I've tried and looked on many sites with different solutions for which non of them resolved my issue. I've a blank Sharepoint site and want to view data from an SQL DB. It says that a Server Error occurred and that the Data Retrieval Service didn't worked
out while listing the DB's.
I tried using the 3 methods... using the also the connection string in different ways... when I do it using VB, Office and Java... I can see the data from that DB... why on Sharepoint Designer it doesn't? It supposed to be more easier than other tools.
I'm really desperate. Any help is very welcome.
From last few days i am struggling to auto sync from windows application developed in c# having connection with MS ACCESS 2007(.accdb) database, and having sqlserver 2005 in webservice.
The problem is i cannot syncronize the access 2007 to sqlserver 2005, if any one have any idea about this plz help me out.
I have linked my tables, in SQL Server Express 2005, to MS Access 2007 and created a File DSN named LocalSQLServer.dsn. Both the front end (MS Access 2007) and the back end (SQL Express 2005) are on the same machine.
I am trying to check an open connection , and for that I have written a module -- Function CheckConnection(strFileDSNName As String, _
strDBName As String, Optional strUN As String, Optional strPW As String) As Boolean
strConnect = "Provider=ODBC" & _
";FILE DSN =" & strFileDSNName & _
";Database=" & strDBName
I have created a form with a command button to check the connection, but it is giving the following error
"-2147467259; Method 'Close Connection' of Object'_CurrentProject failed
I am not able to figure it out, if the Connection Parameters that I have taken are correct or not. Please help me in this.
I realize this is probably going to be one of those vague questions that I am not going to get much help on here, but I thought I'd give this a shot before we go the MS Incident route on monday.
We have tried to setup Kerberos between MOSS 2007 AND SSAS 2005 to no avail. We have been through the knowledge base articles outlining the setup multiple times with all the experts on MOSS and Security here where I work. We've used other materials
we have on kerberos here. But the end result is that the double hop is not happening. We are trying to connect three ways: excel services, ssrs 2005 in integrated mode, and Sharepoint KPI's (using analysis services). In every case the connection
is not happening.
Other details are that the ssrs integrated mode seems to be setup right because I do get a report (albiet all it has is a connection error message). Excel services works fine if I use the unattended service account, but when I switch the odc file to
windows (should cause kerberos to kick in) it fails. When I try to add a kpi to the kpi list it can't retrieve a list of kpi's from ssas.
In all cases I am the user trying to perform these operations, and I have total access to the cube -- I'm the developer. I have no problems connecting to the cube directly through excel, so the security at that end passes t
I´d like to verify if somebody see this scenario:

* I give Full Control access to an user;
* When this user try to upload an item in a library, in this site, it was showed the message "Acces Denied".
* If the user press "back" in the Internet Explorer tool bar and press "F5" to refresh, the file is there.

I'm tried SELECT * INTO XXX FROM OPENROWSET alongwith Microsoft.ACE.OLEDB.12.0.
Apparently the query requires the sql account to have SYSADMIN privileges.
Considering that SYSADMIN should not be provided to a database account on a Production Server, I tried using the Linked Server method.
Following is my code.
Exec sp_addlinkedserver 'AB2','Ace 12.0','Microsoft.ACE.OLEDB.12.0','\\188.8.131.52\sagarr\Test1\cpc\c2\AB2.xlsx',NULL,'Excel 12.0;IMEX=1'Exec sp_addlinkedsrvlogin 'AB2','false',NULL,NULL,NULLgoSELECT * INTO [CPCAB2.xlsx] FROM OPENQUERY([AB2] ,'SELECT * FROM [Sheet1$]')Exec sp_dropserver 'AB2','droplogins'
Now i get the following error
Error.15247-User does not have permission to perform this action
My Excel file, Database and Windows Application run on separate machines.
i have provided the following privileges
GRANT ALTER ANY LOGIN TO sqlaccountGRANT ALTER ANY LINKED SERVER TO sqlaccountEXEC sp_configure 'show advanced options', 1RECONFIGUREEXEC sp_configure 'ad hoc distributed queries', 1RECONFIGUREThe DisAllowAdHocProcess in
