SSIS Text was truncated with status value 4

I am developing a SSIS package, trying to update an existing SQL table from a CSV flat file. All of the columns are successfully updating except for one column. If I ignore this column on truncate, my package completes successfully. So I know this is a truncate problem and not error. This column is empty for almost every row. However, there are a few rows where this field is 200-300 characters. My data conversion task identified this field as a DT_WSTR, but from what I've read elsewhere maybe this should be DT_NTEXT. I've tried both and I even set the DT_WSTR to 500. But none of this fixed my problem. How can I fix? What data type should this column be in my SQL table? Error: 0xC02020A1 at Data Flow Task 1, Source - Berkeley812_csv [1]: Data conversion failed. SSIS And Sybase Source OLEDB connectivity issue with code page for character set

Hi I am using SSIS 2008 to connect the Sybase Server version 15.0.3 64-bit. The default character set id used by this Sybase server is 4 (i.e. roman8). (http://manuals.sybase.com/onlinebooks/group-charc/chg0300e/charsets/@Generic__BookTextView/1706;pt=266) I had installed Sybase Client for Sybase OLEDB Driver (ASEOLEDB) to integrate this in OLEDB Source Editor. As per guidance from one of the past MSDN forum discussion, I tried setting property of AlwaysUseDefaultCodePage property to "FALSE"  (http://social.msdn.microsoft.com/forums/en-US/sqlintegrationservices/thread/f5af9328-e1fb-48d7-a85d-1d08bb7cf0e5/). However, I am still experiencing error message as follows:- ********************************************************* Error at Package2 [Connection manager "xxxxxx.xxxxxxx"]: SSIS Error Code DTS_E_OLEDBERROR.  An OLE DB error has occurred. Text truncated to 255 using SSIS ACE.oledbprovider to import excel 2007 spreadsheet

Hi All, Trying to use SSIS SQL 2005 to import an Excel 2007 file (.xlsx). I'm using Office 12.0 Access Database Engine OLEDB Provider with extended properties Excel 12.0;HDR=Yes;IMEX=1 The problem is when I have text with more than 255 characters. It basically defaults the source output to Unicode string[DT_WSTR] 255, If I change it it errors out. I have done the registry change according to http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/ms141683.aspx but I think it only applies to Excel source not OleDb Source. (A Excel source does give me a text instead of string )   I have also tried to increasing the length of output such as 4000 instead of 255 but it doesn't allow either.   Anybody can help?I'm stuck for a day. Thank you very much for your help. Regards, Koala

Using a Variable in SSIS - Error - "Command text was not set for the command object.".

Hi All, i am using a OLE DB Source in my dataflow component and want to select rows from the source based on the Name I enter during execution time. I have created two variables, enterName - String packageLevel (will store the name I enter) myVar - String packageLevel. I select that and when I click on OK am getting this error.   Error at Data Flow Task [OLE DB Source [1]]: An OLE DB error has occurred. Error code: 0x80040E0C.An OLE DB record is available.  Source: "Microsoft SQL Native Client"  Hresult: 0x80040E0C  Description: "Command text was not set for the command object.". Can Someone guide me whr am going wrong? myVar variable, i have set the ExecuteAsExpression  Property to true too. Please let me know where am going wrong? Thanks in advance.

Error while using ssis deployment manifest on target computer

Hi, I have just copied across my Deployment folder for my SSIS package to a target SQL Server box to deploy it there.  However, when I try to deploy it there by double clicking on the manifest file, I get the following error.  Can someone please help me out?  I have done this before but never had this issue. Cheers TITLE: Package Installation Wizard ------------------------------ Unexpected error occurred. ------------------------------ ADDITIONAL INFORMATION: Error while parsing deployment manifest: The 'DTSConfiguration' element is not declared. (DTSInstall) ------------------------------ The 'DTSConfiguration' element is not declared. (System.Xml) ------------------------------ BUTTONS: OK ------------------------------

TCP error code 10061: No connection could be made because the target machine actively refused it.

