JSON Deserialize into Entity Framework Object and setting the DataMemberAttribute "Name="

Hi,

I'm in the process of deserializing a JSON object into an Entity Framework object.  The property names in the JSON do not match up totally with the property names in the Entity Framework Objects. What I'd like to do is set "Name=" on the  "DataContractAttribute" for the table and the "DataMemberAttribute" for the properties in the Designer.cs file.  I tried setting these in the Designer.cs file manually just to see if it would work - which it did (using JSON.Net) but of course when I went into the .edmx designer I lost all my changes.  Is there a way to do this?

Thanks in advance

Can serialize but not deserialize class containing an xs:list attribute using XmlSerializer

I have a simple serializable class along the lines of: [Serializable] [XmlType] public class MyClass { [XmlAttribute("values")] public int[] Values { get; set; } } If I create an instance of this class with Values set to an empty collection the XmlSerializer class produces this output as expected: <?xml version="1.0" encoding="utf-16" ?> <MyClass xmlns:xsi="http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema-instance" xmlns:xsd="http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema" values="" /> However, deserializing this exact output throws a System.FormatException: Input string was not in a correct format. Shouldn't the XmlSerializer be able to deserialize this, since it produced the xml string in the first place?

.net 2010 REST WCF - json does not return the root List type

Hi,

I am using the .net 2010 WCF Rest Service Application template to create my services.

The service needs to support two return format - xml and json which 2010 easily handles by changing the Accept value in the header info.

I have the following class structure

   public class ri
    {
        public string nm { get; set; }

        public string nval { get; set; }

        public string cnt { get; set; }
    }

    public class r
    {
        public string val { get; set; }

        public string nm { get; set; }

        public List<ri> ri { get; set; }
    }

   public class refinements
    {
        public List<r> refs { get; set; }
    }

   public class GetRefinementsSvc
    {
        [WebGet(UriTemplate = "")]
        public refinements GetCollection

Dropdown list in ASP.NET - How to get value selected

am sure this must be very simple, but unforunately I can't figure it out.
I have the following code which populates the dropdown lists from the database. This works fine. Now, when the user selects a particular employee name from the list, I want to get the Employee Id of the selected employee. i.e. I need to get the "Eid" value. I can do this if the EId is loaded in the dropdown list, but in this case only the employee name is displayed. Please let me know howI can get the Eid value even though it is not loaded in the dropdown list.
I would really appreciate your help

Creating Sites/Lists/List Items under Current User Context in SharePoint By Using SPUserToken

Usually we do this by performing the action under RunWithElevatedPrivileges method and updating the listitem using SPListItem.SystemUpdate() method (see here). but this approach has its own flaws like (RunWithElevatedPrivileges will run under system account, we cannot use SystemUpdate for SPSite,SPWeb,SPList, since it runs under system we will "CreatedBy" by as SystemAccount).

Editable Gridview with Textbox, CheckBox, Radio Button and DropDown List

This is an example of an editable gridview containing different ASP.NET controls. When user wants to edit values in gridview, she/he can use these controls to edit existing values in Gridview Edit Mode.
