Problem with passing an Image as binary through web service

I have a web service that is accessed by a windows forms application and receives updates like facility name, address, image etc. Everything works fine except the image data is not being passed to the windows app. I am saving the images in database on both sides, so when I pull it from the server I use the following code

if (!reader.IsDBNull(floorPlanOrdinal))

facility.FloorPlan = (byte[])reader["FloorPlan"];

I can see the facility.FloorPlan Dimentions as 103840 when I debug this method which means that the data is pulled from the database fine.

On the forms side though the dimentions become 0, all other values pass fine except this. Here is the facility property in the web service on server side.

Use update progress control to change image control imageurl

UPDATE: Apologies for the previous formatting error - hopefully the post is now more readable... Hi I have a button with an image control next to it. Before the button is clicked, the image control "ConfirmedStatusImage" shows a "cancel.png" image. When the button has been clicked (and some other code successfully executed), then I change the imageurl for the "theConfirmedStatusImage" to show a "ok.png" image. Quite a bit of time can often pass between clicking the button and the associated code executing, so I have an ajax update progress control that shows a "bluespinner.gif" image while the page is updating after the button click. At the moment, the update progress updating image appears next to the "ConfirmedStatusImage" control. However, I would like to change things so that when the update progress starts, the imageurl of "ConfirmedStatusImage" changes from "cancel.png" to the update progress image (i.e., the "bluespinner.gif"). Then, when the update is complete, then the image should change to the "ok.png" image. My question is: how can I achieve this? As far as I can tell, the update progress control does not have any events that I can hook into. Also, placing the "ConfirmedStatusImage" inside the ProgressTemplate would not work either, as this only displays

Possible to insert & update in formview?

I have a formview where DefaultMode="Insert". Underneath, I have a gridview that displays the information from the inserts. Is there a way to update the information as well as insert? Maybe there is a better way to do what I'm trying to do. Any help is appreciated. Thanks!

SqlDataSource, FormView, and Update with stored procedure in code behind

Hello, Using a FormView with a SqlDataSource, I'm attempting to Update data by calling a stored proc in code behind. I was having trouble getting parameters using Update Parameters in the SqlDataSource, but found a working solution by coding the parameters. The problem now is I'm getting an "Updating is not supported by data source 'XYZ' unless UpdateCommand is specified'. I saw some previous posts on the forums, but didn't find them very enlightening.

Update in formview doesn't work, but I don't get an error message?

I have a datasource:<asp:SqlDataSource ID="MySQLProfielDataSource" runat="server" ConnectionString="<%$ ConnectionStrings:WAPMySQLConnStr %>" InsertCommand="INSERT INTO usergegevens(UserId, Geslacht, Voornaam, Tussenvoegsel, Achternaam, Adres, Huisnummer_toev, Postcode, Woonplaats, TelnrV, TelnrM, Geboortedatum) VALUES (@Param1, @Param2, @Param3, @Param4, @Param5, @Param6, @Param7, @Param8, @Param9, @Param10, @Param11, @Param12)" ProviderName="<%$ ConnectionStrings:WAPMySQLConnStr.ProviderName %>" SelectCommand="SELECT UserId, Geslacht, Voornaam, Tussenvoegsel, Achternaam, Adres, Huisnummer_toev, Postcode, Woonplaats, TelnrV, TelnrM, Geboortedatum FROM usergegevens WHERE (UserId = @Param1)" UpdateCommand="UPDATE usergegevens SET Geslacht = @Param1, Voornaam = @Param2, Tussenvoegsel = @Param3, Achternaam = @Param4, Adres = @Param5, Huisnummer_toev = @Param6, Postcode = @Param7, Woonplaats = @Param8, TelnrV = @Param9, TelnrM = @Param10, Geboortedatum = @Param11 WHERE (UserId = @Param12)" onselecting="MySQLProfielDataSource_Selecting" onupdating="MySQLProfielDataSource_Updating" onselected="MySQLProfielDataSource

How Do You Insert An Image From The Image Folder Into A Binary Column?

Hello Forum, How would I go about inserting an image that's in my images folder into a sql table column of datatype varbinary(MAX) ?    Thank you

Writing image binary data to the Response

Hi there,

I've created 2 web user controls. A = User control that displays an image, and B is the user control that hosts A. I'm trying to stream an array of bytes to A, but it seems like the Response.BinaryWrite method completely overwrites any heirachial controls (I can't see any of B's other controls besides the image).

How do I get A to just display the image from the byte stream? It doesn't come from a database, it's an image I created on the fly.

A's code:

        public void UpdateImage(byte[] imgbytes)
            Response.ContentType = "image/jpg";

One needs to press F5 for image to update...

I have a forum where one can change his profile picture. I am using file upload. The problem is that when someone upload another picture for his profile image, the previous image is still present. But when pressing F5 the page refreshes and the new image is shown.

Also I have some users that when they sign out, close the browser, and they come another day, their profile image is still shown (but they aren't logged in). When they press F5 all the logged in contents disappears.

I think that the browser is saving some sort of something.

Is there anyway to eliminate this problem?

Thanks in advance,

Roderick Vella

Would like to hide Formview's "Update/Cancel" and make data changes when new page is selected

I have a Formview that is only showing a question, and two checkboxes (True / False).  It's cumbersome for the client to have to click "Update" every time they click a checkbox.

Is there a way to have Formview update the data when the page is changed, or form is closed?  (I see those events, but know how to force data to update from in them).

The application is testing individuals, so 95% of the time the person navigating through the forms will be updating data.

Can't update image.source at runtime ( ??? )

I change wpf image.source dynamically during runtime.
Its seen everything is find - the image is not empty ( i saving it to my disk )...
but on the "image.source = ... " i dont see any image on the Image controler.
Actually - i dont see any image on the image controler.

I check if the Image controler can have some hard code image ( not change on runtime ) and its look fine also. Just update the image.source is not update the right image on the runtime.

The code is simple 3 line ... function name that get argument of BitmapImage and then call => image.source = BitmapImage - that it ===> image is the x:Name of the Image object on the xaml.

Any suggestion? what to check ... ? what is wrong ?
