How to use SharePoint 2007 list data in Reporting Service (Visual Studio) 2008?

Jeez - I have been googling left and right, and tried all the suggestions. No luck in getting it to work. I am using Reporting Service 2008 tools in my VS2008, trying to create a simple report using SharePoint 2007 data (from a simple list). Here is what I've been doing: Created a simple SharePoint list in a test site - only one column (Title) with one record of data. Started Visual Studio 2008 and created a new Report Server Project Wizard project. I named the data source "dsTest". Type: "XML". As connection string I used: http://site/subsite/subsite/_vti_bin/lists.asmx. Credentials: "Use Windows Authentication (Integrated Security)". Clicked Next and arrived at the "Design the Query" form. I entered this in the Query string box: <Query> <Method Namespace="http://schemas.microsoft.com/sharepoint/soap/" Name="GetListItems" /> <SoapAction>http://schemas.microsoft.com/sharepoint/soap/GetListItems</SoapAction> </Query> Clicking Next I get this error: An error occurred while the query design method was being saved. Failed to execute web request for the specified URL. Soap Fault: Exception of type 'Microsoft.SharePoint.SoapServer.SoapServerException' was thrown. Now if I view the Details when trying it inside the Query Builder I get this: <errorstring xmlns="http://schemas.mi

Visual Studio 2010 can't find the Sharepoint Foundation 2010 Server when compiliing, Standalone vs

I'm wondering if we installed Visual Studio correctly cos when we get into Visual Studio 2010 the "Deploy as a Farm Solution" is the only available button option and the "Deploy as a Sandbox Solution" is un-selectable, grayed out, assuming the "Sandbox" solution is the "Standalone" approach? So when we go to compile a Workflow, the error message says the Sharepoint Server is not found" Could this "Deploy as Farm Solution" be a problem when we were instructed to install Sharepoint 2010 Foundation as a "Standalone" install? in other words we're trying to find out why when we go to compile a Workflow in Visual Studio 2010 that it can't find the Sharepoint Server Step 3: Install SharePoint 2010 1.  To install SharePoint Server 2010 or SharePoint Foundation 2010, open a Command Prompt window, and then type the following at the command prompt: On the Choose the installation you want page, click Standalone to install everything on one developer workstation. Thanks very much for any suggestions, ideas or pointers! BobK

Windows Sharepoint Foundation 2010 - Document Library Settings with Reporting Services 2008 R2 in in

I have a client who has recently upgraded their SharePoint system to Windows Sharepoint Foundation 2010 with Reporting Services 2008 R2 in integrated mode. I have configured reporting services and am able to deploy reports to SharePoint. The client created a document library before the upgrade to WSF 2010. I need to add Report Builder 3.0 to the New Document menu and found the following article. http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/bb326289.aspx "Allow management of content types?" is set to yes under the advanced document library settings. The problem is that when I try to "add from existing site content types" the reporting services content types are not in the list. I appreciate any help you can give me.

Windows XP, Visual Studio Express 2010 and SQL Server 2008 Express - How can I save modified columns

I am using c# in VS 2010 Express. I have a MDF database that I connect to through "Database Explorer". Database Explorer will not let me SAVE columns that I have modified. As I know in SQL Server 2008 full edition you can change the setting "Prevent saving changes that require table recreation" in Management Console to prevent this. I haven't got Management Console and can't see it in install.

How do I change this setting if I haven't got management console? Is it in Registry or Config File.

Can't authenticate SharePoint OOTB web services from Visual Studio 2008.

Hi, If I try to add a SP OOTB service reference (for instance the list service) into a Console application from VS 2008, I can't read data. It raises following exception

"The HTTP request is unauthorized with client authentication scheme 'Anonymous'. The authentication header received from the server was 'Negotiate,NTLM'.

My SharePoint server is allowed for windows integretated auth, and anonymous access is disabled (this is the default settings  I believe). Spent few hours googling and found a similar problem into the following blog post.

In this blog the author is suggesting to use the following block into the config

Help deploying Windows Service to 64bit Server usinf Visual Studio 2008 Setup Project?

I have a Windows Service I created a while back for our Win2003/2008 32bit Servers, written in Visual Studio 2008, deployed via a VS2k8 Setup Project.  Everything works great, installs fine, and runs as it should.  There is no platform dependent code, it's all straight-up .Net Framework stuff, so we thought it should deploy to a Win2008 64bit Server just fine.  But this seems not to be the case.

When I try to install the Service as is on the 64bit machine, the service and associated DLL's are installed to the "C:\Windows\SysWOW64" folder, but when you right click the Service itself and look at the properties, it is trying to find the .exe file in the "C:\Windows\System32" folder. This difference prevents the service from running, obviously.

If I change the Setup Project settings, set the Target Platform to "x64" and change in the File System screen to use the "System (64-bit) Folder" placing the files in there and re-run the setup.exe on the server.... now the files are correctly installed to the "C:\Windows\System32" folder, but the Service itself is not 'installed', that is it *does not* show up in the Services Manager.

Just for the giggles of it I tried to manually install the service using 'installutil.exe' in the .Net Fra

Using AxSpreadsheet in Windows Form with Visual Studio 2008

Hi. at our company we had a very big Visual Studio 2003 solution which was recently migrated to Visual Studio 2008 and .NET Framework 2.0. Everything works fine, except this one form where we use an AxSpreadsheet control so that the user can manipulate an Excel Spreadsheet directly from the form, and we can programatically access the cells he modifies. We are using Microsoft.Office.Interop.Owc11.AxSpreadsheet, which we already signed in VS2003, and worked perfectly. Now, when I try to open the form in desing time, I get an error that says: Attempted to read or write protected memory. This is often an indication that other memory is corrupt. Of course, I get the same error at runtime.

Any help? Thanks a lot.
