Does anybody have links to relevant articles on how Facebook Connect integrates with the Membership provider?
I'd like to make a .net site where you can login through the membership provider, or the Facebook Connect system. But the big question is, how does your asp.net application know when the Facebook authentication has been successful. Without manually entering a username and password, is there a function to authenticate users and draw the profile info from Facebook's data?
It seems like a good system, but the documentation is sparse.
I have a scenario where i need to develop a 6 stage approval workflow(sequential) using WWF and depoly it to sharepoint. Everythigns fine till here.
Now we look ahead to change the Status field on the documents library which actually has the Workflow Name as the column name and its value being In Progress, depending on the stage of approval. Like(Approved 1, Approved 2, Approved 3.)
And if rejected the status should be rejected than Completed. Any idea how can we update this column of the List item.
I have tried item[workflowProperties.Workflow.ParentAssociation.Name]="Approved 1";
But this throws an error saying input string is not in a correct format.
Any information would be of great help :)
I have developed a sharepoint approval workflow using VS.NET 2008. Workflow fires when any new item is created. Three parallel task is created and waiting for approval.
Workflow will only completed when all three approvers approves/completes their task. I want to change the status (denied) of the workflow every tuesday 11:59PM if any one of the approval is pending. This denial work I want to perform by programatically
within the workflow.
so I need suggestion how do I achieve the above scenario?
Do I write any timer job to monitor workflow status on every tuesday 11:59PM and denied as per the logic mentioned above.
Do I encaptualte the denial logic withing the workflow itself?
Please suggest a way to solve the problem...
I have a gridview and a button-Start in aspx page.
In gridview 3 columns checkbox , Name and Status.
Select multiple columns and click on Start then Status column for selected rows should be changed to "Starting...", later it should be changed to "Started".
But it is showing directly "Started". In the mean time i should see "Starting..." also.
Here is my code
<asp:GridView runat="server" AutoGenerateColumns="False">
<asp:TemplateField> <ItemTemplate> <asp:CheckBox runat="server"/>
<ItemTemplate> <asp:BoundField HeaderText="Name" DataField="Name" />
<asp:TemplateField HeaderText="Status"> &nb
I'm facing the following problem:
I have an embedeed silverlight xap application inside a custom visual webpart, that access SharePoint data through Microsoft.SharePoint.Client.Silverlight classes, and I have to modify some fields from an item from a list that has "Require content approval"
enabled. I update the item successfully, but its approval status is set to "Pending" afterwards.
How can I re-approve the content programatically?
Some additional information:
I create a Setup for my project in Visual Studio.I want to change the progress bar status Text at runtime.The default status text is "Please Wait" .To change the Status Text I call the API method "MsiGetMode" .But there are two parameter
of this method one is "install (Handle to the installation provided to a DLL custom action or obtained through <see cref="MsiOpenPackage"/>, <see cref="MsiOpenPackageEx"/>, or <see cref="MsiOpenProduct"/>) " How can i get
this first parameter in my installer class.And second parameter is "runmode(Specifies the run mode)" .If there is any other way how can i do that.
Please help me
Thanks & Regards,
One particular instance of the workflow shows workflow status column as empty although it should be showing IN PROGRESS since if click on workflows from item's context menu I can see the workflow running on it; _layouts/workflow.aspx show it as
This workflow was not created 60 days ago and its not complete. I wonder why it displays empty in the workflow status column.
Also can this column be changed from web service? I tried using:
<FieldRef Name='myworkflow'>2</Field><FieldRef Name='ID'>23</Field>
and updating it. While the webservice code does not throw any error and ListService.UpdateItems() returns 0x000000, this column doesnt get updated. Any ideas what could be wrong?
I want a workflow on a content type with a status column (new, pending, completed, ....)
I want it to fire off when this column changes, not when the item is updated, because it might be updated for other reasons (the title changed). How do I make sure it only happens on the column change?
I have an announcements list that we use for alerts. This list has a working custom SPD workflow attached for emailing the posted alerts.
Recently, I setup and applied an information policy to the alert content type assigned to this list that takes the Expires date and runs a workflow that copies the expired items to another list (archive list) and then deletes the expired items
from the active list. The policy works great for newly created items. However, for the already existing 300 list items the Information Policy and its workflow do not work. In the Exempt From Policy column, these items are marked as follows: "This
item is exempt from policy. This item will not be expired until the exemption is removed. Remove Exemption..."
I cannot make the change in Data View because the Exempt From Policy status is set by SharePoint. It cannot be updated except by opening each item and clicking Remove Exemption. My boss has assigned me with finding a bulk method to make the change.
I've tried to create a workflow in SPD (with extended workflows added) to change the Exempt From Policy column status to nonexempt. Unfortunately, I cannot find a way to make this happen even though I googled this issue
I use in my ASP.NET MVC application repository pattern and I use in controller for example 3 models:
public class HomepageController : Controller
private IWebsitesRepository _repository_websites = new WebsitesRepository();
private IFirmRepository _repository_firm = new FirmRepository();
private IPhotosRepository _repository_photos = new PhotosRepository();
In WebsiteRepozitory, FirmRepository and PhotosRepository classes I have:
Database1Entities _entities = new Database1Entities();
So I have 3 connections to database ? Is it wrong ? How can I solve it ?
As this site, http://www.borfin.com.tr/genel/Default.aspx, How can I change the background color selected pages.
Scenario: If you create a table with a column of type nvarchar, populate it with some content and try to modify it using the WebMatrix editor, from nvarchar to ntext, it does not display any error message or warning that this is not possible. It silently saves and reverts the change, back to nvarchar. Wasted some hours on this issue as I thought my column was ntext, but in fact was still nvarchar.
Expected behavior: It should change to ntext, or if SQL CE doesn't support that, it should notify the user that no change was applied.
I've tried setting the <pages pageBaseType="DynamicWebPage" /> value in web.config, but when I response.write out the page type, I'm still getting Microsoft.WebPages.WebPage.
I'm simply trying to sub-class WebPage and add some additional functionality such as a dynamic PageData dictionary similar to Phil Haack's dynamic ViewData dictionary.
