I dont have the SQL EXPRESS installed instead I have SQL Standard Edition.
I have two SQL Server instances installed.
1- UserLT (this is sql 2000)2- UserLT\SQL2005 (this is SQL 2005 named instance)
But when i try to add a database to my VS website project I get the following error:
Connection to SQL Server files (*.mdf) require SQL server express 2005 to function properly. please verify the installation of the component or download from the URL: go.microsoft.com/fwlink/?linkId=4925
I went in Tools>Opetions>DataBase tools>Data Connection>Sql Server Instance Name (blank for default)
and changed the "SQLEXPRESS" to "USERLT\SQL2005".
But I still get the same error message. Any ideas how i can resolve this issue?
Hello, I am not able to install 2008 R2 on my laptop. I have 2005 and 2008 installed previously. It says in one of the attached screenshots that the OLAP service cannot be started. I have attached the errors in screenshots and also my summary log, please
advise thank you.
Edit: I am able to manually startup the SQL 2008 R2 service, and can login as "sa" without a password... but strangely I did select mix mode authentication and did supply a password during the installation wizard too..
Final result: SQL Server installation failed. To continue, investigate the
reason for the failure, correct the problem, uninstall SQL Server, and then rerun SQL Server
Exit code (Decimal): -733426222
Exit facility code: &nbs
I want to uninstall properly SQL Server 2008 with a command line
Is there a good documentation on how to uninstall it without forget things (before / after) ?
There are a lot of remaining folder, components, registry key .....
never encountered trace flags before, but due to a problem in one of our applications I was asked if we activated a hotfix by enabling two trace flags.
Is there a possibility to check, if the trace flags are enabled?
I don't have the permission to execute anything on our SQL Server so I cannot run the DBCC TRACEON command.
Other question: by enabling a trace flag is there any risk to it? We have a productive environment and at the end of the month there are lots of reports running, so I don't want to do any changes to the system that might cause a problem.
Thanks for your suggestions
i've installed SQL server 2005 express and Visual web developper 2005 express.
when i whant to create a database in VWD the following error occures:
connection to SQL Server files (*.mdf) require SQL server express 2005 to function properly. please verify the installation of the component or download from the URL: go.microsoft.com/fwlink/?linkId=49251
i searched the internet but can't find the solution, i already reinstalled my complete workstation but the problem stays.

request.Method = "HEAD"
Dim returnURL = ""
Dim response = request.GetResponse()

Catch ex As Exception
I cannot find any way to do it.
