I am trying to setup SSO on my Sharepoint 2007 server, part of a Win2003 domain. In setting up I keep getting the error that the username I am entering does not have the correct rights.

According to a reference the SSO username needs the following:

  • Must be a domain user account. It cannot be a group account.

  • Must be an Office SharePoint Server farm account.

  • Must be a member of the local Administrators group on the encryption-key server. (The encryption-key server is the first server on which you start SSOSrv.)

  • Must be a member of the Security Administrators role and db_creator role on the computer running Microsoft SQL Server.

  • Must be either the same as the single sign-on administrator account, or a member of the group account that is the single sign-on administrator account.

I don't understand what a "Sharpoint Server Farm account is." I can't find where the "Security Administrators" and "DB creater" groups are at, I don't understand the last bullet which appears to me to be incomprehensible MS Speak.

    Where is this stuff at??
