Session State for Listview Items?

Hi, I have a listview control, in it each item will have a checklist eg - Pass / Fail which will then have a label displaying the selected value. I also have datapager wired up to the listview. When i toggle between the datapages and toggle back, any result previously submitted will be wiped. I am thinking i should be using session state to temporarily store then info, and then once the session is finished use a submit button to send all values and ids into an xml. 1. Is this the right way of approaching the situation? 2. How would i specify session state for listview items, eg would i angle it through a itemdatabound event or the application itself?   Any assistance and advice would be appreciated as i have only started looking at state management and xml storage.

Retaining the selection color(default blue Color) for the selected items in ListView when focus is l

I am having a Listview in a form. I have added items(images) to the Listview. When i select the item(Image) in the listview , the item(image) is selected with Default selection Color(Blue). In the same form i have other form added to its container.When i tried to click on the controls of other form, the default selection color(blue) is changing to Grey color. For the lisview i am using property HideSelection = false. How i could maintain the default selection color(blue) even in focus leave of listview? Can any one please suggest me a solution or give me a piece of code. Thanks in Advance, Kumar

ListView Not Displaying Any Items

Hi All,   I have a ListView that has 2 columns (Key | Value). The ListView is bound to a DataContext, and each column is bound to a property off the DataContext. Here's the code:   <UserControl.Resources> <CollectionViewSource x:Key="WorkflowViewSource" Source="{Binding Arguments}"/> </UserControl.Resources>     <ListView DataContext="{StaticResource ResourceKey=WorkflowViewSource}" ItemsSource="{Binding}"> <ListView.View> <GridView AllowsColumnReorder="True"> <GridViewColumn Header="Name" DisplayMemberBinding="{Binding Key}"/> <GridViewColumn Header="Value" DisplayMemberBinding="{Binding Value}"/> </GridView> </ListView.View> </ListView>   The Arguments property is a public ObservableCollection<MyType>, and I've verified that it is indeed populated with items (11 of them in-fact). The properties are set on each item. The problem is my ListView is empty. I've switched to a ListBox as well and nothing. I've never had a problem like this before and I'm at a loss as to what could be causing it.   Let me know if you need any info.   Edit: I've verified the output window of Visual Studio and the binding to Arguments is correct. I know i

I have a listview...

Here is the code...

Dim alta As Integer = 0
Dim yana As Integer = 0
txt.Text = 0
txtsayfa.Text = 0

Static pagenum As Integer = 0

For i = 0 To LV.items.count-1

            Dim aralik As New RectangleF(yana + 20, ust + alta, W / 4 - 15, H)
            e.Graphics.DrawString((LV.Items(i).SubItems(2).Text), font, Brushes.Black, aralik, trim)

            pagenum = pagenum + 1
            txt.Text = txt.Text + 1
            yana = yana + W / 4
            alta = alta + 200

            txtsayfa.Text = txtsayfa.Text + 1

            If txt.Text = 1 Then

Strategies for removing empty list items from a listview upon render?

using asp.net 4 and vs 2010

I have a listview that displays data from a database. I have to configure it to display all column data where present, however, not all columns have data, with the result that blank spaces get rendered where this data would normally be displayed.

The code:

<asp:ListView ID="lvNationalCouncillor" runat="server" DataKeyNames="PersonId">
        <LayoutTemplate>
          <h2>National Council Contacts</h2>
            <asp:PlaceHolder runat="server" ID="itemPlaceholder"></asp:PlaceHolder>
        </LayoutTemplate>
        <ItemSeparatorTemplate>
        </ItemSeparatorTemplate>
        <ItemTemplate>
          <div class="ContactWrapper">
          <div class="ContactText">
          <h3><%# Eval("Title") %></h3>
          <br />
          <li><asp:HyperLink ID="BioLink" runat="server"
           Target="_blank" Text='<% #Eval("Name")%>'
           NavigateUrl='<%#"~/Biography.aspx?PersonId=" +
              Eval("PersonId") %>' />
          </li>

multiple delete selected ListView items

Hi All

I have multiple delete selected ListView items. If I select last item with any other combination selected items except first item and click delete all items gone. If I didn't select last item or select any other items include first item in that case all selected items deleted like I expected. How to fix that problem?

