Sql Server Agent failed to executed a scheduled bat file that contains sqlcmd command

Posted By:      Posted Date: October 08, 2010    Points: 0   Category :ASP.Net

Hi All:

I am currently using Windows 2003 R2, Standard Edition.
I have Microsoft Sql Server 2005 Installed with the latest service pack which is sp3.
I logged into the operating system as an administrator. The windows administrator id is "test2".
I logged into the Microsoft Sql Server 2005 database using "Microsoft Sql Server Management Studio" as an "sa" which is database admin.
I placed a bat file called "test1.bat" in the directory c:\test3, the file "test1.bat" contains the following content:

sqlcmd -b -e -Q "ALTER INDEX ALL ON [JOHNDATABASE].dbo.TABLE2 REBUILD"

In the dos-prompt, I can run the "test1.bat" batch file with no errors.
It gives me the following output:
c:\test3\sqlcmd -b -e -Q "ALTER INDEX ALL ON [JOHNDATABASE].dbo.TABLE2 REBUILD"
ALTER INDEX ALL ON [JOHNDATABASE].dbo.TABLE2 REBUILD

Using "Sql Server Agent", I created a new job called "Scripts1".
For the "General" link, I have the following values:
Name:test2
Owner:SA
Category:Database Maintenance

For the step link, I have the following values:
Step Name:test2
Type:Operating system(CmdExec)
Run As:SQL Agent Service Account
Command:
sqlcmd -b -e -Q "ALTER INDEX ALL ON [JOHNDATABASE]

MS SQL Server on WIN7 connection from PDF file created on LC ES2 - failed

So I created a PDF from in Adoble LifeCycle ES2, chose the right DSN and made sure the connections worked to the MS SQL server. SQL server was up and running and I couild log in. In the form, I was able to see and use all of the tables and fields to populate the forms just fine, saved it.

Issue: When launching the form, I get a 'Connection from Source (name) failed because the environment is not trusted'. And it does this for every connection. I tried several different DSN methods and while some connect in the Adobe form creation and I see the tables created in SQL Server, I cannot link to them to update. Funny part is, the data in the SQL database already there, does populate the form.

Am I missing something obvious?

Not able to create scheduled task in windows server 2003 using a batch file

Hi,

I am working on a .net 1.1 windows forms application. We have windows 2003 service pack 2 as the server operating system which uses IIS 6.0.

We have a report generation section. User submits report from the screen(c# code) to run report on a specified time. This request will create a batch file with the AT command with the time specified by the user. This batch file will create an AT job in scheduled tasks window and this AT job will a call another scheduler. This scheduler will generate the report.

the AT command looks like T 16:32 /INTERACTIVE C:\Inetpub\wwwroot\mywebservices\bin\Schedulers.GenerateReport.exe

This is working fine in all servers except one server which uses windows 2003 standard edition. The problem is like it is not able to create the batch file and subsequently fails to create the AT job.

Is there any permission related issue by which it is not able to create the batch file from code.

Please advice me!!!

Parameter error writing to excell 2007 file using SQL 2008 Server Agent JOB, works in BIDS.

I am getting the following error message when I try to run a script that writes to an excel file calling my Package with a SQL 2008 JOB.

Executed as user: xxxx\xxxxxxx. Microsoft (R) SQL Server Execute Package Utility  Version 10.0.1600.22 for 32-bit  Copyright (C) Microsoft Corp 1984-2005. All rights reserved.    Option "12.0;HDR=YES;" is not valid.  The command line parameters are invalid.  The step failed.

This same package runs correctly if I execute it in dev mode in BIDS.  I had to set 64bitmode to false in Dev mode to get it to work.  I set executable options in the job step to 'run in 32 bit mode'  The error message indicates to me it is trying to run in 32 bit mode which should be correct but it doesn't like the extended parameters. .

Here is my connection string from the data sources tab on the job

Provider=Microsoft.ACE.OLEDB.12.0;Data Source=c:\xxxx.xlsx;Extended Properties="EXCEL 12.0;HDR=YES";

This was filled in ny the connection object for me.  I have read the article closely at http://toddmcdermid.blogspot.com/2009/10/quick-reference-ssis-in-32-and-64-bits.html and still can't figure out what I need to change.

SQL Server Assertion: File: , line=1496 Failed Assertion = '0 == pageFull'

I am getting this error intermittently on SQL 2005 SP2.  It seems to be occurring on the same query but the way it is written to the log, I can't figure out the exact syntax.

Any help would be highly appreciated.

DESCRIPTION: SQL Server Assertion: File: <pageref.cpp>, line=1496 Failed Assertion = '0 == pageFull'. This error may be timing-related. If the error persists after rerunning the statement, use DBCC CHECKDB to check the database for structural integrity, or restart the server to ensure in-memory data structures are not corrupted.

Dbcc etc. are not giving any error.

scripts file not found on server - 404

Fiddler is showing a 404 error when my published web application runs. the jquery.js file in
/scripts is highlighted in red by fiddler as not found. ( IIS log also shows the 404 error ).
I run the web app from visual studio, on local host - no problems. The publish is successful.
All the files are in the scripts folder of the web app on the server.

In the site.master I have:
<script src="../../Scripts/jquery-1.4.1.min.js" type="text/javascript"></script>

Visual studio does not complain about this. ( which indicates the file is found. )

Oddly, when I fully qualify the path, VS says file not found, but after I publish and run, fiddler
shows the jquery file being found and sent to the browser.
<script src="/MvcApplication1/Scripts/jquery-1.4.1.min.js" type="text/javascript"></script>

when the <script> path is "../../Scripts/jquery-1.4.1.min.js", the fiddler error is
404: /Scripts/jquery-1.4.1.min.js .

when the <script> path is "/MvcApplication1/Scripts/jquery-1.4.1.min.js", fiddler shows the file
being sent to the browser from that /MvcApplication1/Scripts path.

Both the Scripts fol

Server 2008 R2 -> Failed to decrypt using provider 'RsaProtectedConfigurationProvider'. Error mess

So I am using the aspnet_regiis.exe tool to encrypt sections of the web.config in my asp.net applications and services.  I have done this for years successfully on Windows Server 2003 (IIS 6).  However I just moved some apps over to Windows Server 2008 R2 (with IIS 7.5) and I am now receiving the following error at runtime:

"Server was unable to process request. ---> Failed to decrypt using provider 'RsaProtectedConfigurationProvider'. Error message from the provider: Bad Data."

Now I am quite familiar with this process and am stumped at what I have missed this time around.  I have done ALL of the following which typically suffices for the process on the server. PLEASE READ ALL AND DO NOT PROVIDE RESPONSES OR LINKS FOR THINGS I HAVE ALREADY DONE Thanks!!  Wink

  1. Imported the keys to the server using aspnet_regiis -pi  Result: Success
  2. Given FULL permission (using -full switch) using aspnet_regiis -pa to ALL of the following accounts  Result: Success
