Light box and server events

Posted By:      Posted Date: October 11, 2010    Points: 0   Category :ASP.Net

Hello frnds

i am using light box in one of my asp.net website

On a linkbutton click, an application form opens in a lightbox. this form contains a dropdownlist.

till now it was working fine. but now i have to change some coding.

Whenever a value is selected from that dropdownlist, its selectedindexchanged is fired. At this moment my form with light box gets disapper.

what i want is, it should remain on screen as it is when any of the server side event is fired.

is it possible ?

Regards

Vipul

"Server Objects and Events" missing

Using in-line code in VS 2010 RC and I can't get the "server objects and Events" drop down to show up.Not sure if this is a bug or what...in VS 2005 / 2008 it would just appear at the top of in-line code files.  I've checked the options/settings menus and haven't found any way to enable it.

Automatically inserting server-side page events into C# when using code separation

I know this is a really basic question and I have spent the last half hour trying to find an answer so please forgive me if this has been asked before (it probably has)....When I create a web page with the C# code placed in a separate file I can't seem to easily add page events (apart from Page_Load). When I open the C# class code for the page all I see in the two drop-down boxes above the code is "Default" (with no other options in the drop-down) in the left-hand box and "ApplicationInstance,form1,Page_Load(object sender,EventArgs e),Profile" in the right hand box. I can't see a way to create the code for the other page events from either of these drop-downs.If I keep the C# code in the same file (i.e., not use code separation) everything works fine - I see "Server Objects & Events, Page, Form1, etc..." in the left hand drop-down and I can create new events in the right drop-down when either Page or Form1 are selected in the left box.Am I missing something really obvious?Many thanks for any suggestions

Why events are not fired in this Server Control ?

I have a server control which consists of another server control with a custom navigation panel  with 4 buttons for Next, Previous,.. and a GridView.  I'm trying to publicate events of the image buttons of the navigation panel in order to update the GridView pagination in the outter Server control, but image buttons events are not beig fired. See code bellow, just for MoveNext(). Thanks a lot in advance.

public class cSCGridNavigatorPanel: WebControl, INamingContainer
{
  ..
  protected ImageButton fbtnNext;
  ..
  public event ImageClickEventHandler btnNext_Click;
  protected void fbtnNext_Click(object sender, ImageClickEventArgs e)
  {
    if (btnNext_Click != null)
      btnNext_Click(sender, e);
  }

  ..
  protected override void CreateChildControls()
  {
    ..
    fbtnFirst = new ImageButton();
    fbtnFirst.Click += new ImageClickEventHandler(fbtnFirst_Click);
    this.Controls.Add(fbtnFirst);
    ..
  }

  protected override void Render(HtmlTextWriter writer)
  {
    EnsureChildControls();

Adding a server control on aspx page does not add events in aspx.designer.vb file

Hi,

I work in VS 2008. Whenver I add a server control(Label) and set it properties in aspx.vb and build the solution, I get the error "Label1 not declared". While analyzing this issue I noticed that the event handler statements for the Label1 where not added in the designer.asp.vb file. These statement would actually be added automatically when I drag and drop a control to my webpage.

I would also like to inform the scenario after which this problem came to me. I was working in VS 2008 , VS 2005 and VS 2003 in the same machine.Could this have caused the issue ? Please advise.

Now each and everytime when I add a control, I am adding the "With Events" code in the designer page to make my build succesfull which makes me to spend more efforts.

Please advise if any settings have to be changed.

Thanks,

Arunesan

handling html server control events

How to wire up HTML server controls events?

I added a Input (Text) control in my web form and turned it into an HTML server control so its an instance of HtmlInputText class.

If I double click on the control It only adds a OnClick event handler method inside the script tags in the HTML doc of the web form but how to I get to handle its Serverchange event exactly? does VS.net 2008 has no ability to auto wire up the event to the control, do I have to manually wire up the event handler?

SMO Server Events

Hi, well I don´t know where to start. My english is not good enough but I hope somebody can help me with this problem;

I'm developping an app with VC++ to monitor an SQL Server 2008 Database and I got this exception when I try my code in a REMOTE Sql Server 2008 R2.  But First, let me tell you that I don´t get this problem when I run my code in local machine with Win Vista.  Some comments that I have found referenced me to an Security Issue or Credentials; right now I feel a little worry!!!!

Capturing deadlock events in SQL Server 2005 - SP2

Hi.

I need to capture the deadlock events with SQL Profiler. A deadlock occurs for a SSAS 2005 processing cube and with my trace with the deadlock events selected isn't able to register the deadlock! Do I activate any trace flags to capture and analyze this deadlock?

Any suggests to me to solve this issue, please? Many thanks

call JavaScript - jQuery code from ASP.NET Server-Side

jQuery got so close to me lately that I can see myself adding the scripts to my project almost unconsciously. The thing is, jQuery is very useful for me, in almost all situations and it has been a do or die enhancement for all my project since I first put my hands on it.

Of course while using it, you encounter few situations which need a bit of research to solve, mostly when you are trying to combine it with some other technologies like: UpdatePanels and ASP.NET Ajax. For instance there are many situations when I would like to run some jQuery magic based on some decision that I make on the server side.

Making Ajax Callbacks to the Server Using jQuery with ASP.NET

In the first part of this article series I introduced jQuery's functionality and how it provides a rich client side programming model. This time around I'll expand on these concepts and show you how you can use jQuery in combination with ASP.NET using it as an AJAX backend to retrieve data. I'll also discuss how you can create ASP.NET controls and otherwise interact with jQuery content from ASP.NET pages in WebForms.

jQuery is just a JavaScript library so it will work seamlessly with ASP.NET both from page code as well as through backend driven code using the Page.ClientScript object or ScriptManager. You can use jQuery on its own as a client side and Ajax library that communicates with ASP.NET or you can use jQuery in combination with ASP.NET AJAX. The two actually complement each other quite well as jQuery provides functionality that the ASP.NET AJAX library does not and vice versa. For the most part the interaction between the two libraries is trouble free except for a few very rare edge cases.

MS SQL Server: Disconnect Users From Database - Kill User Session

If you ever wanted to restore your database from a SQL backup file (.bak), but there are still users connected to your database, the backup operation will fail causing the error: Exclusive access could not be obtained because the database is in use.

MS SQL Server: Search All Tables, Columns & Rows For Data or Keyword Query

If you need to search your entire database for specific data, this query will come in handy.

So when a client needs a custom report or some sort of custom development using Great Plains, most of the time I will have to track down the data in the system by running this query and find the table(s) it is in.

Publishing SQL Server Database using Publishing Wizard : Tips & Tricks

We can use SQL Server Publishing Wizard to deploy our local Database to remote hosting server/production server.This feature is available in SQL Server 2008/VWD 2008.

Below is the complete step by step guide of this process.

CLR Integration With Microsoft SQL Server

Transact-SQL provides as much flexibility as possible but, because it is not a real programming language, it has some shortcomings about many issues (memory management, exception handling, debugging, file processing (or streaming), object-orientation (classes), or thread management). Transact-SQL also lacks features of normal libraries (arrays, collections, serialization, expressions, or string manipulations, etc).

IP Address Blocking or Restriction in SQL Server

"is it possible to block connections to SQL Server based on IP address". As far as now there is no official way in SQL Server to block the connections in SQL Server based on IP address. However this can be done from the OS end, we have the following three options available, refer HERE for more.

.Firewall
.IPSec
.RRAS IP Filter
