I have a File/Sharing Server which is Server 2008 SP2 and SQL Server 2008 is installed on it. My system which is on the same workgroup, was running Windows 2003 Server, which I have saved Server 2008 login credential on it and used that credential to login to SQL Server on Server 2008 system in Windows Authentication mode using SQL management studio. Recently I installed Windows 7 on that system, and I have also saved that Server 2008 credential in Windows 7 Credential Manager. The problem is here when I want to login in Windows Authentication mode using SQL management studio like past, and I will get below Error: Cannot connect to [SERVER] Login failed. The login is from an untrusted domain and cannot be used with Windows authentication. (.Net SqlClient Data Provider) Error Number: 18452 Severity: 14 State: 1 Line Number: 65536 I tried that registry solution (DisableLoopbackCheck=0x01 this thread), but no luck with that. I have checked the outgoing packets when I click on connect, and I found out that SQL management studio tried to send my local windows credential instead of Server 2008 saved credential. I don't want to login in SQL Mode, and also I don't want to convert my server to Domain controller. Is there any other solution with this issue? Regards

Login failed for WINDOWS Administrator login. (Microsoft SQL Server, Error: 18456)

Hi All, I am using SQL server 2008. While adding SQL user i unknowingly deleted the SQL authentication user from SQL server. Now the problem is i can not login with Windows Authentication neither i can login as "sa" user as this user is disabled. Please suggest me how to get in to SQL server management studio. Database is up and running but i can not access the database any more after doing this blunder. Please suggest me how to recover SQL instance, Thank you.

The login already has an account under a different user name. (Microsoft SQL Server, Error: 15063)

Hi,

I have two databases xxx and yyy.

I added a new user to xxx named as "Admin". It ownes some schemas.

Afterwards I added a new user to yyy named as "Admin". It ownes the same schemas.

Then I pressed ok button, got the error:" The login already has an account under a different user name. (Microsoft SQL Server, Error: 15063)".

Could you please give me some advice?

Thanks

Error while trying to register DLLs for Microsoft Jet on Windows Server 2008 R2 64bit

Hello! I'm having issues with importing Excel spreadsheets into Microsoft SQL Server 2005 on a Windows Server 2008 R2 64bit server.  After browsing the web, it appears that the problem is with the DLL's used by Microsoft Jet.  I've thus attempted to re-register these DLL's.  However, I am receiving the following results. c:\Windows\SysWOW64> regsvr32 c:\Windows\SysWOW64\msjetoledb40.dllSuccessful c:\Windows\SysWOW64> regsvr32 c:\Windows\SysWOW64\msjet40.dllSuccessful c:\Windows\SysWOW64> regsvr32 c:\Windows\SysWOW64\msjint40.dllThe module "msjint40.dll" was loaded but the entry-point DLLRegisterServer was not found c:\Windows\SysWOW64> regsvr32 c:\Windows\SysWOW64\msjter40.dllThe module "msjter40.dll" was loaded but the entry-point DLLRegisterServer was not found c:\Windows\SysWOW64> regsvr32 c:\Windows\SysWOW64\msjtes40.dllSuccessful c:\Windows\SysWOW64> regsvr32 c:\Windows\SysWOW64\mswstr10.dllThe module "mswstr10.dll" was loaded but the entry-point DLLRegisterServer was not found I've set the application pool for this site to use 32bit.  Please note that due to my role on the team, other options such as using ACE are not available to me, unless I can prove that I've exhausted all other options. Thoughts? Thanks,Mike

Hi This has me somewhat perplexed! I am attempting to install a SQL Server 2005 KB970894 patch (having downloaded the patch to apply it locally rather than using Microsoft update - which also fell over) . It updates all but Database Services! I am receiving "Microsoft SQL Server 2005 -- Error 29528. The setup has encountered an unexpected error while Updating Installed Files. The error is: The system cannot find the file specified." Things I have checked: I am running this on Windows Server 2003 R2 as a Domain Admin I have checked that the SIDS are current for the Local User Groups using PSGetSid as listed in the microsoft support article http://support.microsoft.com/kb/925976 Having set "Show Hidden Files" in Folder OptionsI can't find the file C:\WINNT\Installer\MSI1DC.tmp (however it may have bee removed during a "clean up"). Microsoft .NET Framework NGEN v4.0.30319_X86 not started error in server logs.

Not sure what the correct etiquit is for this. The thread I asked my question in last Friday was previously closed by a moderator, and I suspect that is why it's not getting answered.  Since I posted, there have been enough other people with the same issue posting to push it into the popular thread list. So I'm starting a new thread.  (Not sure what would be a better procedure.) Original thread is here: http://social.msdn.microsoft.com/Forums/en-US/netfxsetup/thread/4cb39c00-b038-45b2-bf38-2016a906570e Here was my question: This service was installed in a recent auto update on my SBS 2003 server and it was installed with automatic startup.  But it just starts up and shuts right back down.  The same occurs on my XP dev machines. Because of that my daily server report is showing: Auto-started Services Not Running Service Name Microsoft .NET Framework NGEN v4.0.30319_X86 Total auto-started services not running: 1 In normal conditions, these services should be running. For details, it is recommended that you review errors in the Event log related to the service.   It's a annoyance to have that in the daily server reports.  (I want to see all green items) Since starting up and immediately shutting down, appears to be the normal behavior for this service. (That's also what it does on XP. And the .net 4 full installation verifies as being

User profile import is in progress!Import could not be started. Please start import later or stop import now for new import to start.

I'm not sure where to look. We are running Team Foundation Server 2010 if that makes a difference. This is for SharePoint 2010.
