Posted By:      Posted Date: October 07, 2010    Points: 0   Category :Sql Server

I created a SQL IF / BEGIN / SELECT for year end. The script works BUT when I try and save it a msg displays;

Incorrect syntax near the keyword 'if'.

The code is as follows:

Creating a Site Column that Looks up an External List causes error when saving site as a template.

I'm not sure what the best practice is here, but I'm having a major issue trying to save sites as templates and I think I narrowed it down as to what the issue is.

When I try to save a site as a template, it creates the solution package, but it doesn't activate it.  When I try to activate it manually, I get the following error:

Feature definition with Id e9431ed5-27b1-4c33-9eeb-81b4ace9d372 failed validation, file 'test1ListInstances\ElementsFields.xml', line 481, character 231: The 'SystemInstance' attribute is not allowed.

I opened up the solution package and looked at the ElementsFields.xml file.  I traced the line to this:

<Field Type="BusinessData" DisplayName="Acme People Name" Required="FALSE" EnforceUniqueValues="FALSE" Group="Custom Columns" ID="{55b3bbba-a7e3-4698-9946-648a6b726e9e}" SourceID="{026904fd-f2d0-4e57-a239-c6da838458fa}" StaticName="Acme_x0020_People_x0020_Name" Name="Acme_x0020_People_x0020_Name" SystemInstance="ACME" EntityNamespace="http://????????:28241" EntityName="People" BdcField="FullName" Profile="" HasActions="True" SecondaryFieldBdcNames="0" RelatedF

SharePoint Designer 2007 - Customize List View - Error when saving view ASPX page

We have a custom list definition that includes custom site columns.  When we try to open one of the list view aspx pages in SharePoint to update the view query we get an error when trying to save the page in SharePoint Designer 2007.  We receive a warning that the operation will customize the page from the site definition, which is fine.  And then get a general "Server error: ServiceRequestorID" alert.  ServiceRequestorID is a custom site column used by the list definition.

ServiceRequestorID field definition:

error in sharepoint 2010 designer while saving:"Content in the embedded form may be changed by the t

I am doing development  in sharepoint 2010 and facing this very weird problem.
If I create a site page with the sharepoint look and feel for that site and try to save the site page,i am getting this error:**"Content in the embedded form may be changed by the the server to remove unsafe content.Do you want to reload your page to see the results of the save? "** and when i say reload, the server removes some parts of my page, e.g onclick event of html, asp buttons.

This error just comes for any sharepoint site page,e.g i took a copy of 'How To Read Library' page just edited the text part of taht page, and when i try to save this error again comes up.

However,if i create a simple aspx page with only htmltags like head body, then thr is no problem ,everything works great. But sharepoint look and feel pages are giving troubles while saving.

has anybody seen this earlier, what could be the reason for this?

SQL 2005 "Class Not Registered" error when saving a Maintenance Plan

We are running SQL 2005 Standard Edition SP3 on a single server. Anytime I attempt to save a maintenance plan, I get a "Class Not Registered" error. I also got this when attempting to edit or delete Maintenance Plans created previously, when this functionality was working. On this server there is a SQL Server 2000 as the default instance, and the SQL Server 2005 is a named instance.

Looking at other posts everywhere, installing SP2 or SP3 can break the ability to create or edit Maintenance Plans. I can confirm that SSIS is running and that I can now connect to Integration Services in Mainagement Studio (and I was able to delete my old plans in the Integration Services). There was a problem with this which was cured by manually registering dts.dll and msDtsSrvrUtil.dll in the DTS/Binn folder. I wonder if I need to manually register any more DLLs.

Saving IQueryable in cache error

Hello, i want to save a IQueryable in cache like this:

                            Dim cachekey As String = "all-ascending" + _from.ToString + _to.ToString + _skip.ToString + _take.ToString
                            If Cache.Get(cachekey) IsNot Nothing Then
                                myQueryOfImages = Cache.Get(cachekey)
myQueryOfImages = From _image In myEnt.Images
                                                  Where _image.Id >= _from And _image.Id <= _to
                                                  Order By _image.Id Ascending
                                                  Skip _skip Take _take
                                                  Select _image

                                Cache.Insert(cachekey, myQueryOfImages, Nothing, Date.Now.AddMinutes(10), Caching.Cache.NoSlidingExpiration)
                            End If

However when i try to retreive it and use it i get this error:

The ObjectContext instance has been disposed and can no longer be used for operations that require a connection.

