I have a 2003 Standard Server SP1 box that had SQL 2005 Express loaded onto it. I am trying to install Practice Solutions. The new version of Practice is SQL based and has a minimum requirement of SQL 2005 Express SP2. I took the liberty
of downloading SQL Server Express SP3 and installing a new instance for Practice Solution to utilize. When I tried to install the software It kicks back an error stating that the database is not 2005 Express Server SP2 or better. I deleted the
instance and reinstalled using different instance names several times and I still get the same error.
While troubleshooting I removed all unused instances, downloaded and installed 2003 server SP2, .net 3.5, Powershell, and SQL Server 2008 Express R2. I upgraded the one remaining instance for Backup Exec to SQL Express 2008 and installed another instance
for the practice solutions. Even though the new instance is SQL Express 2008 R2 after installing the instance I ran the instillation and I received the same error that the database is not SQL 2005 Express SP2 or better. I have also tried
to install the database to the working instance for Backup Exec and still i get the same error. I have contacted Practice solutions Support and they don't seem to have a resolution and are saying that its a server issue and not a software iss
