A SharePoint solution I am currently working on is displaying the error above and shows the following in the body of the stack trace (IE 8):
[NullReferenceException: Object reference not set to an instance of an object.]
The solution makes use of a custom master page and this includes a server control with a class (in C#) that inherites from two base classes - a custom class as well as IDesignTimeHtmlProvider (a no-no?). This server control
seems to be breaking the master page and all associated content pages.
Did moving the solution from .NET 2.0 to 3.5 and using Visual Studio 2010 instead of 2008 (used for the solution's initial development) cause the problem above?
Please let me know if further information is needed. Many thanks for your help with this.
