New column issue - Error number: MSSQL_REPL-2147199478

Posted By:      Posted Date: October 08, 2010    Points: 0   Category :Sql Server

In merge replication we have following issue which appears from time to time in few subscriptions.

When I added new column to table by using following procedure:

sp_repladdcolumn @source_object = N'TABLE_NAME'

,@column = N'NEW_COLUMN_NAME'

, @typetext =N'tinyint null'

, @publication_to_add = N'PUBLICATION_NAME'

, @from_agent = 0

, @schema_change_script = null

, @force_invalidate_snapshot = 0

, @force_reinit_subscription = 0

replication for few subscriptions gets following error:

The schema definition of the destination table 'dbo'.'TABLE_NAME' in the subscription database does not match the schema definition of the source table in the publication database. Reinitialize the subscription without a snapshot

Error number: MSSQL_REPL-2147201016 and other animals (I jmade a boo bioo)

Hi guys,   Just experimenting with replication at the moment, and after trying to set a table as read only using the following: ALTER TABLE mytable WITH NOCHECK ADD CONSTRAINT chk_read_only CHECK ( 1 = 0 )   (yes - I know now, that won't work) - I removed the constraint within managment studio, and subsequently mucked up the syncing. (clever eh???)   The whole thing is running on sql server 2005, publicher and subscribers all on the same box for the moment)   2 of the 4 subscriptions give the 2147201016 error, - complaining about a missing stored procedure - if I look in the stored procedures for the subscribed tables - it seems that all the dbo.msmerge procedures have gone bye bye!   also - the other 2 tables give another error: -------------- The schema script 'if object_id(N'[dbo].[ALBANKHOL]') is not null exec('ALTER TABLE [dbo].[ALBANKHOL] WITH NOCHECK ADD CONSTRAINT chk_read_only CHECK( 1 = 0 ) ')' could not be propagated to the subscriber. (Source: MSSQL_REPL, Error number: MSSQL_REPL-2147201001) ---------------- (yes - table "albankhol" is the one I created the read only constraint on.   as mentioned, all subscribers and publisher are on the one database - so I don't think it;s a timeout issue     any ideas?

Currency and number column error with office 2007 document formats in SharePoint 2010 library

Hi there,

The following error occurred within a SharePoint 2010 document library:

As I tried to test out the new SharePoint 2010 environment I changed the metadata from a few documents within a document library. I noticed that the data from the currency und number field was incorrect from a few documents. The numbers looked like that the decimal separator were ignored. For an example: 123.456,78 was saved as 12.345.678.

At first I thought it could be a language incompabilty but if that would be the case: Why would there be other documents which show the correct number?

I created another document library to recreate this error. And there I noticed the real reason: Every time I changed these fields from a document which was saved in the office 2007 format the error occurred. The metadata from the documents in the office 2003 format were correct.

Has anyone a similar problem or got an idea how to solve this problem?

"unexpected error has occurred" when user enters letter in column of type number

I am testing the form validation on my edit form.  The column is of type number.  When I typed in a letter, instead of presenting me with a validation error, I got "An unexpected error has occurred."  I refreshed the page, entered a letter again, and this time was presented with a validation error.  I'm afraid this sort of thing will happen to my end users once I move to production.  Any idea what might cause this?
There are no mistakes; every result tells you something of value about what your are trying to accomplish.

IsapiModule Error 500 Issue

I am about exhausted trying to figure out this error:

HTTP Error 500.0 - Internal Server Error

Description: The page cannot be displayed because an internal server error has occurred.

Error Code: 0x8007007b

Notification: ExecuteRequestHandler

Module: IsapiModule

Requested URL: http://localhost:80/ReportServer

Physical Path: c:\Program Files\Microsoft SQL Server\MSSQL.2\Reporting Services\ReportServer

When I enable Failed Request Tracing Rules and view the log output I am supposing that the actual problem is in the 2nd call where there are 2 backslashes before the actual filename in the specified path:

CALL_ISAPI_EXTENSION DllName="C:\Windows\Microsoft.NET\Framework\v2.0.50727\\aspnet_isapi.dll"

How to show 0 as first number in column

Hi guys. I have two little problem.

