SubMenu Items Don't Show

Posted By:      Posted Date: October 09, 2010    Points: 0   Category :ASP.Net

I have a horizantal menu that has 3 items.

Home         Solutions           Contact

                   Technical Support

As you can see when you hover over Solutions it displays 3 submenu items.

Beneath this menu, I have a JavaScript Slide Show.

The problem is when you hover over Solutions it displays only the first 2 submenu items, the 3rd one (Technical Support) is chopped off by the JavaScript Slide Show.

I have tried this in IE & FireFox and the same problem occurs.

Can anyone please assist me in why the JavaScript Slide Show makes the sub menu items dissappear?

Assembly items don't show in SSIS Data Flow

I successfully add a new assembly (MapPoint Batch Geocoder.dll) into GAC using Mscorcfg.msc and I can see it from the assembly list and I've added the dll into SSIS's PipelineComponents folder but for some reason I just cannot see it from SSIS Data Flow Item tab, I saw some others have the similar issue, and I actually tried to fix it based on their solutions such as change the framework version, but nothing changed. I am using VS2008, .NET 3.5 framework. I don't understand how come I can see it from GAC and also can see it through .NET tab in "Add References" but just not from Data Flow Item tab? Any ideas? Thanks a lot!

User Filter web part: how to show items with no value in it

I want to set up a document library View that shows the current user all items with their Department name in a column, as well as those items that don't yet have a Department name. I thought I could do this with the User Filter web part, but I am struggeling to show the items that don't yet have a department name. The problem I have is this: I created a view called "My department's items". I use the User Filter web part on it to show the user all items that have got the user's department name in a column. However, when a user forgets to fill out the department name after uploading a file, or even when they upload the file but then cancel filling out the compulsory fields, the uploaded file disappears from the "My department's items" view (because the department column is empty). How can I set up a filter to show all files that match the current user's department name as well as those that don't have a department name yet? Thanks.

Show and hide items in the list as per permission (depend on the permission)

Document Library View - "Folders or Flat --> Show all items without folders" setting not being saved

A view of a document library has a setting under Folders area if the files should be shown in their respective folder or just a flat list of file. If "Show all items withtout folders" is selected, following is my observation:

- Saving the document library as a template and creating new libraries from this template takes this setting into the new library as expected
- Saving the site as a template and creating a new site from template removes this setting from the existing document libraries in newly created sites. If a new document library is created from the document library template, the setting is ON as expected.

This seems to be related to what being discussed here http://stackoverflow.com/questions/3574095/hiding-folder-structure-for-a-view-in-sharepoint-2010-list-definition and http://social.technet.microsoft.com/Forums/en-US/sharepoint2010programming/thread/05e46fc9-cb26-4d00-aaf0-e4b6ee944104

Any feedback?

DropDownList in the FooterTemplate of a DataGrid will not show its items

I am placing a dropdown list in the footer of a DataGrid like this:

<asp:DataGrid id="MyGrid" runat="server">
            <asp:DropDownList ID="myDDL" OnLoad="myDDL_OnLoad" runat="server" />

In my code behind file, in the myDDL_OnLoad event handler, I call to the database, populate a SqlDataReader, and set the DDL's datasource to that datareader. I define what data columns should be used for the DataValueField and DataTextField of the dropdownlist. Then I call the DropDownList's DataBind() method. Everything works without error. But, when the dropdownlist is displayed, it has blank lines in it.

By that, I mean if 8 records are loaded into the dropdownlist, it will expand to a size appropriate for 8 rows but, it will be empty. there is no text in it.

Has anyone seen this type of behavior before? This dropdownlist is in the footer of a dynamically loaded ajax update panel so, it is difficult to see the source code to see what values are in the html element rendered to represent the dropdown.

Thanks in advance for any advice you can give.

Delimiter File Read Task Installer failed to show in SSIS Data Flow Items

I downloaded the Delimiter File Read and followed the instruction and installed it. The file is on the correct directory (>:\Program Files\Microsoft SQL Server\100\DTS\PipelineComponents) The file DelimitedFileReader.dll is there.

However, when I go to BI Development Studio and try to add the new task I can't see it in the SSIS Data Flow Items...it is not visible. Does anyone know why I can add/see it?

Transparent submenu items not working in ASP.net site

I have an asp.net file with a 2 level menu.  I changed the menu background to transparent.  When I run the page in the Expression Development Server it works fine but I upload the file to GoDaddy.com hosting and the submenu items display with a white background.  Is there a way to fix this and why does it behave differently in EDS and ASP.net from Godaddy?

I also created my own IIS server and posted the page with the same results.

Error: There are no items to show in this view. SharePoint Designer 2010

Hi, i got this error while editing a sharepoint subsite in SharePoint Designer 2010. We are using SharePoint 2010, Office 2010, Windows 7 and SharePoint Designer 2010 x32.

When i now open my subsite in SharePoint Desinger i cant see any Lists and Libraries, no Workflows and no Site Pages. I get these messages:

"There are no items to show in this view."
"The Document Library view connot be displayed for this Web site."

All the Libraries and Files still exist and i can view the sites still in browser. I see them at "all files". But i cant edit anything or change things.

Does anybody know that issue? What can i do to fix that?

Best regards

Join 2 tables and show the title on the top, and its items on the itemtemplate

I have table COLLECTIONS and table CLOTHES.
As an example, when showing the items on Listview, collection HAWAII would be written on the top, and its texts and images on the itemTemplate.
Then, collection WINTER and its texts and images on the itemTemplate.
And so on.

P.S: I´m connecting the Listview visually thru SQLDataSource, not programatically.

How can i do it ? On the layout template using a JOIN on the SQL Statement ?

Thanks in advance.

Advanced Search does not show items from Custom List- why?

I have search working in general for site. However, when I run it only picks up files - not list items. Even List search in top right comes up with blank results.

I read somewhere that this is switched off due to size of search results.

Can someone tell me how to include List Items in search?

Display single item from List using XSLT and show total count of all items in list

I have a simple SharePoint 2010 list named "Tips". Each item consists of a Title and Description. I want to display a single item at a time in a sidebar on my site with arrows to advance to the next or previous item in the list. I've been able to accomplish this pretty easily using OOTB SharePoint XSLT list view web part settings and AJAX. However, when I tell the web part to only display 1 item at a time the pager always says it's showing item "1 of 1" or "2 of 2". It won't show the total number of items from the list. I'd like it to show something like item "1 of 25", etc. How do I get it to display the total count of items from the list?  I've looked at possibly using aggregation attributes on a FieldRef but I've not been able to get anything to work. I'm not even sure that's the right place to be looking. I'm needing to accomplish this without writing a custom web part.

jQuery: Styling DropDownList Alternating Items (Rows)

In the following example, I will show how you can style any asp:dropdownlist very easily.

The example demonstrates how you can change alternating row items background color, using the fadeTo() to add a nice touch in the dropdownlist. You can change alt rows with a couple lines.

Hide a repeater in ASP.NET C# if the DataSource contains no items?

I have an ASP.NET page that uses a repeater nested within another repeater to generate a listing of data. It's to the effect of the following:
In the (C#) code-behind I'm basically using LINQ to pull a listing of information from an XML document and bind that information to the first repeater.

Searching for the answer to this, it seems the method is to determine whether the data for the nested repeater is empty. If it is, then you set the visibility of the repeater to false.
