Keeping precedence constraint arrrows behind tasks

Posted By:      Posted Date: October 10, 2010    Points: 0   Category :Sql Server

I do understand this is a bit esoteric, but in trying to clean up my designs for the next person that has to work on them, it would be awfully nice to push those lines visually behind the tasks.  Is there a way to do it that I'm missing ?  Thanks !

How to determine the contents of a variables in precedence constraint editor?

Hi All I am trying to create a precedence constraint on one of my SQL tasks, basically all I need to do it find out if a user variable (string Value) is equal to 'no'. I have tried and came up with this: @[User::NewMonth] = "no" However, as I am unfamiliar with the syntax, this is wrong and I get an error. Can anyone help or point me in the right direction? Thanks BigGopher

Dialogs and ViewModel - Using Tasks as a Pattern

The ViewModel/MVVM pattern continues to gain popularity, with a blog post showing up every so often, and with tweets and retweets popping up even more often :-). At the same time, there are some interesting topics beyond the core pattern that continue to fuel experimentation. A big one amongst those is how should applications use dialogs when using the view model pattern.

The crux of the problem is the desire to keep the view model independent of UI concerns, and ensure it can be tested in a standalone manner, but that often comes to odds when you want the view model to launch a dialog, and/or do some work after the dialog is closed.

While the Visual Studio® Build menu's Build Solution option is the usual way developers compile their current work on a project, the process of building the complete solution for testing, deployment, or production often requires many more steps.

Visual Basic: Simplify Common Tasks by Customizing the My Namespace

Underlying the My namespace's APIs is a fully extensible architecture you can leverage to customize the behavior of My and to add new services to its hierarchy to adapt to specific application needs. the My namespace is optimized to provide simple solutions to common problems. But if your requirements are different, you can use the My namespace's customization model to modify the behavior of individual My namespace members to meet specific application requirements.

Generative Programming: Modern Techniques to Automate Repetitive Programming Tasks

Even when developers have recurring computer-readable metadata to process and a clear idea of how code should be structured, they can still find themselves in need of a technique to automatically generate the code to avoid the drudge work of repeatedly writing and tweaking it. Generative programming is a technique that addresses this problem. Using generative programming techniques, you can solve software engineering problems in families, rather than individually, saving time and coding effort. This article describes these techniques, and builds a sample template-driven code generator. The article also lists existing utilities that have been built with generative programming techniques, as well as actual code generators.

Errors when interacting with WorkFlow generated tasks through ISA Server

I have a MOSs environment that I have published through ISA Server 2006 and i am getting really strange behavior whentrying to interact with WorkLFow generated tasks when I have connected through ISA. This also seems to affect InfoPath Forms Services. I was wondering if anyone out there is seeing any problems when using ISA Server to interact wih Forms or WorkFlows?

The error I get simply states:

the form cannot be submitted to the web server either because your computer is offline or because the host server is currently unavailable.

Any help would be appreciated.

The DELETE statement conflicted with the REFERENCE constraint

I have created ASP.Net Dynamic data web site using scaffolding in Visual Studio 2010. When I click on delete in data grid for customer table I got below error message.

The DELETE statement conflicted with the REFERENCE constraint "FK_Order_Details_Products". The conflict occured in database "../NORTHWIND.MDF", table "dbo.order details", column 'ProductId'

The statement has been terminated

Creating background tasks.

Actually i'm creating an application in asp.net using c#.

I upload a powerpoint file and convert it to wmv format.Since the process of conversion is huge process(depends on the size of the file.Usually around 5 to 10 minutes.)i want to do in the background.So i upload a file and copy it to the server.(i using mysql as the database).In the server i just want to do the conversion.Once the conversion is finished.it should update the table.The user can use the file some time later or the next time.How could i do this ? Could somebody help me ?

Reading/writing Word documents - keeping formatting

I've done some reading about reading from and writing to a Word doc. The reading from worked without issue:

string strPath = "Test.doc";
FileStream fStream = new FileStream
    (strPath, FileMode.Open, FileAccess.Read);
StreamReader sReader = new StreamReader(fStream);
string text = sReader.ReadToEnd();

But of course this is just a string, without any formatting information included. Writing to the document using a StreamWriter worked, but I received errors when opening the document.

I've also read that trying to perform actions on an Office document on a server without the Office products installed on it can result in mayhem. I'm working on a MVC application that will allow users to upload documents to the server, work on them, save their work and email it around. That doesn't specifically require the need to read/write programmatically, but for certain application functions I do need this. Any helpful suggestions are appreciated.

How do I add two XML tasks to a Data FLow task?

I am new to SSIS and am developing a package which takes input from an XML file and then populates an existing SQL table with these records.  However, this is a very large XML file.  I keep getting an Out of Memory exception.  (This file is 210 MB)!  So what I tried doing was separating this XML file into 8 smaller files.  Now, I can successfully load data from these smaller files one at a time.  But how can I do all of them in the same package?  I connected two XML tasks to the Data Flow task and get the error below.  I also increased my timeout and number of errors to no avail.  Advice? Error: 0xC002F304 at XML Task 1, XML Task: An error occurred with the following error message: "Exception of type 'System.OutOfMemoryException' was thrown.". SQL DIAGOSITC MANAGER tools capture "SELECT *" statement while ALTER / ADD CHECK CONSTRAINT is execu

Hello  ,   I exectuted the code(alter/add with check)  below in SSMS . My_table has 200 millions records . While running the alter/add with check query  the server crashed and the “SQL DIAGOSITC MANAGER” which run on the top of sql serever alert the DBA that select * from my_table was obtained from the last command issued by the user using a DBCC command.      Where does the select * from my_table comes from ? I didn’t excuted select * from my_table at all .   After the sql serever re started I was able to run the command below with out any problem. I checked the SQL PROFILER for the trace there is no “select * from my_table” .   So again where this select * from my_table comes from ?   Here is my initial query ----------------------------------------------------------------- ALTER TABLE [Dbo].my_table WITH CHECK ADD  CONSTRAINT [FK_key1] FOREIGN KEY([Key1]) REFERENCES [Dbo].[Dim_table1] ([Key1]) GO   ALTER TABLE [Dbo].my_table CHECK CONSTRAINT [FK_key1] GO   ALTER TABLE [Dbo].my_table WITH CHECK ADD  CONSTRAINT [FK_key2] FOREIGN KEY([key2]) REFERENCES [Dbo].[Dim_table2] ([key2]) GO   ALTER TABLE [Dbo].my_table CHECK CONSTRAINT [FK_key2] GO   ALTER TABLE [Dbo].my_table WITH CHECK ADD  CONSTRAINT [FK_key3] FOREIGN KEY([d], [c], [r], [g]) REFERENCES [Dbo].my
