report definition cannot find custom assembly in VS 2010

Posted By:      Posted Date: October 09, 2010    Points: 0   Category :Windows Application

Hello,

I;m trying to use custom code (C#) in a report definition and I have followed the steps outlined in MSDN to get this done. However, whenever I compile the code, I keep getting the following error

"Error while loading code module: ‘GSLibrary, Version=1.0.0.0, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=null’. Details: Could not load file or assembly 'GSLibrary, Version=1.0.0.0, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=null' or one of its dependencies. The system cannot find the file specified."

I've scoured through this forum and the net looking for answers but nothing seems to work. The closest answer was to mark the assembly as a trusted code module in the current app domain, but VS2010 complains that this method is deprecated.

The assembly works just fine elsewhere in code. How do I get custom C# code to work with the reports I am creating.

Thanks for your help.

Deploying custom 2007 site definition to 2010

For a customer I am upgrading their SharePoint 2007 enviroment to SharePoint 2010. After a succesfull upgrade I am stuck with one last annoying problem: when creating a publishing site collection using a custom definition the provisioning of the site definition  fails. Interesting about this is that the provisioning works from the central admin UI, but this customer has an custom webpart for creating site collections in a web application outside of Central administration. The simplified code for this is: public static bool Create(SPWebApplication webApp, string Url, string siteTitle, string siteDescription, uint lcid, string siteTemplate, string ownerLogin, string ownerName, string ownerEmail)         { SPSite site = null; try { SPSite newSiteCollection = webApp.Sites.Add(Url, siteTitle, siteDescription, lcid, siteTemplate, ownerLogin, ownerName, ownerEmail); newSiteCollection.Close(); newSiteCollection.Dispose(); site = GetRootSite(webApp); bool r = (site != null) ? true : false; return r; } catch { return false; } finally { if (site != null) site.Dispose(); }         } The exception is thrown when webApp.Sites.Add() is executed. VS 2010 Isolated Shell, WPF Designer & Custom Controls produces some assembly reference errors

Hello, i currently try to use the VS 2010 isolated shell for providing a custom WPF editor.As described in the headline the WPF designer is 'partly' not able to find all assemblies (details below). After some research the only similar problem description i found here . Unfortunately I could not find any solution for my problem there. These are the steps i have successfully finished: - create a vs isolated shell application with some basic extensions (some tool windows) - create a Custom Project template based upon the MPFProj project (as describe at: here ) - Add the needed reference for custom control in project template - Create and edit XAML markup (no code behind, only markup) - Compile and run XAML Now, the following problem occurred (as a step by step description): - I add a custom control to the toolbox using the context menu "Choose Items..." (ok ) - I drag this custom control from the toolbox into the WPF designer view (ok ) - The custom control is rendered correctly and no assembly reference errors occurred (ok ) - I hit the F5 button in order to execute the XAML markup -> The application is starting correct and looks as exspected (ok ) - I close the running application (window) -> Now the WPF designer view seems to refresh and 'tells' me that an assembly (the one of the custom control) could not be found (error!!! ): There error text is: "Th

Reg: Does Custom site definition created in SharePoint 2007 works in Sharepoint 2010

All,

If one has created a custom site definition in sharepoint 2007, Once the whole site is migrated to sharePoint 2010 will that "custom site definition" created in 2007 will work without breaking in SharePoint 2010?

If No, what has to be done to make it work on 2010.

Thanks,

Sharepoint 2010 Standard Edition Custom List Reporting Using Report Builder 3.0

hi, i'm making this report from a sharepoint list. i want to add some of the fields as the parameters for the report. (e.g : Category, Department)

trying to use custom assembly with script task in SSIS 2008 - can't find correct version of GACUtil

I am trying to use a custom assembly (compiled with VS 2005 framework 2.0) with SSIS 2008.  I understand that I need to put this Assembly in the GAC.  I initially attempted to do this using the GACUtil, but I apparently only have version 1.1 of GACUtil intalled on my development PC.  Shouldn't version 2.0 have been installed as part of VS 2005?

So I then tried simply copying the dll into the GAC folder using windows explorer.  Well, the dll is now visibly in the GAC folder, but I cannot see it from either VS 2005 or BIDS 2008.  Does that mean I do need to use GACUtil 2.0 or higher to install the DLL into the GAC?  If so, is there any place on the Web that I can download it?

Custom Discussion Board List Definition in SharePoint 2010

Hi All,

I have created a custom discussion list definition using Visual Studio 2010 in SharePoint 2010. I had an issue, since by default, Visual Studio creates the custom discussion list definition as custom list. So, I have modified the my own Schema.xml with the standard SharePoint discussion Schema.xml by adding views section.

After deploying successfully, when i looked at the Threaded view, it gives a javascript error. I cannot open "Show Quoted Messages" link.

Could anybody face this problem? Please suggest on how to resolve this issue.

Thanks

report definition is not valid

Hi,

I recently upgraded to VS 2010.  One on of my reports I am getting the following error.  Can someone help?

The report definition is not valid. Details: The report definition has an invalid target namespace 'http://schemas.microsoft.com/sqlserver/reporting/2010/01/reportdefinition' which cannot be upgraded.

Thank you.

Can't find my datacontext in custom fieldtemplate

I am trying to implement sjnaughton's ChildrenGrid (a Dynamic Data FieldTemplate that displays foreign key child rows...) ... I am having problems at runtime, though. The following call in my code:

table = GridDataSource.GetTable();

Is failing with the error: System.Web.HttpException: Could not load type 'ModelDataContext'.

ModelDataContext is indeed the name of my .dbml file... I can declare a local instance of this class and that works fine,something like

var t = new ModelDataContext();

No exception. And the rest of my Dynamic Data classes work fine. I am trying to get the table from a griddatasource, and I know I am setting the context properly on this line

GridDataSource.ContextTypeName = metaChildColumn.ChildTable.DataContextType.Name;

I have debugged and the string is set to "ModelDataContext" just fine. I tried appending the full namespace for my context, like "MyApp.App_Code.ModelDataContext", but then I get an ambiguous assembly name... but I only have one ModelDAtaContext... I cleaned out my project, deleted ASP.NET temp folder files, etc. Still, no dice. Here is the code in full context:

using System;
using System.Data;
using System.Configuration;
using System.

Search Server Gatherer - Custom hierarchical protocol handler ISearchProtocol for MOSS 2010

Hi,

Search server gatherer calls CloseAccessor() and shutdown() on ISearchProtocol after GetChunk() even if the FILTER_E_END_OF_CHUNKS is not returned. After calling shutdown() it stops calling the createaccessor() with new URL. I want to create a hierarchical indexing but I am not gatherer is not suporting this. The same piece of code is working fine in MOSS 2007, I am facing this issue in MOSS 2010 only. Is there anything changed in MOSS 2010 which is creating this issue?

Thanks,

Lalitesh
