Communication using TCP Endpoint IP troubles help

I want to create a service library and a self hosting console app.

I want to deploy the app in my house with my computer with ip 71.57. XXX.XX but my router gives me 192.168.X.XXX. This is my app.config in my service library.

Communication between 2 WPF windows using TCP Endpoint


I want to first of all apologize because i am totally new with using WCF.

What im trying to do is have 2 WPF windows send objects or whatever back and fourth.

What I have now is a client that has a service reference to my Service Library using TCP

I also created a host, because this we tutorial told me to, and this host is simply

With my host running in the background and my client running i can send and receive evals with no problem. Even if i open up 2 of the WPF client i get the messages on both ends. So basically communication is great on the same machine.

I have a main workflow service and another "agent" workflow service.  The agent workflow service will be hosted on a bunch of machines, all listening on the same port.  For example, the endpoint addresses of the agent workflow services would be: http://ServerABC:9700/SomeService, http://ServerDEF:9700/SomeService, and so on.

The main workflow service (which is hosted on a separate server) needs to determine at runtime the agent it should talk to.  For example: if the main workflow is passed a server name "ServerABC" as a parameter, it needs to figure out that it has to communicate with the agent on http://ServerABC:9700/SomeService.

The main and agent services are built using the designer. I am using context correlation between the main and the agent workflow services.

How can I set the endpoint address dynamically in the Send activity of the main workflow?

Below is a portion of the web.config file from the main workflow service.  Note the commented portion.  If I specify it that way, it works because it knows the address of the agent's endpoint. That's alright if the agent is running on only one server.  But I need to find that address at runtime in the main workflow service.

Event ID 1011 - DefaultAppPool World Wid Web Pub. Serv. fatal communication error

We have a Windows 2003 server running IIS6 1.1 Framework. We have also installed a DNS and Active Directory in the same machine.

We're randomly getting the error you can see below. Sometimes it causes the recycling of process w3wp.exe (which on my understanding represents the application pool worker processd) and other times results on this process hanging and not responding to any request. To do iisrest temporarly solves the problem.

We were pointed to a possible permissions problem between the user we were runnig the DefaultAppPool with and registry entries used by the iis. We noticed the default predifined user we used, Network Service, wasn't found in the Active Directory, so we changed it by the default configurable user, IWAM_MACHINE_NAME, which is under the IIS_WPG Active Directory Grupo, which, in theory has the correct permissions to run the application pool.

Well, none of this worked and we are still getting this error.

This is driving us crazy and think the problem might have to do with having the Domain Controller/Active Directory and the IIS6 running on the same machine. We'll try now uninstalling this DC pointing to another one to see what happens.

Event Type: Warning

An endpoint configuration section for contract 'xxx' could not be loaded because more than one end



I'm trying to test calling a webservice, I've found several free ones on http://webserviceshare.com, but none of them work for me.  Some of them give example calling code in C# which I've translated to VB.NET, they're typically just two to four lines, I don't think I've translated them incorrectly.

On that I've tried is US Zip Validator.  I added a Service Reference to http://www.webservicemart.com/uszip.asmx?WSDL, called ZipService.

I then call it like so:

            Dim myZipService As ZipService.USZipSoapClient = New ZipService.USZipSoapClient()
            Dim myCity As String = myZipService.ValidateZip("27707")

I get the following error on the first line of code:

"An endpoint configuration section for contract 'ZipService.USZipSoap' could not be loaded because more than one endpoint configuration for that contract was found. Please indicate the preferred endpoint configuration section by name."

Could not find default endpoint element that references contract 'CurrencyProxy.CurrencyServiceSoap



I created 2 projects in my solution:

  1. Classic asp.net web service (asmx)
  2. Class library project which references service
  3. web site project which references class library project
  4. Windows app project which references service.

Both projects were created in 3.5 framework and in Visual Studio 2008 Beta 2.

I added web service reference to Class library project. When it asked for namespace I typed "CurrencyProxy". Projects build ok, but when I run web app, Class library throws an error: Could not find default endpoint element that references contract 'CurrencyProxy.CurrencyServiceSoap' in the ServiceModel client configuration section. This might be because no configuration file was found for your application, or because no endpoint element matching this contract could be found in the client element.

I believe it has something to do with app.config in Class library project. Here is part from app.config:
