Not working on Windows Server 2008

I had the CSS friendly adapters working great on our old server (windows server 2003 - 32bit) and now we have moved to a 64 bit environment and now I can not get the CSS friendly adapters to work.

We are using SharePoint 2007.

Is there another work thru for 64bit environment.

I notice windows server 2008 has a directory  C:\Windows\Microsoft.NET\Framework64 would I be using the browser file in this directory???

Please help!

Office Sharepoint Server Search not working but Windows Server Search is.

I am having an annoying Issue with the Sharepoint 2007 Enterprise search functionality. I cannot get the Search Centre to work, the out of the box webparts crash the page except the Searchbox when the others are closed. The event viewer shows up numerous Errors (Office Sharepoint Server - EventID 7080) returns with and the same when trying to add a search related web part (e.g. core.results, federated etc). EventID 6398 - Timer is a regular as is 7080. Details below.

A network-related or instance-specific error occurred while establishing a connection to SQL Server. The server was not found or was not accessible. Verify that the instance name is correct and that SQL Server is configured to allow remote connections. (provider: SQL Network Interfaces, error: 26 - Error Locating Server/Instance Specified).

Remote connections are connected, I am not 100% on the Instance name, (how would I go about checking this?)

Also I cannot access the link to SharedServices1 - Open Shared Services Admin site (not clickable), guess it's permissions but I seem to have full site permissions, I think I need SSP-Admin to make more edits to the Search, maybe this is related :s

Both Search Servers are runnig, I have tried everything I can think of to fix this and allow the Search Centre to work.

I am running Sharepoint 2007 on SQL Server 2008.

Suite Integration Toolkit executable has stopped working On Windows 2008 R2

I am not sure what else I can say about this except I seem to run into this error each time I attempt to install any .NET Related tool above 1.1. I have tried clean out all .NET installs to reinstall but I run up against this and at this point, I have a machine that is clean of .NET 2.0 through 4.0. I am unable to reinstall because I keep running up against this problem. I am not certain where to go from here Problem signature:   Problem Event Name: APPCRASH   Application Name: setup.exe_Microsoft® Visual Studio® 2008   Application Version: 9.0.30729.1   Application Timestamp: 488f1f5c   Fault Module Name: urlmon.dll   Fault Module Version: 8.0.7600.16385   Fault Module Timestamp: 4a5bdf64   Exception Code: 80000003   Exception Offset: 0008b5df   OS Version: 6.1.7600.   Locale ID: 1033   Additional Information 1: 3da0   Additional Information 2: 3da0da3513034f247aa571ff6433c6a8   Additional Information 3: efee   Additional Information 4: efee7faa0523fea9d1582687f878296e Read our privacy statement online:   http://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/?linkid=104288&clcid=0x0409 If the online privacy statement is not available, please read our privacy statement offline:   C:\Windows\system32\en-US\erofflps.txtN

Windows Forms application Stopped Working message in Windows Vista

A Windows Forms application developed with VB2008 Express that has been successfully run on two Windows XP systems and a Windows 7 system fails to run on two of two Windows Vista systems tried so far.

Attempting to run the app on a Windows Vista system results in a system dialog box titled, Microsoft Windows, with the message, A problem caused the program to stop working correctly.  Windows will close the program and notify you if a solution is available.  A single button at the lower right of the dialog contains the text, Close Program.
The initial form of the application never displayed and the dialog above appeared with little delay after attempting to start the program.

The program uses an SQL Server Compact Edition 3.5 database and the program is compiled to include the following .DLL files so the user does not need to install SQL ServerCE.

The Load event of the initial form causes a DataSet to be filled from the SQL CE DB.

I have the System Informa

Renamed server and everything stopped working - tried various remedies and have now reinstalled from

Hi All,

For the first time, I have set up a sharepoint server. The name that I gave it was not appropriate, so I changed the server name.

From there it has gone downhill :(

I have got to the point now where I have uninstalled the server and reinstalled.

I seem to get through authentication on the server but now it has all ground to a halt.

There is no web.config file in the directory mentioned.

Any help or pointers would be much appreciated.

Also have I missed a simple rename routine somewhere?

Thanks in Advance

SQL Server Compact v3.5 SqlCeEngine.Upgrade method not working on PocketPC 2003/Windows Mobile 2003

When trying to use the SqlCeEngine.Upgrade(string connectionString) method i get the following exception:

The Parameter is incorrect.
at System.Data.SqlServerCe.SqlCeEngine.ProcessResults()
at System.Data.SqlServerCe.SqlCeEngine.Repair()
at System.Data.SqlServerCe.SqlCeEngine.Upgrade()
at Vbi.Compact.ErbisPda.Client.Program.Main()

The same code works like a charm on a Windows Mobile 2005 device. I installed "SQL Server Compact v3.5 Core" and "SQL Server Compact v3.5 Repl" on both devices, the WCE4/Armv4 version on Pocket PC 2003 and the WCE5/Armv4i version on Windows Mobile 2005.

I am hoping someone can help me with this problem, its being a showstopper.

[edit]Please note that i am using v3.5 and not v3.5 SP1. This is because for some of our data access we use a 3rd party library that needs v3.5 without SP1. Also i didn't run across above problem when i deployed my application from Visual Studio 2008 SP1 (debugging), it does occur on a clean system with only the two mentioned SQL Server Compact cabs installed and our app.[/edit]

Word Automation Issue in Windows Server 2008 Hosting

The problem I am posting here is that I was facing nearly 2 weeks around. Any body comes with this stuff please help.

Word Automation in sample ASP.NET(C#) application.

I am using Microsoft.Office.Inetrop.Word Assembly for automation. Here I am reading a XXX.dot template file and fill the contents with dynamic data.

When i am executing my code in localhost:someportnumber the automation is working fine and I could get expected result and when I am hosting in my inetmgr(Windows XP is my OS) it is also working fine.

But the problem is that when I am hosting in my production server(Windows Server 2008 Standard Edition) I am not able to perform automation and results in the following error.

Data: System.Collections.ListDictionaryInternal
Message: Word has encountered a problem.
Source: Microsoft Word

The code gets failed in the following line:

ApplicationClass wordApp = new Microsoft.Office.Interop.Word.ApplicationClass();

Document wordDoc = wordApp.Documents.Add(ref oTemplate, ref oFalse, ref oMissing, ref oMissing); // Error in this line

I cannot able to proceed further. Can anybody please help me in solving this issue?

Thank you.

With Regards,

No ASPNET User in Windows Server 2008?

I have been looking everywhere online regarding this, but have not found a clear answer.

I have an ASP.Net app running on Windows Server 2008, it's basically a reporting app using Crystal Reports. I have encountered a roadblock in regards to rendering some pages. When I run the app in Visual Studio(on the same 2008 machine) everything works perfectly. Yet when I publish it and run it live the reports will not display correctly, I get a message saying Failed to render page.

I looked this error up in the Crystal Reports website and the fixes they have there refer to giving the windows "aspnet" user full access rights to certain folders on the machine. I would be happy to do this, however there is no aspnet user in Windows Server 2008.

I installed the server and set its role to be Web Server. I also checked all the options regarding ASP.Net and IIS 6 compatibility. Yet there is no ASPNET username anywhere.

Did I set the server up wrong? or do I have to do something within ASP.Net to  create this user and then give it rights?