Missing items in listview webparts

Hello,

We have a "dashboard" page that consists of several listview webparts.  The other day, I imported a thousand or so items in to one of the libraries the webparts are attached to.  Now, the webparts are not showing all of the items any more.  If I go straight to the same view attached to the listview web part, I see all the items.  The view is filtered for criteria that should show at most 50 items, but the library contains around 2300 forms.  Is there some sort of limit on how many items a listview webpart can sort through (not the display item limit).  The weird part is, the items that are not shown are random.  The view sorts the items by ID the missing items can be anywhere in between new items or old.  Again if I go straight to the document library and open up the view, everything looks great.  I've tried reconnecting the view, changing the limits to a high number (even though not that many should be displayed after the filter)

The same issue is happening with a listview that is a calendar view connected to the same library.  Random items do not show up.

Any suggestions?

Selecting items in ListView in C#

Hi,

I have been struggling with implementing drag-and-drop for my listview. The thread about that is here. The result is that I am forced to take care of the clicks. I just did the logic to do Ctrl+Click, Shift+Click etc. However, I am having trouble with Ctrl+Up/Down and Shift+Up/Down.

The thing here is that when you hold down Shift it remembers one special item which I call the "base item". I need to know how to set this "base item". I set ListView.SelectedItem and gives the ListViewItem that was under the mouse focus. But this doesn't seem to be enough. :/

Any ideas?

ListView items added but not showing up.

This is a windows form.

I have a list view and have added items to it, but they are not showing up.

The code seems to run in debugging mode but still i do not see any items.

The listview is in details mode.

this.lstvRunDetail.Items.Add("aaa");
      this.lstvRunDetail.Items[lstvRunDetail.Items.Count - 1].SubItems.Add("bb");
      this.lstvRunDetail.Items[lstvRunDetail.Items.Count - 1].SubItems.Add("cc");
      this.lstvRunDetail.Items[lstvRunDetail.Items.Count - 1].SubItems.Add("dd");
      this.lstvRunDetail.Items[lstvRunDetail.Items.Count - 1].SubItems.Add("ee");
      this.lstvRunDetail.Items[lstvRunDetail.Items.Count - 1].SubItems.Add("ff");

Any ideas?

Thank you

Dare

using a stored procedure for a listview, I am trying to only return items in a column of a table tha

I am trying to create a stored procedure that when fed a session parameter, it will only find items that  start with a particular character.  For example, if I have a table named table1, and a column name col1, then if I have 10 items in the column and 5 of them start with the letter c, I want to use a stored procedure to onlly return the items that start with a c.

I am sure it is somethin like:

SELECT col1

FROM table1

WHERE col1 = "c??????????"

Using ASP.NET 3.5's ListView and DataPager Controls: Displaying Data with the ListView

Prior to ASP.NET 3.5, developers who needed to display a set of records could choose between the GridView, DataList, and Repeater controls. The GridView provides rich data features, but has a very boxy layout; the DataList and Repeater allow for a more flexible layout, but lack the "point and click" data features found in the GridView, DetailsView, and FormView controls. The ListView bridges the gap between layout flexibility and built-in data features.

This article, the first in a series of articles on the ListView and DataPager controls, looks at the ListView's many available templates and illustrates how to display data. Read on to learn more!

jQuery: Styling DropDownList Alternating Items (Rows)

In the following example, I will show how you can style any asp:dropdownlist very easily.

The example demonstrates how you can change alternating row items background color, using the fadeTo() to add a nice touch in the dropdownlist. You can change alt rows with a couple lines.

Hide a repeater in ASP.NET C# if the DataSource contains no items?

I have an ASP.NET page that uses a repeater nested within another repeater to generate a listing of data. It's to the effect of the following:
In the (C#) code-behind I'm basically using LINQ to pull a listing of information from an XML document and bind that information to the first repeater.

Searching for the answer to this, it seems the method is to determine whether the data for the nested repeater is empty. If it is, then you set the visibility of the repeater to false.

Creating SharePoint items with CreateItemActivity

Instead of creating new list items from code in your workflow you can use CreateItemActivity. CreateItemActivity can be used for creating list items or files. Properties of interest for this activity are the following (most of them are self-explanatory):

Creating Sites/Lists/List Items under Current User Context in SharePoint By Using SPUserToken

Usually we do this by performing the action under RunWithElevatedPrivileges method and updating the listitem using SPListItem.SystemUpdate() method (see here). but this approach has its own flaws like (RunWithElevatedPrivileges will run under system account, we cannot use SystemUpdate for SPSite,SPWeb,SPList, since it runs under system we will "CreatedBy" by as SystemAccount).

HttpContext.Items and Server.Transfer/Execute

The problem was basically that when a Server.Transfer call was applied the script container (and also various ClientScriptProxy script embedding routines) would potentially fail to load up the specified scripts.