I have database with one table and it has 4 rows.

1. I want to show a zero in front of all number. Actually i added but it doesn't show.

2. If i don't put any value in column is it possible to have minus for example instead of 0?

I post it like that because i can't see how to post pics directly.

P.S. The columns with numbers have checked "allow nulls".

I draw in paint so it's not so good but i think it's understandable.

10x in advance.

'Meter number is not registered ' error FedEx ship web service move to production

BDC Column validation error in DIP

I have created a content type which has a BDC column along with other columns.

This content type is used in a document library. When the user adds a new document of this content type the system is asking for the extra data required for this content type and I am using AJAX to store data in the BDC Column fields.

The adding process goes fine and I am able to check in the document

Now if I check out the document and open it to edit it, a message is shown on the top of the document saying ' Required Properties - To save to the server, correct the invalid or missing required properties' along with 'Edit Properties' button.

When I click on 'Edit Properties' DIP is opening up and the invalid column is not highlighted. After some trial and error I found out that the problem is with the BDC column. When the cut the data from BDC column and paste it again and click on 'Check Item' the error disappears and allows me to check in the document.

Did anyone face any problem like this before. If so please help me out

Also I am new to BDC so please bear with me if I am missing something obvious.

Trying to set Calendar Time Interval Using Calculated Column, but getting Error

So i was trying to use a calculated column that added 7 days to the start date of a calendar item. The calculated column worked fine because i checked with several tests. Then i tried using the Column as the End Time in the Time Interval Setting in the Calendar View. This broke Sharepoint. Not the normal graceful error im using to seeing from Sharepoint but the Server Error Page when a dump happens in a ASP page. I havent enabled the full error page because i assume its not like i can fix it, i dont have the source code.

Does anyone else experience this? If so is it a known problem and being worked on?

Datasheet view lookup column issue

When a column that has a lookup is empty in datasheet view and I attempt to update a different column I get this message: the text entered for isn't an item from the list. select an item from the list, or enter text that matches one of the listed items.

I found this hotfix, but it did not apply.

Any ideas how to get this resolved?

Bizarre Error. "Message: [Column Name]"

I'm getting a really strange error in my application when under heavy load.  The page(s) pull information from our SQL database and when this error occurs, I don't get a real error message.  Instead, the error information looks like the following:

Message: TimeZoneOffset
Source: System.Data
StackTrace: at System.Data.ProviderBase.FieldNameLookup.GetOrdinal(String fieldName)
at System.Data.SqlClient.SqlDataReader.GetOrdinal(String name)
at System.Data.SqlClient.SqlDataReader.get_Item(String name)

at System.Web.UI.Control.LoadRecursive()
at System.Web.UI.Page.ProcessRequestMain(Boolean includeStagesBeforeAsyncPoint, Boolean includeStagesAfterAsyncPoint)

So what does this mean?  More importantly, how can I fix it?  If no one knows the answer, does anyone have any ideas for what I can do to better search for thi

"An error occurred during printing. (0x8000405)" eror - reporting services issue

We are getting this error: "An error occurred during printing. (0x8000405)" from time to time - 70% of the time when we are trying to use a printer button within report manager. It happens if we preview report or just print it. We noticed if we restart RS services, the error will stop for a little bit and then starts again. We don't print that much and it will come back after just a few reports printed. Let me know if you had a similar issue. thanks!

XML Column containing single quote causes replication error

We have SQL Server 2005 transactional replication set up, and some of our tables have XML datatype columns.  We have run into an issue with the following error in the publication: Incorrect syntax near 's'. (Source: MSSQLServer, Error number: 102) Get help: http://help/102 Looking at the distribution database, I was able to extract the offending command, and it turns out that the XML column has a single quote (') embedded in it, and the command that was generated for inserting the row into the subscriber table has bad syntax because of the single quote (i.e., it is not escaped).  One interesting note is that the single quote happens to also show up in a non-XML column, and the command segment for that column was generated correctly (it was escaped). Is there a workaround / solution for this?
