Explorer with "run as different user" and provide my domain Y credentials.
In win XP, after I did this, when I click on an Excel file on Sharepoint, I would get a dialog asking if I wanted to check out and edit or open as read only.
In win7, I don't get that choice. The file simply opens, and I get a bar at the top which allows me to check out the file if I wanted to.
How can I restore the functionality I used to have, with the dialog for checking out the file before opening it?
I had created one application and this is multi client application means code is same but setup is different for each client with diff. client Code in app config file, diff product code, upgrade code, setup name, display name.
So i am looking for a way to edit my MSI file dynamically and made changes into that for each client using code or any other way dynamically.
Do any one has idea how to do this Dynamically/Anyother.
Thanks in advance.

I am not able to edit Document Properties defined in SharePoint 2010 Document Libraries from SPW 2010.
I create a SharePoint 2010 Workspace from an empty SharePoint 2010 Document Library;
I add 10 PDF documents to SPW document library
Note that I'm able to add/remove documents, so I'm not sure it's a permissions problem.
What I'm I missing?
Thank you in advance,
XLS files that I have created in office 2007 and saved down to 2003 format cannot be opened in edit mode by some users who have office 2003. Trying to open from Sharepoint site with server version 2007. Versioning is on. Check out is required.
They have the appropriate permissions as contributer. Any ideas? I had them run this thinking it would help, but no dice.
"Go To Start > Run > Type webfldrs.msi
Click on Select Reinstall Mode button (not Reinstall button)
Select all options
Click on OK
Now click on the Reinstall button
Why do you need delete permissions to edit the file name of a document in a document library? How can I have a document library and a group of users who should be able to upload documents and only change the metadata. They should not be able to edit the document or delete the document. So I setup a permission level with Add and Edit Items. When the user uploads the document, the edit form is shown where he/she changes the file name and comment fields, but the users get "Access Denied " error. I noticed that the error must be because the user is changing the file name field, as the document is uploaded and the comments field is also updated but the file name is not changed. But if I give Delete permissions to these users, the error disappears. I do not want to give them Delete permissions but I want to allow them to change the file name, can anyone help me here about how to achieve this? Also How do I prevent them from editing the document but still they can edit the metadata?Any help would be greatly appreciated..Thanks.
