Unable to Show Edit item Links in Data Form Web Part

I have a DFWP connected to custom list and the boxes to Show Edit Item Links, Show Delete item links and Show Insert Item links are grayed out so that they can not be checked. This works fine when I use a DFWP connected to a standard list (i.e., Contacts). Is there something special that needs to be done to activate this functionality?ThanksDean

Append changes to list data not showing in customised edit form

Sharepoint version 3.0 running on Sql Server 2005

My Notes field in a list has the append changes to list ticked so that we can see who added notes and when. This works fine until I attempt to customise the edit form, at this point the previous notes (which had appeared underneath the field) vanish.  How do I get them back? I know they are still there as I can see them when I use the DispForm.aspx view, they dont appear when ever I cuistomise the EditForm.aspx

Assuming I must be missing something obvious as everything else is easy to configure.. Any help or guidance appreciated.

InfoPath form using SQL webservice is not showing data

I've developed an InfoPath form using SQL webserivce which contain drop downs. In SharePoint, I created a Data Connection Library and Forms Library. In InfoPath forms, I'm using ucdx file which i placed in my Data Connection Library. I'm also using Full Trust and created new certificate. I published it using 'Enable this form to be filled out using a browser' option and 'Administrator-Approved form template'.

Using Central Admin, Manage Form Templates > Upload Form Templates. I uploaded InfoPath xsn file and activate it in the Site Collection. Now, I can see my form in the Form Templates library. I opened the form using 'Open in the client application', it asked for the username/password and opened the form in the InfoPath forms. It works absolutely fine. But, when i try to open the form using 'Display as a Web page', is doesn't show the values in the drop down which is coming through webservice. No error as well.

Any idea folks ?

Data View: Cannot insert new item form

Hello there,

I'm wrestling with the problem of creating a website form by which it should be possible to submit data to a sharepoint list.

I have gone to the root of my site collection where I have created a new custom list, added all the custom columns I would like and added some dummy content (two rows).

Now I want create a form in which my frontend users (anonymous) can create new rows to the list. It's a conference registration list where the customers should be able to register for the next conference.

I would like full control over the layout of the form and integrate it seamlessly with the rest of my site design.

Guided by this video I have tried to create a such form: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yHtzKsOwqqQ&feature=related

The problem is this: when I have inserted the data view into the webpart zone, chosen my prefered list and chosen the fields I would like to be contained by the form and press the "insert selected fields as... " button the possibility of "new item form" is not available. Why is that so? This seems to be the right thing to do.

Problems with the permissions? I have set anonymous users to be able to create new list items for the relevant list.

Note: When I proceed the same way in the list-folder and for example open the "newForm.as

ADO.NET: Tackle Data Concurrency Exceptions Using the DataSet Object

ADO.NET provides many techniques for improving the performance of data-intensive applications and for making them easier to build. The DataSet, the hallmark of the ADO.NET object model, serves as a miniature, disconnected facsimile of a data source. While using the DataSet improves performance by reducing expensive trips to the database server, it also introduces the possibility of multiple users attempting to change the same data simultaneously, thereby generating data concurrency exceptions. This article examines the common causes behind data concurrency exceptions and presents techniques for overcoming them.

Dynamic Data Entities Modal GridViewPager not showing

I am using the ModalEF template, converted to a web application.

The GridViewPager is not showing up, though everything else works fine (filters, updates, etc).

I have tried several things in the last two weeks, to no avail.

Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.

The GridViewPager.ascx.cs Page_Load fires, but the Page_PreRender does not.

Hi all

I have a user who receives the error 'This form requires connections to data sources when it is loaded. At least one of these connections is not available. As specified by the form designer, this form will not open' when trying to Submit an infopath form located on a WSS2.0 site.

The user has been having this issue since upgrading to Office 2007 and IE7. I have had the user run an Office Diagnostics but this has not resolved the issue.

I am not aware of any other users experiencing this issue.

Any ideas please?
