I want to install MS SQL 2005 Exp. edition in windows server. For that I had already downloaded the SP2 MS SQL 2005 exp. edition from Microsoft web site. I am geeting error while trying to install SQL: "The SQL service failed to strat . For more information
see the SQL server books online topics, "How to view SQL server 2005 setup log files and starting SQL server manually." Our Server configuration is windows 2008 R2 with 32 bit prcessor.
Before that i had install the same but SQL Server Management Studio icon is not showing, so I unstalled SQL and then trying to fresh installation.
Please help me to resolve this issues.
Thanks in advance.
My home machine has sql 2005ÃÂ and Visual Studio 2005 installed. I uninstalled VS 2005 (RTM)ÃÂ and installed VS 2008 (RTM) in its place. I then found that the SSIS templates were missing. Lesson: don't uninstall VS 2005 if you want to use SSIS 2005!
1. Is there any "workaround" to this issue?
2. (If the answer to 1 is "No")ÃÂ I willÃÂ install VS 2008 side-by-side with VS 2005 on the same box.ÃÂ When the SSIS issue is finally resolved, can I uninstall VS 2005 without doing damage to theÃÂ VS 2008 install?
I had been using SQL Management Studio, from sql server 2005, reciently I installed Visual Studio 2008 on my machine. I use it for VB coding. I still use the same Management studio. It all works fine except when I try and Export or Import
a table in Management Studio using the wizard. I get the following error:
TITLE: Microsoft SQL Server
This wizard will close because it encountered the following error:
For help, click:
Exception has been thrown by the target of an invocation. (mscorlib)
Specified method is not supported. (System.Data.SqlServerCe)
Any help would be appreciated.
I have Windows 7 and installed Visual Studio 2008 Pro and also installed SQL server developer addiotion that comes with VS. After creating a test database in SQL maangement studio and adding the standard asp.net membership provider tables with the aspnet_regsql
tool, I created a web project and added a connection string to the web.config file to connect to the database.
No matter what, I cannot connect to the database.
I can create a connection through the server explorer in visual studio and when I drag a sqldatasource onto my page and configure it I can connect to the database etc. But no web.config connection.
This worked on my XP pro machine but not Windows 7.
Has anybody had this problem and what am I doing wrong.
I I have an ASP.Net web site I built using Visual Studio 2008. I also have a SQL 2005 database I use with this web site. I presently use MS SQL Server MManagement Studio Express to add / modify SQL tables, stored procedures, etc.
But I want to now maintain my SQL datbase directly from my Visual Studo 2008 where I maintain my ASP,Net web site. I have created a script from my QL DB that creates all my existing tables and stored procedures. Can I somehow run this to create the necessary source files within VS 2008?
When I was installing SQL Server 2005 64 bit on Windows Server 2008 R2, I received a notice informing the software Microsoft Visual Studio 2005 has known compatibility issues with this version of Windows.
So how can I get around these problems?
I need to use Visual Studio 2005 to create the Integration Services packages.
Also, I need to migrate directories of Integration Services packages from a server with SQL Server 2005 32 bit on Windows Server 2003 32 bit for a server with SQL Server 2005 64 bit on Windows Server 2008 R2. How can I proceed to do this?
Thanks in advance.