Error when saving file from Word: This file cannot be saved because some properties are missing or

I am receiving an error when trying to save a file from Word into SharePoint: "This file cannot be saved because some properties are missing or invalid"

I have got two different Content Types for this Document Library: "Policies" and "Procedures". Both documents have got exactly the same required fields, all required fields are displayed in the Document Information Panel. If I try to save a "Policy" the saving process works fine, if I try to save a "Procedure" I get the above error.

It's as if the Procedure had an additional required field, but I cannot figure out where that would come from? If I go to manage the Content Types and check the list of fields, I can clearly see which fields are required and which aren't.

Is there something I am missing? Or could one Content Type be corrupt? If so, how do I fix it without messing up all the files that have already been posted using this Content Type?

Error saving Office 2010 files opened from SharePoint Server 2007

I have recently started testing Office 2010 and have found only 1 major issue - I cannot save any Office 2010 files opened from a SharePoint Server 2007 location.  Upon save I receive an error message saying "Upload Failed. This file wan not uploaded because the specified path was not found on the server." and the file is captured in the Microsoft Upload Center.  Using the Upload Center action 'Open Web Site' opens the site without problem; however, a all subsequent resolve actions fail.  Any ideas?

Error saving report to PDF

SSRS 2008 R2

I have a report with a number of subscriptions saving the report in pdf to a file share.
One of the subscriptions continuisly failes.

When I render it manualy and save it to PDF: it seems to work, but when I open the pdf file I get an error "the file is damaged".

Deploying WPF project windows 7 saving file error

after deploying the program i created in program files folder, the application crashes when it tries to create a file in the same directory(installation directory). I know it's because it does not have permission to do so.

I need to run the application in administrator mode, but most of my clients would not know how to do this.

Is there a way to get the file saved on the disk without hassling the user's experience in using the application? How do i bypass that? it's just a text file with an extension i gave it.

Thank you for your help in advance!

Saving Site as a Template Results in an Error in Migrated SharePoint 2010

We've migrated our corporate SharePoint 2007 farm to 2010. We're having an issue with Saving Sites as Templates. I've created a blank site and attempted to Save the Site as a template and receive an error. The logs have the following below about the error:

System.InvalidOperationException: Error generating solution files in temporary directory.

The strange thing is, we have 3 web applications and only one exhibits this behavior.

Any ideas where I can look further?

Thanks in advance.

IsapiModule Error 500 Issue

I am about exhausted trying to figure out this error:

HTTP Error 500.0 - Internal Server Error

Description: The page cannot be displayed because an internal server error has occurred.

Error Code: 0x8007007b

Notification: ExecuteRequestHandler

Module: IsapiModule

Requested URL: http://localhost:80/ReportServer

Physical Path: c:\Program Files\Microsoft SQL Server\MSSQL.2\Reporting Services\ReportServer

When I enable Failed Request Tracing Rules and view the log output I am supposing that the actual problem is in the 2nd call where there are 2 backslashes before the actual filename in the specified path:

CALL_ISAPI_EXTENSION DllName="C:\Windows\Microsoft.NET\Framework\v2.0.50727\\aspnet_isapi.dll"

Inserting personal error message in ValidationSummary

I am creating a web form that requires a lot of validation. I use many of the validation control in asp.net already like RequiredFieldValidator and CompareValidator.

My Problem: after my custom validation for the value entered return an error message, and I pressed enter key when the field is empty, my custom error message is overlapped by my ValidationSummary.

Setting my custom error to visible = false on button click also does not seem to work as it requires for me to enter the value first.

This made me think, is there a way to insert my custom validation inside the ValidationSummary as an error message like for other validation control?

Thanks in advance