I hosted a wcf service application using windows services. When my client (ASP.NET) tries to call the service class hosted by the windows service, I get this error "TCP error code 10061: No connection could be made because the target machine actively refused it. ". Is there a fix for this? The same code works fine if I host it using a console application.

SSIS Error Code DTS_E_CANNOTACQUIRECONNECTIONFROMCONNECTIONMANAGER

When I execute a DTSX (which was developed in BIDS 2005) in through

command prompt (on a server which only has SQL Server 2005 and SSIS 2005) using dtexec.exe against /File paramger, it was working perfectly fine.

However, I get the following error message after executing on a server which has SQL Server 2005 and SSIS 2005 & 2008.  Is it possible to execute a DTSX, which was developed in BIDS 2005, on a server that has both SSIS 2005 & 2008?  Please advise.  I often get the following error message in such case.  Thanks!

Command:

    "c:\Program Files\Microsoft SQL Server\90\DTS\Binn\dtexec" /FILE \\server123\DATA\AMP.dtsx /DECRYPT PassWordd > \\server123\DATA\output.txt

[Sharepoint 2007]Parse error when I add code behind the page to a normal aspx page ?

Hi all,

I dont need this form to be embedded into Sharepoint. I am adding this webpage into Sharepoint because i has issues due to cross-domain permission. I cannot call refresh sharepoint from my op up window  webpage. Therefore i want to add my webpage into the same domain as sharepoint.

I have added the webpage aspx form into Sharepoint from the sharepoint designer 2007. I would like to add code behind the page too.

What i have done at the moment was to create a project in visual studio for the code behind the page. I folloed this article :

http://www.andrewconnell.com/blog/articles/UsingCodeBehindFilesInSharePointSites.aspx

Then i have added the dll intothe bin of my sharepoint site. i have also added in webconfig the dll.

However i got the following error :

Getting error message and other data back from SSIS to managed code

Hi,

From a SharePoint workflow we are trying to synchronously execute an SSIS package - which seems to work - and display error messages and return some variables back to SharePoint.

I followed the "Running a Package Remotely by Calling a Remote Component or Service" instructions on http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/ms403355.aspx and executing and parameterizing the package does not seem to be a problem. But the SSIS package does a lot of plausibility checking and raises an error (RAISERROR in T-SQL or Error

I seem to get a random error when i open the rich text editor in a content editor web part and try to save the changes.

The error i get is:
Are you sure you want to navigate away from this page?
The page took too long to save. You can click "Cancel", and then try to save the page again. If you click "OK", you might lose unsaved data.
Press OK to continue, or Cancel to stay on the current page.

If i click OK it seems to save the changes but this problem is very annoying and users are obviously worried when they see this error.
Does anyone have any ideas what is causeing this error across the entire site? and are there any fixes?

thanks for your time,

How to inject htlm code into text field and load it into the view page

 Hi to all,

I woul like to ask for advice how to inject HTML code into text field and load it into the view,

I am giving the user the possibility to add/edit text on the page using Text-Box control.

My goal is to let the user add Url link into the page. Example:

The user enter the word "[[About us]]" and the system needs to translate it into

<a href="<%=Url.Action("Details","Page", new{id="About us"}) %>">About us</a>

In the view i am using encoding: Html.Encode(Model.Page.Description).

I can write in the controller a method that will send to the view the correct syntax.

But the view encode all information therefore it's not working.

How sould i inject html code into existing text and load it into the view correctly ?

Any advice will be appreciated

Thank you

Ori

SSIS Error Code DTS_E_OLEDBERROR. An OLE DB error has occurred. Error code: 0x80040E37

I am using SSIS 2008, trying to import several Excel files into SQL Server using a FOREACH loop.  I can successfully do this for just one file.  But now I specify a folder containing Excel files and it errors although it does write some records.  All Excel files have same columns and format.  And I only need data from the first worksheet in each file.

Caveat is that the worksheet names between files differs slightly.  My boss wants a solution that is permanent without intervention so that each year customers can upload a new file and SSIS package doesn't need to be changed.  So although I could manually change worksheet name(s), this is not ideal.  Also a loop looping through all Excel files in specified folder is what he wants.

Here is the error I get in SSIS when I run my SSIS package using variables:
