Restoring 2008 Database with Filestream - Process cannot access file error

I'm trying to restore a copy of a database that has a filestream and am getting the error below. I've tried with move option to specify a new path and left it with default path, neither worked. Did a trace with procmon, didn't see anything. FileStream1 is a new folder that the restore process creates. I've deleted the folder, tried it with a new name, re-took the backup from the source machine, restarted SQL, rebooted the machine, drive permissions are open. I've run out of ideas on how to debug further. Looking up the error online wasn't much help either. Msg 3634, Level 16, State 1, Line 1 The operating system returned the error '32(The process cannot access the file because it is being used by another process.)' while attempting 'OpenFile' on 'X:\Data\FileStream1\4ecb2e48-0eee-4c99-a3f0-f1e6c7f00b24\f2efe374-9481-4c1b-a7f2-dcdcee350807\0000001b-0000aaa6-00f6'. Problem trying to attach database file to Microsoft SQL Server Management Studio

I was trying to attach a database to SQL Server MGT Studio and got an exception error.  The message stated that the database file I was trying to attach could not be opened because it was version 661.  The SQL Server shows to support version 655 and earlier.  It states that a downgrade path is not supported. Question:  Is there some download ; fix; I can make to SQL Server 2008 that will allow me to attach the version 661????  I am not technical at all.  Please speak slowly.  :)  Thanks

Access web database Reports - "file not found" error

The reports section of my Access web databases aren't working - I keep getting a "file not found" error for every database I upload.  I even tested it with the Northwind Web Database sample from MS.  I could see the reports in Access 2010, so I successfully uploaded the template to my SharePoint 2010 Server, and when I clicked on the links to view the Reports - I got the same "file not found" error for this sample database.

Anyone seen this before?

Thanks.

Steve

Can't attach my project database (.mdf file) using SQL Server Management Studio R2

Hi.  I've encountered a strange issue in SQL Server Management Studio (not the express version).  I had to uninstall SQL Server 2008 Developer in order to install SQL Server 2008 R2 Developer.  As a result of doing this, the database from one of my ASP.NET MVC projects is not attached to the database server.  I see the ".mdf" file in my project's AppData folder in Windows Explorer, but I can't navigate to it in SQL Server Management Studio.  I go to "C:\Users\<my name>" and the attach database interface will not let me go any further.  The folder that I need to access is "C:\Users\<my name>\Documents\Visual Studio 2010\NerdDinner\NerdDinner\App_Data".  How can I access this directory from SQL Server Management Studio?  Is there some sort of strange permission issue?  Thanks in advance for any help.

Exception Error 5123 - Unable to attach database

Hello.

Our GIS group is working with SQL Server 2005 in conjunction with ESRI's ArcGIS software. SQL Server is being used as a test bed until we formally migrate our existing Microsoft Access mdb's over. So, at this time we are conducting various tests and have the freedom to "blow up" our databases.

We are currently testing ArcSDE Workgroup edition, which will only work with SQL Server Express (SSE). SSE will let us create spatial joins and relationships, while maintaining data integrity. So one possible workaround was to detach the database from SQL Server 2005 and then attach it to SSE. Unfortunately, we ran into a problem in re-attaching the database back to SQL Server 2005.

The exact steps are as follows:

  1. Back up database using back up tool in SQL Server 2005.
  2. Detached database from SQL Server 2005.
  3. Attached database to SQL Server Express (hereafter SSE).
  4. Created a table in database while it was attached to SSE.
  5. Detached database from SSE.
  6. Attempt to attach database to SQL Server 2005 failed
  7. Succe
