Multilingual Interface (Hindi) custom, webpart issue disappearance in share point 2007

Hi This is regarding the disappearance of custom  web parts in the multilingual site developed using MOSS 2007. The multilingual feature has been implemented using variations. All the custom web parts disappear when viewed after some time.  When the custom web parts are deployed to the site, it appears and they disappear when viewed after some time.  I have done local deployment as well as GAC deployment of the web parts dll. Both have the same effect. I have added the respective resource files for the web parts in the user control folder.    Thanks In Advance uttam

Sharepoint site collections

More Detail

We had a 3rd party into to develop the share-point service, This is really a very difficult situation not the solution but the documents that are stored and the way it was retrieved.

The real thing is that we receive an item it is booked into SAP and then we send an automated xml to set up a local site this site will then have details from the SAP system fed by ABAP. After the site is created, and then we add documents files and .jpg. These documents must show a detailed audit trail so that if challenged in a court of law can show who had access and who updated documents.

SO the problem is

1 Site Collection that is 170gig and the design means that we have 1600 sites and these contain images that are stored in the single site collection. How do we remove the full documents and images and replace with links rather than the doc, img.

Unable to provide a Custom WindowsTokenRoleProvider in Share Point Foundation 2010

Hi All,

I have created my web application in Share Point Foundation 2010 with Classic Mode.

Thereafter, I need to use a Custom Windows TokenRoleProvider.

While this worked well in WSS 3.0, the  Roles.CreateRole(roleName) fails to create a role in SPF 2010.

I have the web.config entries as given below

<membership defaultProvider="CustWindowsMembershipProvider">

        <clear />

<add name="CustSqlMembershipProvider" .....

 <roleManager enabled="true" defaultProvider="CustWindowsTokenRoleProvider">
        <clear />

<add name="CustWindowsTokenRoleProvider" ....

Are any other configurations  for custom membership and role providers in SPF 2010?

Kindly provide your suggestions.

Thanks and regards,

Export Visio Database Table Names to Excel

If you use the Enterprise Architect edition of Microsoft Visio for data modeling regularly, then there is a good chance that at some point you've wanted to export just the table names into Excel. You might want to do this to map logical ERD entities to physical data model tables, track project status by entity, or track overlap between database versions.

Create/add table from code to database

I create table:

                  DataSet data=new DataSet();

                  DataTable myTable = new DataTable("NewTable");

                   DataColumn[] keys = new DataColumn[1];

                   // create column
                   keys[0] = new DataColumn();
                   keys[0].DataType = System.Type.GetType("System.String");
                   keys[0].ColumnName = "PointID";
                   myTable.Columns.Add(keys[0]);    &nb

{ End Bracket }: Creating a Custom Metrics Tool

Metrics play an important role in our lives. Even if we don't realize it or characterize it as such, many daily activities have the potential to be quantified to some degree. So it's not surprising that metrics play an even greater role in the workplace, where there are goals and a bottom line and where much of a day's activity can be summarized in numbers.

DataGrid: Tailor Your DataGrid Apps Using Table Style and Custom Column Style Objects

One of the most enduring challenges in writing user interfaces is figuring out how to display large amounts of data efficiently and intuitively without bewildering the user. The problem becomes particularly thorny when the interface must reflect hierarchical relationships within the data that the user needs to modify. The Windows Forms DataGrid control gives developers a powerful and flexible tool to meet this challenge. This article explains its basic operations and shows how to extend the DataGrid to display columns of data in an application-appropriate manner.
